I love these videos. You guys not only make the best tools for mixing but your educational content on how to use them to get better mixes is top notch. As someone who is not a professional and just makes my own songs in my bedroom, my mixes have gotten significantly better since I started using XVox and XRack and watching these videos. Thanks so much for the great content!
It would depend on a lot of factors - here's a video we'd recommend watching to help with setting the balance between your lead vox and the beat: th-cam.com/video/jV5KLwyYWhY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cbYMaKelEIRV7Ngu For the master of the entire track, just make sure it's 1) not clipping, and 2) the fader is set to 0. Then, you can make it as loud as you want with a limiter.
I arrange my vocal tracks just like this, but I use garage band, so I can't make groups- I put XVox Pro on every track, but sometimes I'll leave the double free of xvox pro and just use compression on it only. Otherwise, my system can't handle it when I have a song with more than like 12 tracks.
There should be a plugin that does the same thing as singing it multiple times. Is there one or maybe you guys should create one that jus offsets the vocal same way as when you sing in second or 3 rd time .. It would save a lot of time for us.
With using X Pitch on a group of vocals, did you run the auto key detection process on each of them, since the harmonies are different - or did you run it on one track, then use those notes and key across all of them?
Good question - for this, we set the key and scale to match the beat, so that way all of the stacks were set the same (tuning only to notes within the key and scale). However, if we didn’t know the key and scale, you’d likely want to run it on each part. Also, you could set it by ear using the tone playback button - just find the 7 notes that “go with” the beat and make sure those are turned on, and you should be good to set that across all instances!
@@nuroaudio wonderful thanks for the info! I’ve been enjoying all of the nuro plugins a TON. They’re all so dang smooth and easy to navigate. Didn’t know about the “group” numbers at the bottom, so that’s super super handy to know!
Why do Bgv 1 and Bgv 3 have different tonalities from Bgv 2 and Bgv 4, sounding very hot and saturated? was it recorded that way or processed to be different on purpose? does that do anything for the sound?
Thanks for reaching out! We took another listen and the tonalities are very similar between all of them - they were panned slightly differently though (1 and 3 were panned a little to the left, and 2 and 4 were panned a little to the right) - is it possible that what you were hearing was related to your playback system?

-3 or -6db standard (lead)
Do you still do the "Fix the Mix" episodes?
I want to submit a deep house track and see how you'll mix it so that I can learn from you.
Yes! Please send it to support@nuroaudio.com and we’ll be excited to take a listen!

You can actually do something like that with AI already. (It’s not a plugin though)

As long as harmonic notes are in the same key I don’t think it matters.
