Question Tags in English - Grammar Lesson

- How to form QUESTION TAGS in English.
We look at both positive question tags and negative question tags using To Be, Modal Verbs and Auxiliary Verbs.
We also look at how the intonation of a question tag has different meanings.
Finally we highlight irregular question tags such as "Aren't I?" and "Shall we?"

This is a form of usage in English grammar which is a way of speaking informally that whether something is in consonance. It also means frankness when used in conversation. This is a good example of power of English language as a tool for effective communication.

Could you please tell me if this sentence is correct in your opinion "We'll meet at 12.00, shall we?" One of the books gives this sentence as an example of tag questions.
They should say "Let's meet at 12, shall we?" so maybe they were using the future WILL as a type of invitation.... which would make sense.

Great effort! The first part needs to be a statement ( or sentence) instead of a question. Don't forget the comma.

We have only one question tag in Russian: Так ведь? which is pronounced "Tak ved". It is translated "This is it, right?"

Hi, i recently did a test that had this : I supposed it's time we called it a day,.........What is the question tag in this ? A friend told me it should be : ISN'T IT?

The first part needs to change a little. It should say "I suppose it's time..." Suppose needs to be in the simple present tense.
Then it should be:
I suppose it's time we called it a day, isn't it?

I could use the excuse of saying it is spaced repetition learning (repeating words again over certain intervals in order to help retain them in the memory) ... but the reality is that some days I just LACK originality when I have to think of examples. :)
When I look at old worksheets I created at my language school, there were A LOT of examples using parties, going to bars, and drinking wine... oh, and chocolate. I thought it would best to avoid those on TH-cam as these videos are often shown to kids at schools.
