Plus they probably dated/lived together for years prior to marriage. I could see the groom offering to help the mother in law out if she needed it but for her to go after money and say they weren't married is just pure greed. My aunt lost her daughter suddenly when her daughter was only 28. My aunt is now in her 80's and still grieves daily for the loss of her daughter. No amount of money will take away the pain of losing your only child.
