i still cant get over the fact that the actress that plays maddy is 31 years old. i love how she plays maddy. they could have gone with the a funny cat fight between her and cassy but i love that they went with the emotional route and she delivered. i dont care if people complain about her being another spicy latina trope. there is enough nuance imo

I feel like they didn't do it that well since not many people pick up on it. But the head of the costume department for the show said Nate was dressing up Cassie as a mixture of Jules and Maddie. A lot of people only pick up on the Maddie part of it. But the paler skin, pastel colors, straight blonde hair, babydoll look, is basically season 1 Jules.

that’s real life tho, artists often use their real life experiences to portray their emotions and perspectives (which, unfortunately, means that other peoples shit gets mixed in). Not to excuse her behavior, but it’s certainly not the craziest or most cruel thing a character on this show has done…😬
as if artists don't do that ALL the time ???? the play is more about lexi's life and how she was affected by everything going on in her friends' lives, it wasn't just about her friends. none of them cared any less about it when the play really kicked in anyway so we shouldn't have to either. she "used her sister's trauma", but you completely ignore the fact that cassie's trauma IS ALSO lexi's trauma... they were raised the same way, just because we saw more of cassie's backstory doesn't mean she had it any harder
The thing is I love Cassie and Nate character because i know how much Sydney and Jacob are different from them and so good actors. Honestly all the cast of the show give amazing performance time after time.

I genuinely can’t STAND most musicals. I can never take it seriously when someone just randomly breaks out in song💀 Especially if it’s a serious moment and then all of a sudden music starts playing, I’m IMMEDIATELY pulled out of the atmosphere of the situation and just annoyed. I can only tolerate it if it’s supposed to be a funny thing, or add to the comedy of the situation, and the songs have to be really catchy. But even then, too many songs still makes me hate it…
cassie makes nate control her, because she has deep daddy issues, and is searching for male attention and love and i think she feels like nate only likes her because he can control her. good reaction tho❤️
If I’m not mistaken, the set isn’t really that professional looking. Think back to the “did somebody die in this dress” scene. She had a wig & the corpse dress. On stage, it was a different dress & maybe extensions or her hair instead of the wig.
