    Everyone has the right to there opinions. But Jeter no matter what showcases that negatively won't ever get him down. He's a class act for life and knows how to speak especially to reporters he's a thinker and he always remains steps ahead in the game

    • @2011blueman
      @2011blueman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's definitely NOT a class act. They've slashed the payroll while paying themselves more than almost every other owner in the league. In other words they're running the team into the ground and just collecting the revenue sharing money from the other teams in the league. That's not a class act.

      Leggo My Ego you are entitled to your opinion but put yourself in his shoes its big shoes to fill as a owner and the process of fixing something that is broken takes time and patience.

    • @2011blueman
      @2011blueman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that fixing the team would take time, but you would have expected that they would have started to make moves to do that by now, whereas instead the moves they've made have been to intentionally make the team worse. The problem is that we've already seen this story play out before with the previous owner.

    The only way I am going to stop being a Derek Jeter fan is if he makes Don Mattingly endure season after season of losing and then fires him once the team gets rebuilt. That would anger me greatly. Donnie Baseball is a class act and a legend. He would deserve better than that. As a fellow Yankee legend Jeter had better do right by him.

    • @2011blueman
      @2011blueman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since they've already said they have no intention of rebuilding and have actually slashed the payroll even further this season than last season, it looks like you're going to stop being a Jeter fan.

    • @thelawofdivineoneness458
      @thelawofdivineoneness458 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You read my comment but you didn't grasp it. I am talking about the future, not this season. They can't slash payroll forever. They are going to have to build a team and when they do, Mattingly should be allowed to stay. So no, I hopefully won't have to stop being a Jeter fan.

    • @2011blueman
      @2011blueman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "They can't slash payroll forever." What exactly makes you say that? Are you not familiar with the Marlin's history under the ownership of Jeffrey Loria. To get Miami to build them a new stadium they agreed to field a competitive team so they boosted the payroll. Then as soon as the stadium was built they traded/sold off all their stars and massively cut payroll. The team has been like that since then, and now that Bruce Sherman is the owner (Jeter only owns 4% but is the CEO), they've cut payroll even more. There is ZERO indication that they ever intend to build a competitive team.

    • @thelawofdivineoneness458
      @thelawofdivineoneness458 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. Well then, since Jeter only owns 4% then obviously he doesn't have full autonomy and doesn't have final say on every decision. You can't have it both ways. You can't blame him for the team possibly not rebuilding even though you know that Bruce Sherman is the majority owner. If you want to blame someone then blame Sherman. All I know is that Jeter hasn't failed at much in his life if at all. He needs to be given a chance to implement his plan. He said he has a long term strategy to rebuild the team and deserves the benefit of the doubt at least for now. We will know soon enough if the whole thing is a scam. No one can predict that Miami will win the World Series under Jeter's tenure but I trust the he can help build a respectable and competitive team. All we can do is stay tuned and see what happens. But for goodness sake never try to equate Derek Jeter to Jeffrey Loria who was only in it for a money grab. That's the reason he wanted a new stadium in the first place. Loria was never even remotely interested in winning.

    • @2011blueman
      @2011blueman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeter is still CEO and has full managerial control. Of course he couldn't boost the payroll by 50 million without Sherman's approval but he could have at least made some moves to actually improve the club, but so far he has ONLY made decisions that have made the team worse.

      Disagree, HOF is the museum of pro baseball. Steroids was THE story of the nineties and aughts for MLB, more ink was spilled about MLB's PED issues than any other sport. If status quo remains, 20 years from now a visitor to the HOF will have no clue such an event occurred. That's not history, that's company public relations.

      Wahta a ismtake by the Yankees. Stanton is overpaid, can't run the bases, gets hurt all th time and now that is hurting the Yankees right now. Jeter looks smart now getting rid of Stanton. Oh yeah, trading Ozuna was a great move also. Not only Sandy Alcantara turning to be a good pitcher, but Ozuna is now having issues with the law for attempting to choke his wife.

  • @hahaclintondix2815
    @hahaclintondix2815 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't get why there is all the hate on Jeter for trading stanton and dee gordon. The marlins are a failing franchise that has very low attendance numbers even though they had the NL mvp last year and they still couldnt get people to show up.

    • @2011blueman

      Because Jeter is paying himself almost more than any other CEO in baseball while running the team into the ground. Their plan from day one has been to slash the payroll even further than it had been and simply collect the revenue sharing money.

The Marlins hasn't been a true Florida team since they changed it to Miami. Based on what he hired for the staff, they might as well move to New York and call them, the New York Mullets!

    why do owners get rid of good players that are producing and yet some how the team doesn't go anywhere. The Mets got rid of Angel Pagan and went to San Francisco and they won a world series with him the same with the Marlins they get rid of good players and go nowhere, the Yankees had Clemens, Petit, Jeter, Giamby, Posada, Bernie Williams, a bunch of great players and won a couple of World Series in the 90s this tells me YOU HAVE TO GET THE BEST! invest on some money on high producing players.

    • @RockBottom45
      @RockBottom45 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, you can get the best, if you have the money. The marlins simply don't. Also I (as a Yankee fan) see, that money can't fix anything, or when have "we" won the last WS? :)
      Investing money is good. But the thing is: For the best players in game, salaries are increasing very high for a couple of % more, that they give. For Stantons money you may get 2 or 3 productiv young players, who will not be MVP candidates, but will be necc. to build up the overall level of the marlins.
      Let's face it. The Marlins have a good fielding and hitting team, but terrible pitching and with their also bad sponsoring and a devastating tv deal, there won't be any money for WS pitching left.
      I think it's a good thing to try to build up the marlins from the bottom. Work on your prospects. Try to build a good qualitatively hitting and pitching team. Raise your incomes, your stats and develop a solid underground for future stars, which you can afford. If you have a nice overall team and money is left, then pay a MVP player, not the other way round.
