Any Muslim who watch (listen) to Dr. Qadhi's lecture on this subject need to look or listen no further. Brothers, that was a classic lecture, it was fair and square void of any sect bias, thanks for the lecture Dr.

Maashalla Tabaarakalla Sheikh Yaasir. Great job explaining the position of Sunni. May allah bless all of us with tolerance and appreciation for each others perspective as we pray for sincere guidance for the erring faction. Aamin. Ishaq Jumbe. Kenya.

I am a sunni from the sub-continent, you can understand what kind of hateful sectarian environment i was in. But i must confess i never gave in to that hate. I have limited understanding of this subject like most common muslims. I'm deeply grateful to the speakers for sharing their honest and sincere knowledge. What we need is a common ground, reunification and unity. Let us be one ummah again. The Ummah of RasulAllah (SAW). Insha'Allah one day we will be. I'm a huge fan Dr. Yasir because his lecture's arent biased and one sided. He is a man of immense knowledge. May Allah bless you.

We can not thank you for all this knowledge and wisdom. I have been a follower of Sheikh Qadhi for some time now, and I can only ask God to bless him and the rest of the scholars for all the knowledge he gaves us over the years. I really feel ashamed sometimes for getting all this for free. I’m of Algerian origins, grew up there until the early twenties, then left to settle in North America. We were fed a lot of lies and propaganda when we were kids in school about Shia. We were literally told that they believe that the Imam Ali was supposed to be the messenger....instead of Mohamed, peace be upon him. It was so bad, very little information was given, and you were discouraged to even search for answers. Just for your info, I was born in 73. I knew deep in me, that something didn’t add up in their stories. I have to admit that I never really connected with any of the scholars....until I heard Dr Qadhi one day. The style, the eloquence, the knowledge...He’s got this incredible ability to merge Islamic knowledge and HISTORY, very important to be able to do that. God bless you all, it’s an incredible 3 parts video, lot lots of great info.

May Allah bless YQ and increase him in knowledge and truth, rectify his mistakes, and protect him from deviation. Something that he must voice more clearly, is the dissociation of Yazid from the Qustuntunya, and some similar things..

Yasir Qadhi! You sir are an absolute delight to listen to. As a Shia I would actually recommend your presentation on the topic as a template to follow to answer the question being discussed academically. With respect I do not think the Shia perspective was answered with academic vigour! Thank you AMI for arranging such bridge building initiatives!

Well I would disagree yes it refreshing to see a Sunni cleric/academic admit some home truths but let's not go overboard just because of his popularity.
There was still shying away from other truths. To come out with Ahmad ibn Hanbal didn't believe in doing la'an was such feeble cope out.
We follow Rasool'Allah & Quran they do la'an on enemies on Allah (swt) & prophet (sawa) no debate on that at all. The Quran is very clear it is easy to bring many verses.
Yazeed case is black & white. it embarrassing for anyone to try excuse him but the argument there were the likes of ibn Tamiyyah & ibn Arabi who don't really condemn Yazeed but at least they don't defend his actions like some modern day salafi/sunni isn't such noble quality.
This shows getting to move an inch on a view is seen an huge achievement. This is how much history been distorted.
Yes credit to Yasir Qadhi honest no doubt he come a long way from viewing shia as kaffirs to be able to scrutinise present day sunni views.
As for claim shia didn't scrutinise their veiws this is Yazeed we are talking about. the view of the ahlulbayt are clear cut on him no debate. Jaffer Ladak did scrutinise if shia view had changed if it had become politicalised.
We know when go to local centres in muharram it is about tragedy of Karbala that isn't used for politics in local centres.
You sound like you just agreed with everything Sheikh Yasir Qadhi said but no shia should not agree with it all academically.
When Yasir Qadhi had say he was getting emotional it showed huge gulf of what tragedy of Karbala means to real shia & other Muslims. They can argue it had no theological significance to them. But there is never denying even in classical shi'i view it significance among ahlulbayt

Here's a question that I would ask these people if I could, but I'll go ahead and ask whoever sees this in the comments. If you were a believing Muslim living through this on-again off-again civil war period,
And assuming you are well informed of all the relevant information about the matter,
Which leadership would you have backed, in terms of the competing claims? What course of action would you have recommended prior to Karbala and the final breach, in order to avoid such a tragedy?
Is there any leader within this time frame that you would have chosen to fight for? Again, if you were well informed while living within that time frame, is there anyone that you would have trusted to the extent that you would fight for him?
If you don't see a leader within that time frame that you would fight for, when is the first time after the rupture that you do see a Muslim caliph that you would fight for? Is it within the Ummayad dynasty or after that?

"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islām as religion" Quraan 5:3.. This is a clear cut verse that the Islamic faith has been perfected and completed in the lifetime of the Prophet (PBUh).. and thus anything that happened subsequently is IRRELEVANT from a theological point of view.. Weather its succession (Khelfah) or death of Hussein

But Zaidis have changed? This is strange of Yasir Qadhi to say this

    • @faraazkhan4943
      @faraazkhan4943 2 ปีที่แล้ว

He said Zaidis have NOT changed in 800 years, but a strand of sunnism has recently started targetting them due to recent political situation.

So if you know the reality of Yazeed then it’s ok to curse. We agree on this.

Let’s everybody go and see what Ahlul-Bayt (as) say about yazeed, good places to start and end the bulk of this discussion. Where are the Sunni traditions from Ahlul-Bayt (as), the Sunni scholar of yesterday what did they build their options on if it wasn’t from Ahlul-Bayt (as), don’t we have an obedience to them (as) regardless of sect?
