- In this video I get my hands on the Furitek Tegu 24 PRO esc and rx combo with Bluetooth. I also take a deeper dive into the Furitek FuriCar app and try my hand at customizing throttle curves to suit my driving style. This is a great option for a brushless conversion and for combining with the Furitek Avatar transmitter. I document unboxing of the unit, installation, binding, tuning via the Furitek Furicar App, and provide my thoughts on this combo. Enjoy!

Can you use the Furitek or even like a FlySky GT5 on both the scx24 and a txr4m? What all do you need if so? Do you only need a TX and RX or do you also need a new esc for each model also? Thx. Great content.
Hello I have this tegu 24 pro also the Komodo mini… but I would like to use my futaba transmitter… am I going to have to buy that dang furitek transmitter to be able to use this stuff?
I cannot confirm as my Tegu hasn't arrived yet but on 1/10 scale I'd try raising the FOC value...it will smooth out the transitions...by design it is to keep the same power to the wheels at different vehicle orientations. This should fix the jumping a bunch, hope it helps.

What brand of 3s batterys do you recommend?
I've been running the spektrum 300mah 3S batteries. I like them a lot! They're inexpensive, small, and have good run time.

Very cool addition. I am having a hard time with the price of the Avatar so probably no all in one esc/receiver for me, but it does look like a nice setup.
It is on the high end of transmitter/RX upgrades.
Kinda sucks that the stock esc doesn’t work with the furitek if I knew this long time ago I wouldn’t have bought 4 broncos 😅
It’s a bummer the V2 doesn’t maintain that compatibility of the V1. It’s a big added cost of the conversion, especially if you’ve got 4 of them!
@@CapeCrawlers yeah it’s nuts I f up lol specially when one oh the broncos weight in over 1kg and non of the plug in motors can move it up a slope

You'll need to get the Avatar transmitter as well and thats a big investment to run a brushed motor. But it will give you added functionality to adjust your throttle curve, drag brake, etc. So I would say if you plan to go to a brushless motor in the near future, sure. If you are happy with your current motor, I don't think it's necessary.
Yeah I’m the same way matching components, I’ll have to check out that speed controller I do have their monster truck could use this to clean up wire management

I’m in Orlando I had some water damage in the house during IAN, it has been a crazy month for me fixing everything I can myself getting the house in order because dealing with these insurance companies is a pain in the neck. Yeah sure I have a bunch of 1/10’s collecting dust in the garage due to the lack of a good place to run them. Even thought about selling them. I got into the 1/24 scales but really haven’t got the time to enjoy them.

Have you worked out that bump in speed? Also can the avatar be used on more than one vehicle?
Considering getting it since I already run an older Tagu, and would like a second one.
I've smoothed it out considerably but it's not gone completely. The Avatar can store 10 different trucks as long as they all run Furitek rx's

Yeah I’m still fiddling with my avatar I do like that new speed controller, ain’t got that one yet, got my other Max smasher yesterday the blue one Think I’m going to paint the white one black my favorite color for my RC’s . keeping your electronics clean is the worst!
I have a sudgestion about the wires you should coil them up on a screwdriver and then heat up with a hair dryer as it makes it look great inside and be less messy
Great tip! I've since learned the coiling, but the hair dryer is a great idea.

No, I don’t believe you can. The tegu is exclusive to the avatar I am fairly certain
That's kinda my problem with this, you use a plug for your motor, one for your steering servo, one for your front bumper lights & before then, you feel like you're running out of plugs for anything else, would be my issue. One reason why I think I might stick with the stock ESC since it has more plug ins. 🤔
Very true. You've only got the one plug for auxiliary components, If I had put this on the deadbolt and used the 4WS, there would be nowhere else to plug any future accessories in unless I wanted the Furitek LED light kit specifically.

I don’t believe so. I am fairly sure the tegu is specific to the avatar and vice versa

Pro tip: I ordered the smaller plugs for my NSDRC servo. I can get rid of those chunky adapters and save some space.

Very nice 👌 I use a tegu micro komodo in fcx24 . I hear ya I want it to help clean up the electronics the struggle is real trying to fit it all in. I run the lights and I personally really like them being able change what they do in the app
The LED light control in the app is impressive! I don't have the kit so I can't comment first hand, but I bet it's awesome!

The only thing i dont like about the Avatar is its lack of buttons, and switches. I doubt it, but I wonder if a radiolink TX would bind to one one these.
It is a minimalist design. The joystick function is nice, but I would almost rather have more buttons available for instant toggling on/off of various functions.
@@CapeCrawlers I'm a tactical person. I like having buttons, and switches readily available, vs menu diving everytime I want to do something. Hopefully they come out with a non-minimalist design, because it's really the only thing stopping me from choosing it.

I bought one of the very 1st Tegu's back when Furitek was just emerging onto the scene and I haven't been disappointed one single second, Great system pairs with the Komodo ! I am seriously looking at a Cayman and another Tegu.
This is my first experience with the Tegu. It's a very nice piece of hardware!
How do u record your runs
I use my iPhone either by hand or with a small gimble. I drive with the left hand and record with the right

Can you just replace the sec with the stock one and not have to change your receiver

can you put the furitek esc in and not have a brushless motor or new receiver
@@all-natty I know you can use the Lizard Pro with bluetooth esc with a brushed motor and stock transmitter (V1 electronics only). This specific Tegu I dont think you can. But the Lizard Pro is a cool addition because you still get all of the customization options for your throttle curve, drag brake, etc. via the app on a brushed setup.
