Dear Jussi, Jer Elsker Jig your singing! Such grace, such beauty, such elegance in your voice, though the recording is almost 8 decades old! At 77 years of age, you rekindled romance in my heart! So grateful! Sing now to the angels in your new abode, in heaven! Thanks for the post! Jamshed K Delvadavala Mumbai.
Your "apologies for the poor sound."? No, Afro, my unbounded thanks for posting this wonderful and touching performance! It is I, and others, who should be grateful for your upload. The gods simply lent us this great tenor, for just a short time too, before bringing him back to the heavens - to enchant them now for evermore!
Nice photo of Jussi with "The Hammer of Thor" Swedish boxer and former world heavyweight champion Ingemar Johansson! Bravo! I have a feeling that Jussi was more of a lover than a fighter although he was equally good singing Calaf as he was Rodolfo :)
@@mrcrazyforever1900 No, the composer is Norwegian. The poem is in Danish by Hans C. Andersen. But Danish is a more cumbersome language, singingwise :-). Jussi also opted for semi-norwegian/swedish in the song Så tag mit Hjerte by Alvén, text by Danis Tove Ditlevsen.
Considering he sang in 5 or 6 different languages even though only speaking Swedish and English, I take my hat off to him! I'd say few tenors get that right!

What's there to dislike? Dictionary definition of dislike: to regard with displeasure, antipathy, or aversion.
