Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. Even when he was involved in a scuffle he was charismatic. This is how you solve problems in life: you ask the person WTF BRO? and try to develop an understanding with them. He didn't mind getting thrown at... just told them to keep it down. You'll be missed kid. I always kept my eye on his starts from out here in California.

As a Braves fan and a former player, I'll say Fernandez had every right to be upset. You can see him say multiple times that he understood if he was going to get hit, just don't throw at his head. That's not the way that is supposed to be handled.
Fernandez wasn't perfect, but he seemed like a genuinely good kid and an extremely talented ballplayer, and baseball is worse for having lost him.

Before you wrap up your short sighted opinion on him I think you would enjoy and benefit from some research on the brief but extraordinary life of Jose Fernandez. He truly was a great kid who was raised the right way and had a tremendous future ahead. Hall of Fame career (potentially) & had the respect of the entire league --save for a minor leaguer in Ramirez. I expect a "Made for TV" movie on his life within 5 yrs

this Braves 'pitcher' started toward Fernandez before Fernandez even had a chance to complain. SO OBVIOUS - the pettiness. totally and obviously intentional throwing at him. BUT after what happened today, is this just the game? It is really bad for the game. But I'm really glad that Fernandez stood up against it. This is the childish aspect of this game. But Fernandez has always demonstrated you can be childish, innocent and decent in playing this game, but more importantly, a great baseball player. Has Fernandez ever gone after hitter like this?

This happens all the time in baseball. Notice how you didn't complain until after his tragic death. As a braves fan Fernandez will dearly missed. For what he brought to the game, baseball is secondary to life. But Ramirez was making a baseball play that happens all the time. You were never going to complain in the first thing. Don't try to push hate to Ramirez

I played baseball - more than high school, in fact legion. Yah, I know. but you completely mischaracterized me by claiming I hate or am trying to push hate toward Ramirez, taking advantage of the situation. you are taking advantage of me making a relevant point about the sport. I'm sure Ramirez knew Fernandez better than both of us so I offer my condolences to Ramirez, if that makes you happy. I've been hit by a 90+ mph fastball, I've played this game - not minor or major league, but I've played it with better than amateurs. My points, which you mischaracterized, are, Look at how ramirez, after throwing a bad, or intentionally malicious pitch, walked right toward Fernandez, expecting a fight. so it's a mistake pitch he knew he threw?? then the split second after releasing the ball walked at the hitter expecting the fight??? who started this? this happens in baseball all the time - yep I've experienced it, BUT it is stupid. that is my point. Yep, I only saw this video today b/c of the spotlight on Fernandez, as I am trying to find things to appreciate what Fernandez gave to the sport. and I have found a lot I was not aware of. like his amazing slider, breaker and fastball. You can try to discredit anyone who is now reacting as being out of your league. I don't care. But when I see this, I can make the statement I'd hope others would agree with about this issue in the sport. And I offer my sincerest condolences to your Ramirez.

you throw a pitch that bad - you should be ejected, charged by the batter, and beaten. No excuse. Horrible, stupid pitch, stupid anyone who supports it, stupid and idiotic to try to play the role of major league pitcher, who should be in junior leagues all the way. no, should by in little school baseball.

Dumb logic to be honest. If only someone had shot him in the leg! Then he wouldn't be on the boat! If only someone had thrown a baseball at his head! And then he wouldn't be on the boat!
You can literally list a billion things that would have saved his life, but they didn't happen. He's gone.

Man I miss watching this young man play. He had a fire burning inside to play, it was awesome to watch how much fun he had, but I don't blame him a but for being ready to throw down with the pitcher and catcher there. That was dangerous as hell, and honestly Jose was a big dude, I think with a sufficient reason he would have absolutely wrecked flowers and the pitcher if they had let him. Aaron Judge reminds me of Jose a bit in his love of the game, but I've watched them throw at him too and I'm waiting for that one pitcher (there are several who need a good beat down in the league right now, who throw at people intentionally with no regard to their careers and safety) to take aim at Judge and it'll be one time too many and there's not a catcher in the league who is going to stop him if he decides to charge, he's just going to have be careful not to kill the guy with a single punch.
