I love that Nikki noticed a bunch of things and then immediately let it go. That is the kind of thing that makes this mystery work and is exactly why Benoit couldn't solve the mystery himself. the fact that Nikki was able to notice a bunch of things before they were revealed was hilarious to watch. Many people complained about the movie hiding a lot from the viewer to make the murder mystery almost impossible to know before the reveal, but it has just enough hints throughout that you should be able to see it from the very start, like a glass onion.

The fact is that this movie basically hid nothing, it didn’t lay out the whole story sure, but if viewers paid attention, all the evidence that we needed to point the finger at Miles was really right out in the open. It wasn't until I finished watching and then watched a few reactions that it hit me what had been a huge clue right at the beggining. When Blanc is in the bath talking to his friends he says that the LAST thing he needs are simple puzzles or a vacation but then he turns up at the island seemingly THRILLED about a murder mystery party in which the invitation was as he said "simple children's puzzles" it finally hit me that it was a huge red flag that I missed completely, so many missed clues I should really give up trying to guess the ending.

You guys nailed the bit about the structure of the film being so fun. What’s even more fun is that the story is told in a structure of a fugue, a musical structural style explained by Yo-Yo Ma in his cameo as the member of Birdy’s ‘pod’, lol, who helps the gang open the puzzle box by identifying the music being played as a fugue. I’m going to explain this terribly so apologies, but a fugue is musical composition that begins with one musical piece then layers that same piece over and over w/slight variations until it reveals something new. Terrible definition but I loved how the film did the same, folded in on itself again and again until it revealed the truth, hidden in plain sight. Really fun movie. And I hope someone else here comments on fugues and does a better job ;)

In the flashback to when Andi introduced Miles to the group, Mile's outfit is pretty much an exact replica of Tom Cruise's in Magnolia. Which makes sense for Miles, since he doesn't come up with his own ideas, he just steals other peoples'.
Also, the photo of Miles with the napkin in that one article is imitating a photo of Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos CEO who was sentenced to prison for fraud)

I love that the real premise of the film is that rich people are just entitled idiots that are living like parasites off of society, but the rest of us have bought into the myth that their weird behavior and strange lives only seem that way because they're smarter and better than us, and we aren't in a position to understand....when in reality they're just fucking idiotic sociopaths that shouldn't be allowed to run things. I suppose the original, "Knives Out," was saying much the same thing, but this time it feels like Rian Johnson really doubled down on the idea. I also think it's damn funny that they had Edward Norton first dress as Tom Cruise's character from the movie, "Magnolia," then he was dressed as Steve jobs, and finally as Mark Zuckerberg. It reinforces the idea that Miles has no original ideas and just adopts cultural markers that make him seem like someone you should listen to.

    "Is that dock a Banksy"
    "Peasoshite"
Is that the Greek name for the island"
8:30 The song Miles (Ed Norton) was playing when the boat arrived was "Blackbird" by The Beatles, it was literally a song about how white people have mistreated black people, and stolen from them for so long (AKA Civil Rights). This is a major theme of the conflict of the entire movie, with miles stealing the company, and all his white "friends" helping.

One little detail that I love: after the original Knives Out came out, Rian Johnson did a video on TH-cam (I can't remember who it was with, Vanity Fair maybe?) breaking down a scene from the film and he mentioned that Apple will let you use iPhones for free in any movie, as long as the villain doesn't use one. So, in Knives Out, you'll notice that Chris Evans is the only character who uses an Android phone. In this one, knowing that he had already let the world in on that little filmmaking secret... he didn't have ANYONE use an iPhone, and the actual killer didn't own a cell phone at all.

But here is a guy with friends who HAVE purjuried themselves protecting him. The commentary of you seeing things happened , handing Duke the glass, but believing Duke must have grabbed the wrong glass...Knowing pineapple was in the drink but blaming poison. What autopsy wouldn't figure out the real cause of death. It would have been ruled an accident bc his 'friends' would have backed him up.
