From Jim, who designed the STLs: "Ok, so I've made a Malaya flavoured set of my BoB Artscow originals. I slightly re-arranged the two sets so that you'd only need one set for smaller games, and then the second one adds extra sections/leaders etc Main Set: www.artscow.com/gallery/playing-cards/bth-malaya-bag-the-hun-siys16s1sgo0 Extension Set: www.artscow.com/gallery/playing-cards/bth-malaya-bag-the-hun-50osv9trmwbs I didn't bother changing the card back - I did briefly consider changing it to something more Malaya themed but decided against that in the end... Shout if anything looks wrong or could do with tweaking..."
So good to see the whole project finished - looks amazing - great job. I was thinking of doing my Malaya project in 1/300 but I definitely think I'll stick with 1/600 having seen yours. I'll also carry on seeing if I can test your 'this project is finished' resolve with some new Malaya types over the next few months!
Fantastic job, Alex! It is always a proud moment when you can sit back and admire your handiwork! This is why I love early to mid war aircraft. There were so many obsolete marques and the crews were seriously brave and largely overlooked by mainstream history. They look excellent!
Cracking video Alex! Looking forward to seeing these in action. Just as a clarification, there were no Sonias present at Pearl Harbor. The Sonia was used by the IJA, as you mentioned, and Pearl harbor was an entirely IJN affair. They did use the Aichi D3A "Val" at Pearl Harbor, as well as in China, which was the navy specific carrier based dive bomber.
Brilliant update on a brilliant project project. Really informative about the different aircraft types, you could use this video as a reference guide. Love the end sequence with them all neatly stored away. I am worried about your sanity when I think about how many decals you've had to apply. Is it 6 to each plane x how many planes...All the best Andy
cheers Andy, yeah my memory for the individual Japanese types is not great, so I'll probably have to use this as a reference myself... I don't bother with putting decals on the underside, so it's only four per plane really. I actually enjoy the process though!

Cheers Jim, 1/600th is such a good scale for WW2, and these are perfect. Thanks for sculpting them! And don't tempt me....

Cheers, yeah, it's nice to draw a line under something. Even if Jim has designed a KI-31 now....

I suppose there's a kind of masochistic enjoyment in applying tiny decals! Great project though. 1/600tg BoB for you next then?
@andydrb9673 absolutely, they are already being printed...
Absolutely awesome 👏
Cheers Andy!
Oh yeah..
Here’s a great video on that Mission you talked about with the Blenheim
