    I love the video, very informative and helpful but quick question... a lot of potential d1 players decide to play d3 but what about the ones like me who are genuinely playing because we could never make d1 and just want to play the game. Is that good enough, I'm not saying I'm bad, I'm just an average player with good grades, financially stable for my school. I just don't wanna tryout and end up not making a d3 team just because I didn't play club or wasn't the best on my team Yknow?

    • @CalebWuTV
      @CalebWuTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! You definitely could make a D3 team. Just work extremely hard and take advantage of your opportunities. Reach out to teams that you are interested in and when you play in front of a coach, show your strengths and play with confidence. Most importantly just work and continue to improve

      You just have to find a coach who believes in you. My son had scholarship offers to Michigan, and Umass among others but chose to take a full academic ride elsewhere - he started playing pickup with the MLS Next Real Salt Lake team and got asked to join - he declined, his days of competitive grind are sadly over.

    Hey Man, i have a question! I am an international and I am planning on going to a US college to study and hopefully yo play football as well there. Something I am confused about, I thought that D1 is for people that are planning to become professionals, D2 is for people who still train but not as good, while D3 is for everyone who wants to join where no trainings with the team are even needed. Could you educate me on this. I don’t want to underestimate your ability cause it looks like you are quite good, could you just tell me how serious does the school take it? How many compulsory trainings? Coming from a international footballer

    • @CalebWuTV
      @CalebWuTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      D1 is definitely a very high level but D2 and D3 are very serious about football as well. D3 athletes train a lot. We train everyday and if we aren’t training, we have a game. D3 schools still make cuts and many play at a higher level after semi pro or professional. I personally play against D1 and D2 players and sometimes outplay them. D3 players are sometimes better than D1 players. They usually have a little more time to focus on academics and school.

    • @oskeezy
      @oskeezy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to become pro then go D1or D2 maybe even NAIA. D3 is a lot harder to get looked at because they focus more on academics. He maybe right on the training and being competitive, but the level of play is not the same as d1/d2. Only 5 D3 schools out of the country are maybe worth going to, but even NAIA would be better to play at because it is a mixture of D1/D2/D3 footballers that have a better chance with money for school. What it comes down to is money. He says in the video they don't give out soccer scholarships they give academic scholarships, so what does that tell you? It tells you grades / school matter more for their program than soccer. Messi / Ronaldo are the two best footballers in the world and would have never been able to afford a D3 school from their upbringings. My suggestion is go to a school who really cares about their soccer program and has money for their program because if not you will be paying to play like a youth club.

    • @CalebWuTV
      @CalebWuTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the coach, but it would really be hard especially since you are only there for that year. However, there are players who transfer and only play for their last year so it is very possible.

      Do you have a highlight video? It doesn’t matter where you play high school completely. It may affect it but you still have control of the schools you can get offers from. You might have to do more than someone who is in a good situation already at a good private school or academy but if you have talent and display it at ID camps and through film, coaches will notice

      I have a D2 offer right now. However, it’s also about finding the right fit. Saying you play D1 or D2 and sitting the bench might not be as good of an experience as being a starter at a D3 school. Also, academics, location, coaches, time, etc all have to be considered

    Answer: You just have to be a decent club player, most D3 schools use soccer to get kids to come to their schools and pay less than the average student. Lots of D3 schools just recruit tons of kids, and most never play - if you are good enough, D1 schools will find you if you play on a high enough level team - and you have a good marketing video. RE: speed of play, if you are on a good CLUB team, high level it is much faster than HS, and much faster than D3....

      @@RastaSaint7 Yeah, not a chance that glorified club ball at D3 would do that. I get that folks think D3 is college soccer, it is, but it is not really.....no scholarships, will take tons of kids to pump up their school numbers...if you want to play D3 you can find a school that will take you and your money - D3 soccer can be good, if you are a school like Trinity that gives full rides in the way of GIFTS from their alumni, but for the most part D3 soccer is not good.

    • @GizStudPrez
      @GizStudPrez ปีที่แล้ว +1
