    Regeneration can cause the oil level to rise. Part of the extra fuel injected for regen can blow by the pistons and end up in the oil pan. The engine was Proberbly attempting to regen many times and that's why the oil level was high.
    Thanks for the great Video's Sandy!

    You are an absolute legend mate. Took our asx to a diesel mechanic who could not clear the message. Showed him your video. Done and done. Good on you for posting.

    Brilliant Sandy! Your key word to get rid of this oil level message is 'initialize'. I have a Mitsubishi ASX 1.8 diesel and the Foxwell NT530 scanner so two items different from you, but it still worked. I used the info button and the Mitsubishi software to zero and clear everything I could find in every menu and sub menu but the message was still there. THEN, your tip on 'initialize' in the appropriate menu for oil matters and the 1550cc figure went to zero. And as you say 'voila', message gone. Much appreciated.

      @cdorob 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt, the oil level message stayed off with the Foxwell NT530? Did you do anything else?

      Well yes, the oil level was indeed high when this alert first appeared, probably due to DPF regen, so I changed the oil and filter, rather than just drain some off and the alert did not automatically reset after doing this. As said above, no 'in car menus' could clear this message and neither did the scanner, using service reminder etc reset features. The 'initialise' selection routine is what worked.

    Fantastic video which helped massively. I used a £99 kingbolan Ediag tool and with the menu guidance in this video I initialised the oil level and hey presto that annoying light is off! (After an oil change of course). Brilliant! Thank you

    The regen raise the oil level. Mixes diesel with oil. Drop oil to bottom notch on dip stick

    Sandy still having that EGR code will probably stop the car from regeneration.
    I have used Forte Egr and Turbo cleaner on these kind of faults and
    have had a lot of success with that product.

    Many of the ERG faults can be solved by giving the car a good run on the motorway. Mitsubishi's cars are so overengineered. They are not supposed to be driven economically, shit gets clogged up.

    What I get from this is some dumb Kent, thought shit I need more oil. They added more then the engine was like, check oil level, so the Mong thought shit I must neeeeed more?! So kept making the problem worse l. Then you need to software reset the stupid once you did the oil change properly.

    • @10GTE
      @10GTE ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah nah. The oil level growing due to diesel dilution is a common thing. Often caused by the dpf needing to regen too often, that is then usually caused by a faulty component which is over sooting the dpf.
