Not me hiding in the bus 😂😂. Thank you guys for the rescue, thank you to the towing company that told us to call y’all (even though they couldn’t come get us), and thank you so much to the couple that had to do the slots in the dark because they were kind enough to let us use their phone to make all of those desperate phone calls. Verizon… of course they’d have bars in Escalante. It’s amazing how many people have found out about Escalante since the first time I’ve been out there. This was the first time I’ve probably been thankful for the “crowd” because if this was even 5 years ago we would’ve been screwed 😮💨
Love that area and thinking about spending a couple weeks there this fall. I've been starting my John Deere tractor with the screwdriver 'key' for several years. I kinda wished that guy would have wanted to see exactly what you did to jump the solenoid starter in case he stalled it out, shut it off or next starter failure. 5 min jump solenoid lesson versus a $1,200 big rig tow bill. Glad you helped him, thanks.

I've seen our off road rescue community do some amazing things for stranded people over the years. There are people that will drop everything and drive for hours to rescue folks. All people have to do is post their GPS coordinates, a picture if they can, and a phone number if they can.
I've been to Escalante. Needed to make a call. No service. Asked a convenience store clerk. She said, go to the high school and stand next to the flag pole. Bingo. 4 bars.
I've said this countless times, you're not only a good person, but also someone that anyone would be proud to call a friend. Much love from Tennessee ❤
Thanks Mechelle for finally answering my question from three months ago. I wanted a hoody but will only by the heavy weight as I’m constantly out on the farm in the winter and the light weight ones just don’t cut it. I’ll send my sister down from Panguitch to pick me one up.
I was so sucked in to this video that sighed with happy relief when I heard that starter crank over, and had a big smile on my face when that engine caught. Whew!. Great job. That was one happy bus driver. I hope that trip was cheaper for the guy since you didn't have to tow him out, but I know just the time and the trip must have been a substantial amount even without the tow. Everything is so expensive these days, and time is money. But it's also nice to give people a break when you can.
Watched an older FabRat video and wanted to comment on diesels. Carbs don't last a month sitting here in the heat due to the goat piss gas. One time I was working on an old John Deere back hoe that hadn't run in 15 years. (Diesel engine of course.) The owner had lost the key, and I was trying to figure out which wires to hot wire it. When I just barely touched the starter wires, it started and sat there idling perfectly!! I swear it didn't even make a quarter turn and it was running! What a difference compared to the problems we fight with today's gas!!! Vettepilot

There were other people around the stranded guy, I'm surprised nobody knew how to get it going and offered to help. Every time I've seen someone stuck or broken in a remote area, everyone stops to help and there's always someone with enough mechanical knowledge to get it going if at all possible.
That guy is from the South and you showed some "southern" hospitality out west going all the way over over there to help him out. He'll be talking about this forever.

Had a mechanic come out.. threw a air dryer on.took him for like $3k.then never came back to finish or help him. He gotten under back.saw air tank blew out.order a tank. I'm proud of you both for taking care of a stranded stranger a bit outside of your normal area. Getting him running again and on his way safely as possible with the condition of the bus was a great day. Besides you guys had a good time to be alone and have man time.

Nice job guys! Reminds me of a Bible verse: Matthew 12:11-12 NKJV [11] Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? [12] Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Paul I’m making you a honourable Aussie you are the best
5:05 the way Land is looking at his dad lol I believe that's the "I respect you dad" look lol
When you are in the service of your fellow man, you are in the service of God. I'm sure going out to help someone who needs it is an OK reason to miss church. Good work!
That guy was super lucky to have you guys come out and help. Great troubleshooting as always, Paul!
Peek-a-boo is one of the slot canyons on hole in the rock road.
The bus was in the Peekaboo parking lot.
22 Years in the Marine Corps , came up through the ranks as a recover mechanic. Loved it when we could get a vehicle up and running vice towing it in. Learned how to do all kinds of crazy repairs from a Vietnam vet who showed us some amazing stuff that would save our butts in a combat environment.
The knowledge you have to just walk up to a vehicle, diagnose and get it started is really great! Keep doing what you’re doing.
Loved it… my 5th great grandfather was part of the expedition down through the hole in the rock. Zachariah B Decker
Thank you for helping The bus Man ❤
Just makes a guy happy.
In my younger days I went to Las Vegas every year and the times I drove thought St George area was so cool, I'd love to get back to that area again
We camped out there a few years ago, it was beautiful. Slot canyons galore. Went up to Lower Calf Creek Falls too, which is awesome.
Nice job guys! Reminds me of a Bible verse: Matthew 12:11-12 NKJV
[11] Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? [12] Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
Love watching the Fabrats! 15:53
Such pretty weather out there fellas! Time for crawling!!!see ya on the trails.
Your a legend Paul, much love from down under 🇦🇺
That great feeling when I go to make my daily vote on OnX offroad builds, and see the fab Rats jump up the ranks 🤙 bout time!!
Missing church sucks. But helping someone in need is just as important imo. Love the Fab Rats content
Thank You
You need some hand wipes in your truck so you don't get your steering wheel and stuff all greased up. Thanks for helping him out.
Favorite place we hiked. Cafe Creek Canyon to the falls.
wow! diagnosed the problem and got it running! seems like whenever Paul and Landon show up in the Fab Rats wrecker, well, heck, it's kinda like Batman and Robin arriving in the Batmobile! 😁 great results and a great video.
This channel does more than entertain. You lead by example. And the comment section is proof there are still good people in the world who appreciate the good in other people. Thank you.
Another great job done by the Fabrats crew!!!!
That was really nice of you two going out and getting the guy going. I hope some day this good deed will come back to you. Take care. Great video. 😊
Any "solenoid" issues aside, this is certainly the best ever fab rats video I've ever seen....

I jumped the starter on a VW when I was 18 and it was in gear and had the rear tire stop centered on my chest. Had a tire tred bruise on my chest for about a month. Lucky is was a bug and not something heavier.
You drove through some beautiful, rugged country.
Awesome they definitely need to be more people like you going to help someone and nobody else would that's just sad of them
You are good people!!!!
