This is for all those who think Steve Vai is just another shredding rock guitarist. He is simply the best guitarist on the planet and an amazing composer. Bravo!
@@Omar_E11Awesome show. The guy still brings it, and that was actually the second time I've seen him live. He was about 25 years younger the last time, but I enjoyed this just as much if not more. ...Steve is still an incredible composer and showman 👍
His tech is a guy named Thomas Nordegg who lives in LA. Awesome dude. If there's a way to hook anything up, he will hook it up. He can dim the lights in his apartment from his guitars and he has THE biggest damn pedalboard rig in his living room. Just a truly awesome guy. And he truly loves the tech gig. He's also doing Guthrie Govans guitars right now.
My Wifey and I got to meet you Steve after your concert at the Moore Theater in Seattle in Sept 2007..you were gracious enough to come outside and chat it up with us for quite a while...loved talking guitars and tours with you it made my whole year!!!...and thanks again for signing my OG Passion and Warfare cd and the poster that came with it...Loved your work since the Zappa days...
What blows me away about all of these virtuoso guys and gals is *not* the fact they have the technique and skill to play the notes.... but the fact they actually *wrote* such beautiful and wonderfully complex music in the first place. Playing it 99% note for note live is equally as jaw dropping. Thanks for the vid !

He cracks me up so much now that I saw him in person. The cheesiest, 70's hair metal/sexytime faces + oblivious pompousness + dad jokes.... it's hilarious....
Not only do I think Steve is a great guy in person.. in real life.. I think he's one of the best ever Plus.. he took his natural talent then WORKED on it.. worked on it hard and continues to. He's as much a composer, writer as he is a player, performer. which.. in itself is incredible. Bless all the good that music can bring!
this is what you show people when they say Vai has no feel and just plays a million notes per second. truly amazing and emotional and the orchetra just helps everything. definitely my favorite version of the song maybe my favorite song but i didn't fully apreciate it untili heard this video. One of the many reasons i love this man and his music
It's not just the million per second notes and the lack of feel (Gilmour has more feel in three notes than Vai in 300), it's his tone, that sounds crap, and the fact that he doesn't adjust his tone along the tracks. He always sounds the very same
I used to listen to Steve Vai when I was a teenager. Now starting to fall back in love with this beautifully talented man and his awesome unique style all over again. Thanks Steve for doing what you do.

It could be in large stadium or a TV station stage, his passion and consistency while performing is just AMAZING. I was fortunate enough to watch him perform in a small pub years ago & I vividly remember how he blew everybody away.
Steve Vai is the opposite of a poser. He is a consummate artist who has the will and the ability to play exactly what he feels. His imagination and technique as a guitarist is unparalleled. And he will out-genius you any day of the week.
Throughout the time on earth there always has been a perfect living master of spirituality attracting all manner of human beings from the superb masters of the guitar as we see and hear today , Steve would give all credit to his guitar teacher, his parents and of course to his spiritual master. The state of outer expertise is a reflection of the inner love and devotion and practice a disciple has for the love of his master, he love of the instrument, love of the creator at His lotus feet.
Every single note he produces has a meaning to him, even those we listeners may find out of tune or not in place, which is why you will rarely see Steve improvising his compositions as opposed to many others who stray from original including Joe Satriani respectfully. Steve is simply another level composer and had he played a violin or piano several centuries ago he would probably be considered as one of the greatest composers ever.
