On Friday, the biggest transformation to New Zealand's public health system took place. Twenty DHBs were dissolved and replaced by one centralised entity, Health New Zealand. Working alongside it will be the Māori Health Authority. The upheaval comes as COVID and the winter flu overwhelm an exhausted workforce.
