Almost every single human being in existence has heard this song. And yet, it's physically impossible to figure out the title without spending more than an hour on it
You're joking... right? Edvard Grieg literally wrote this song as a joke and basically called it so bad he couldn't stand listening to it. It was composed with the intent to be awful and call out songs for being too nationalistic. I love how the pictures makes it look like we are actually travelling into the hall of the mountain king. Like, it first starts off with a mountain, then it shows a castle's exterior and interior, and it ends with a king on a throne with his army.
Lol, GoT brodha
Exactly!
Yeah and it gets crazier throughout the song.

Ironic that the piece Grieg hated the most would be the one to become truly timeless.
Equally ironic that Beethoven disliked his 5th symphony and yet that turned out to be his most famous work.
Tchaikovsky hated the 1812 overture yet it's one of the things he's known for
What is with great artists hating their best pieces?
@@lewislw4344 b/c they feel like a sellout?...dunno
@@brainscott8198 because their best pieces came in the middle of their path, and whatever they made, it was always in the shadow of the works than made them famous

You're joking... right?
Edvard Grieg literally wrote this song as a joke and basically called it so bad he couldn't stand listening to it. It was composed with the intent to be awful and call out songs for being too nationalistic.
Grieg's feelings about this song in his own words: "For the Hall of the Mountain King I have written something that so reeks of cowpats, ultra-Norwegianism, and 'to-thyself-be-enough-ness' that I can't bear to hear it, though I hope that the irony will make itself felt."
The theme song of when you can’t find your mom at the store
1:41 When you’re a grown ass man though
Stuart!
How old are you?
Yes lol
Yes that's true🤣🤣
I once had a biology teacher make every answer on a test "c" except for the one to the final question. Once people started to realize that somerhing was off, the whole atmosphere turned into this song.
Not sure who the mountain king is, but he must have a cool hall.
A literal troll. Trust me, you don't want to be anywhere near this hall when this piece starts. That fast bit? That's trolls wanting to kill the human protagonist by roasting him on a spit.
