@GTRZero Hey GtRzero. I was just going by peak hp rpm. TQ is also set at 442 lb-ft / 600 Nm 5000-6500 rpm. Thats what the manufacture says. The c8 z06 can go to 8.6k redline but max power/peak is 8400 to 8500. Thanks for the reply

100% agree....we test drove a plaid and that novelty was gone by the time I got back to carmax....C8 Z06 is where it's at....I'm getting one of yours in like 5 years but I am getting one....after the test drive of C8 I was sold on the Z06...if I had thar much fun at 500hp 670 is going to be crazy fun....
It will be a blast! Teslas are great and I still want one as a commuter or just for thrills here and there. But I would never take it on a road trip over any sports car let alone a C8.

Hello EpicDreamChallenge, Loved this video! I do want a Tesla model S in the future, but I am OLD school and sound is everything! 2ZZ swap in my MR2/S...revs to 8,200RPM and Manual gearbox! S85 in my M5..revs to 8,250 and Manual gearbox. Newer cars can crush my cars, but I do not care. It is the GLORY of a high revving ICE with M/T that feeds my lust for cars. And YES! I do have a smart fortwo, and it is VERY fun! And looking sharply at the C8 Z06. REV HAPPY and last of its breed. Worth mentioning: Cadillac CT4 and CT5, V-Series, with M/T.....again last chance for the REAL experience. P-Chi
PS: Contacted dealer and 300 pre-orders in front of me from this dealer allocation. This results in NO CAR for me until 2025! They asked about pre-order for ZR1, but to be honest I do not want the turbo. YES faster, bla bla, I want the LT6 n/a rev-happy beast. Should go down is history as the most powerful n/a production V8 every produced.
In fairness and apologies for not adding earlier: Should also add Ford's VooDoo engine and that spawned the Gen3 Coyote that now revs to 7,500 RPM.....YUM!
I was 100% down and ready for a base 1LZ Z06 and was hoping to be 85-92k. After seeing where gm is starting their pricing (106k) and considering inflation, the fact we are in the beginning stages of a recession, and the fact that it’s a gm product and mass production plus the fact I would modify mine regardless of warranty it’s a strong no-go. It’ll be worth 75-80k in 3 years (yes this current inflation is not sustainable) and once reality grounds the loss will be too great for me to justify dumping that much into a toy. Fwiw I have a C7 Z06 and a trackhawk as well as a platinum 2020 F250 6.7 as we speak that I got great deals on relatively speaking. I’m fairly comfortable but not stupid with my money. As someone middle class gm has me out priced. I’ll look at a used 570s or a plaid before I pay 107 plus for a mass production gm product that will definitely lose value immediately. This is just my .02 I’m sure many will not have a problem paying what they are asking and I wish them nothing short of the best but I’ll pass.
Owen, wife says wrap the car too. Take a picture of your big face. Get it printed on a sticker and place it on the hood. That will rock with the reflective mood ring vinyl.

I’m still keeping my spot on the list but I’m not a rich person and an extra $20-30k is significant. We shall see where I’m at when my allocation comes.
I feel ya Ryan. What i`m getting at is you don't have to be a rich person. This car is the closest to a pure exotic (minus the Chevy badge) that we may ever see for this price. I have already started doing more to make an extra income to pay for this z06 and hidden fees that I may not see. I have even cut out tv and videogames to do side jobs I want it that bad. My wife is also on the same page as she is pregnant. I would understand if someone has a fam and 2 jobs already and are maxed out time wise. But if you have one job and are ok with getting gritty and sacrifice a few selfish things and doing what it takes to get this car, as long as it doesn't mess up your finances or fam its worth it. And trust me this car will be worth it.

The problem I see is when the dealers get a hold of them that they’re marking them up $25,000/$50,000. I currently own a 2011 1LT. Love the car. Borla/CAI/C7 rims and all blacked out. Ohh yea and a manual. Possible plans to do some mods at some point. She’s my 1st Vette. Over the last 3 years the C8 has grown on me. I want to get a second one at some point. It will more then likely be a C8. Something tells me owning a 2011 C6 and a mid engine vette will be a dream garage scenario. Plus I’d like to have the newest tech. The ZO6 will be a monster but Chevy has gotten away from the real owners of these cars. They are pricing out the avg man. Yes the “market” dictates things but seeing just a z51 package going for over $100,000 prices that avg man out.
I see what your saying. I have never thought of a corvette as a competitor for any exotic 200k plus midengine car till the C8 came out. In my "opinion" anything front engine including Ferraris own front engine lineup and lambo urus dont feel exotic to me either. So when they said flat plane crank 8600 rpm in the z06 I was happy. Even though it is more expensive it s the closest thing to a 300k exotic for around 100 to 160k. If these numbers were in a ferrari it would be 300k+. So for me its the closest thing to a true exotic that the working man will ever be able to afford even if it is 100k+ car since electric is here.👍

When i`m get mine back on the road Ill go get it weighted 👍. Other than the wide body its stock and The addons are light. But if I remember correctly the weight is everywhere with the options. And for sure may be the heaviest out of all those cars.

It’s literally the best sports car you can get regardless of price. I’ve driven Ferrari (488’s) and honestly the interior isn’t as nice as the 3LT Stingray’s.. I hate how you don’t feel the divide between the passenger. I love how the C8 feels like a cozy cockpit.. As for the Z06, I can’t wait to own and drive this car. I’m an early allocation and honestly I would be quite comfortable paying 200k plus for the Z07 pkg, covered in all the carbon fiber money can buy. This is my build Btw. Still hoping for a new surprise exterior color though.🤞🏻

Nobody appreciates GM as a company is the reason people dont see what your saying. They want to be perceived as rich and not car enthusiast. GM is launching a 350,000 dollar EV that technically is the KING of EVs, and people will still think its low brow.
$106k is not the starting price the vast majority are going to be paying and many who can buy at MSRP will be waiting a lot of years. It's probably like a minimum of $25k over and maybe $50k-$75k. My build will be @ $130k and have signed contract for $25k so with T&L, $170k in California. Flippers are going to have problems making it worth while if they can buy a $65k 1LT and make $20k since they like to look at ROI. 2.6 to 60 is with the Z07 option per Chevy. Hard to justify the cost over the base car because in the real world the car doesn't look much different from the base car and the extra acceleration means exactly what. Thinking of just keeping my 3LT, 2020.
Hey Phil. I hope most will pay msrp but honestly I don't know. There are alot of dealers adding a markup to this car unfortunately. I got on a list 3 years ago for the Z06 and i`m looking at one 3 to 6 months after its released if production goes well. I also wont be paying over msrp. So essentially I could be one of the guys that gets it for 106k but that would feel like a injustice for me and how I can option this car. I also live in Oregon so no sales tax. My build is looking like 160k and after gas tax and fees i`m probably no more than 165k if that. I do feel for people that are not in with a good dealer that isnt staying at msrp. And yes the cars look simalar and I really dont car about the 0-60 at all, I want is the flat plane crank, thats it honestly for me. I want to scream at almost 9k rpm. That makes it 100% worth it to me. But thats just me If I was not into high rpm cars I wouldn't even waste me time with it.
Uhhh just wait till the dealership informs that they want an extra 75K+ or more markup. If anyone thinks they are going to drive one home at $106K they're delusional.
I think you need the stickiest tires to get that time. The price is still way below the competition. But honestly 0-60 is not a valid factor in my opinion as real world conditions will mess that time up 95% or more of the time. The only thing that is consistent in o-60 are awd teslas and some awd cars.👍

Your 570s info is wrong I think just a heads up. I had one and I also looked it up it's 8100 rpm not 7500 rpm.

When I put down my deposit in 2020 I estimated $150K for the C8 Z06 HTC 3LZ w/ Z07, so considering inflation pricing is inline with that.

Hey Phil. I hope most will pay msrp but honestly I don't know. There are alot of dealers adding a markup to this car unfortunately. I got on a list 3 years ago for the Z06 and i`m looking at one 3 to 6 months after its released if production goes well. I also wont be paying over msrp. So essentially I could be one of the guys that gets it for 106k but that would feel like a injustice for me and how I can option this car. I also live in Oregon so no sales tax. My build is looking like 160k and after gas tax and fees i`m probably no more than 165k if that. I do feel for people that are not in with a good dealer that isnt staying at msrp. And yes the cars look simalar and I really dont car about the 0-60 at all, I want is the flat plane crank, thats it honestly for me. I want to scream at almost 9k rpm. That makes it 100% worth it to me. But thats just me
If I was not into high rpm cars I wouldn't even waste me time with it.

Uhhh just wait till the dealership informs that they want an extra 75K+ or more markup. If anyone thinks they are going to drive one home at $106K they're delusional.
Some dealers with still keep the car at msrp. But Im already seeing others that where msrp with the standard c8 go over msrp.
Aren't the 0 to 60 times disingenuous don't you need the Z07 package with carbon wheels to get that time in the z06? So 130k minimum on a 1lz for it
I think you need the stickiest tires to get that time. The price is still way below the competition. But honestly 0-60 is not a valid factor in my opinion as real world conditions will mess that time up 95% or more of the time. The only thing that is consistent in o-60 are awd teslas and some awd cars.👍
