Her unbecoming behavior is due to HIM. He has an insidious way of bulldozing the conversation, and he throws her off balance in the first few minutes of this. I do not believe that he does this consciously. By all the little tricks though, guised behind a calm, warm demeanor, he erodes her sense of validity, and she (frankly, as a codependent) reacts by becoming desperate to be recognized, which produces stress, and that elicits her ADD response which you're seeing. Unfortunately, I don't think the doctor will ever be able to see this, as I have first-hand experience over years with some of the world's elite in various fields, and I've not been able to affect any change in them. They just seem to be missing the capacity to recognize what they are doing, although in other areas they are recognized as the greatest in their fields. They are geniuses, without question. So this isn't meant to be a personal slam against anyone. My particular gift is the empathic ability to "see" energy dynamics. And in this video, it is as clear as a bell to me, in regard to what I'm saying.

Watching Dr. Amen make me so hopeful but experiencing the so-called specialist around me, make me so sad. I told my psychologist that I love horror movies and watches all videos about murder and disappearance, etc. and she asked me why! I told her that it's psychologists who should know. She said may be I am Masochist! Listening to Dr. Amen tells me that is a simple sign of ADD.

I am a 56-year-old female with ADD. I was never diagnosed as a child because I don’t believe the diagnosis didn’t existed at that time. I was tested every year at the beginning of the school year and was put in a pull out program which did not correlate to the subject that I was getting tutored on so inevitably I would do better in whatever I was getting tutored on but I would fall behind on the subject that was Being taught while I was at a class. This circle continued until I hit the end eighth grade. The local high school did not have anything that could help me so they decided I was cured and put me in regular classes life got really bad after that. I was not diagnosed until I was 26 years old and struggling with my 7 year old son and seeing him emulate all of the same problems I dealt with at his age. I still struggle every day and I need help.

How do you know if you have ADD. Your life sucks, everyone calls you a psycho, you think I’ll be better at life this year, but you said that at 18 and now your 40, your family is sick of your “ mood swings” you cry every day and don’t know why you can never get ahead, wonder why God made you this way, worry endlessly hoping your kids don’t have it.... and I could go on and on until I filled this comment section. Mental health is no joke I can’t wait to go home. 😔

My goodness.. Watching this felt like she was talking about my mom. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD at 25 and started medicine and therapy, and I've been watching closely and analysing my whole life and parents and I am certain my mum has it, but she is from the old times and she denies and does not believe that she has anything. Trying hard to not get hyperfocused on this and to try and get it through her head. Trying to fix and help people always got me in trouble in the end.

I’m 55. I am a middle child of eight children. I have two sisters and 5 brothers. I just discovered Dr. Amen about two weeks ago. I learned now I had type 3 Overfocused ADD and type 1 during my teens. My ex husband has type 1, 2, and head injury in car accident ( at 21). We have a daughter, our daughter has the same experience as Dr. Amen’s Briann and my experience with ADD. Brianna was very fortunate that her dad who specializes in the brain-based disorders. She was fixed. The psychologists evaluated my daughter twice, first time was in her second grade, then second time was in her 9 th grade. Their conclusion was she has an auditory memory deficiency. They also tested her IQ, it was 86. That was horrible. They recommended the treatment for it was to just giving her extra times. It seemed working, she graduated from RLS High school with a 3.84 GPA and got accepted to 2+3 pre-dental program with a scholarship. Then She went through an emotional hijack, untreated ADD on set! She declined the program. ( now I know it was an impulse ADD decision). Now at 26, she works part time at Costco with a lower job, but she has an incredible working ethic, she is self-support. However, She is unhappy, feels self-shamed, and thought of ended her life several times. She likes to watch scary movies. She disowned her dad a year ago, then she disowned me a few months ago. I know Amen clinic would be so much beneficial to my daughter’s ADD. I know she get the same type of ADD as me, I had Type 1 and 3.
I also struggled in school from pre-kindergarten to professional school. I dropped out at the end of my first year in my dental professional program. Then I came back and started all over again and was struggled. I noticed at the time, the subjects I was interested I got A+ and the one I wasn’t interested, I received a D. Such as a dental materials. At 26, all suddenly my struggles went away. I got married, started my dental practice, paid off my school loans and office debts. My daughter came three years later. I managed my career, financial, and family life like a pro. However, I noticed my daughter’s learning problem was like mine. I thought maybe she would grow out of it like me. At the time, I felt alone because I have a husband who seemed like on an autopilot. I also felt like I was on eggshells at all times. He liked picking on me for no reason. Now I know I learned he also has untreated ADD. Ì stuck out for almost 15 years with him until he cheated. So I ended our marriage.
Ever since I learned about ADD, I realize my mom has untreated ADD, my mom is 85 and she starts having dementia, her father died at 64 with Alzheimer’s disease, her younger brother is 82 and has a Parkinson disease since he was 67. My family has doctors, dentists, and electrical engineer, however we all have untreated ADD and my nieces and nephews have ADD.
I believe my ADD is under controlled because during my 20s-40s and now 50s, I was eating one meal per day ( because of juggled between career and family life), I didn’t have time to eat, when I eat, I only eat a bowl of mixed greens and wild caught salmon every day, my dental career and drove a stick-shift car helped stimulate my cerebellum because of hands and feet coordination. I also do crochet. I was super lean, energetic, and have a mental clarity. My daughter and my ex- husband were picky eater so they don’t eat like me. I made them something else, like pasta, potatoes, bread, beef, chicken, etc, and now I know some of these caused more damage to their brains and focus. I’m in my 50S,
I have a clean diet, drink apple vinegar before my meals, daily intermittent fasting 5:1:1, supplements, 5K mg of cod liver oils, krill oils, tuna-Omega 3, and salmon fish 7:02 oil, no eating out, walk 3 miles daily, light weights lifting, gardening, salsa dances, karaoke, read, learning new skill or things, drink 2-3 litters of clean water ( rain water catchment), clean air ( live in Maui), exposed to sun ( 40 min), sunset for infrared, and quality sleep 7-8 hrs per night. I have no health problem. I feel that my brain and energy are better than when I was in my 20s-40s. I retired going on 7 years now, I stay very active. I used to play tennis and table tennis. I should get back playing again.
I am planning to bring my daughter and myself to have our brain scan by Amen clinic in October of this year 2023. I would like my daughter to see my brain image so that would encourage her to get treatment. I used 5:1:1 intermittent fasting to balance my sex hormones. My clean diet is between Keto ( estrogen and testosterone) and Mediterranean diet. ( progesterone) As for grains, I only eat organic fermented ancient grain bread ( homemade). I eat grains once per week for my progesterone hormone.
Dr. Amen is correct, healthy brain, better decisions or choices, and better life. Life is a choice! Health is wealth! Health is one part of being wealth. All my life I modeled healthy , I was in a health field. That’s a MUST to be healthy. I’m graceful, happy, and content. 😊
