waiyan hung It's a OM502 Mercedes engine. This 2006 Setra 417 from Continental Auto have a V8 diesel engine.
An engine name comes from its structure not from how it sounds, because there are inline cars that sound like v8's.
Idle chugging sound is clearly v8 diesel
Scania V8 sounds much better- lower idle 450 RPM
