I learned to Paul finebaum was after the national championship game with Texas and Alabama. His tears right now and just absolute woe is me Sky is falling Mentality is nothing but joy for me.
His game is going to get old fast, though I was pleasantly surprised by this weeks after game press conference… not as combative, not aggressively against the press and race baiting for no reason. Why any college blue blood would hire Prime is beyond me… his appeal doesn’t work on everyone and really all he offers is marketing. He has good coaches to do the actual coaching while he’s the face. The issue is, even if he got the Bama job should Saban retire, they are just going to lose him the second Jerry comes calling.
You can say the same for Saban. Saban brings in great coaches and coordinators. A few of the top 20 NCAA teams have head coaches who came from Saban’s Alabama program. Sanders has already outperformed the previous Colorado coach in just two games. The statement you made sounds more subjective than objective.
Brother, I am a 50 year old man that grew up less than 60 minutes from Neyland Stadium so you can imagine I have had orange blood ever since I learned what a football was some 40 plus years ago and as much as I hate Alabama. I think this conversation is F'n stupid as stupid gets, yet it happens every year when Nick Saban takes a loss. People start talking s*** like this. It's still freaking Saban & Alabama. They are not going anywhere and this is a volunteer fan saying this. I won't be surprised if they're number one come Playoff time.
SEC West is so overrated this year (like most) except now they won't be able to coast on Bama's achievements. A&M still looks awful, Auburn barely squeaked by Cal (Cal!) and both of the "Elite" teams lost their only difficult non conference games. But we'll still have to hear the SEC'S propaganda department ESPN exclaim how there should always be 2 or 3 SEC teams in every 4 team playoff. There is no way Finebaum and especially Dinich, aren't getting paid most of their salary by the SEC
@jay__I - Agreed on Finebaum !!! Neither of these clowns really know anything about college football - they are both just glorified newspaper reporters.
People can say whatever they want about how bad the transfer portal and the Advent of NIL deals is to the game of college football, but from my vantage point and my opinion it is made a huge difference in weakening some of those perennial power houses that have traditionally been able to skirt NCAA rules by things like compensating players by putting them to work in their car dealerships.
Don't forget that Jalen Milroe de-committed from the Longhorns a few days after Ewers transferred from Ohio State to Texas. I guess he knew he couldn't compete then and he can't compete now.
Texas dropped 2 TDs and missed a field goal. It should've and could've been worse. Bama only had the lead for one minute of the entire game. There's no doubt who the better team was.
All Texas fans have been hearing for the past year is how we don’t know what we’re getting into, and we’re not ready. We’ve been treated by SEC fans like we’re a bunch of punks. This is exactly how Nebraska treated us when we joined the Big 12 back in 1996. Take a look at what Texas did to them when both teams were still in the same conference. Texas doesn’t win all it games, but we made a statement yesterday.
But but but bama has the biggest offensive line in the world and nobody can stop their murder ball and they have the # 1 recruiting class. Bama just hasn’t looked the same over the past 4-5 years. Even in 2020 when they dominated they were loaded on the perimeter but both lines of scrimmage have lost their gigantic advantage consistently over the past 5 years. They used to just line up and dominate and overwhelm you with their size strength and talent. They don’t overwhelm teams up front anymore like they used to. Teams aren’t scared anymore. I remember when the Alabama defensive front 7 wouldn’t allow anyone to run for a single yard.
Don't know why this doesn't get mentioned as much. Obviously they've had some amazing skill position players and some excellent secondary stars the last few years - but they just don't seem to have that push you around the line of scrimmage on both sides advantage that they used to.
I’m very excited about Texas getting the W against Alabama. I’ve been a Texas fan for over 30 years. But I’m not ready to say that in 2023 Texas is a better team than Alabama. They were better last night, over the years I’ve seen Texas have a big win, then suck it up the rest of the season. I’ve also seen Bama get stunned early in the season, and turn around and win or make a run for the National Championship. I hope this win is a sign for things to come, and I hope Texas is better than Bama. But I would not bet on it.
Bama mauled the Big 12 Champ in the bowl game. Texas lost 5 games and went what 4-4 in big 12. I think they are better this year but let's actually see them sustain it on the field for the first time since 2009. Bama has slipped but they have shown the ability to overcome early season losses. QB issues similar to 2015 when they lost early to Ole Miss.@@drm2364
Im a Dawgs fan, but I am not with everyone writing off Bama and Sabin. I remember when Johnny Manziel and A&M beat the Tide, yet the Tide won the BCS championship that year. Concerned, sure, but total write off, no. Not yet.
A&M and Bama are still gonna win a lot of games. Texas and Miami are just a lot better than advertised. Miami may have the most improved unit in America with their O-Line and Texas may have a Top 2-3 QB in the nation.
This might be a hot take, but as a Texas fan, Milroe SCARES me. Without Milroe, Bama loses by 20+.. At the end of the year, Milroe will be much better. He’s a playmaker.
No. Bama wins titles with pocket passers. McElroy, McCarron, Coker, Tua, Jones. Milroe is a problem, not a solution. Congrats to y'all on the win from a Bama fan.
Texas had a little chip on their shoulders from last year. Had a few calls that didn’t go their way from last year’s game that could have been the difference in a win. But that is football. They definitely had the confidence to go into Bama’s house and give them the L.
Texas played well against Alabama. They have a lot of games left to prove that they are for real. Alabama can make up for the loss to the Longhorns by having a short memory. Their quarterback situation to me is unsettled. I wasn't impressed with the defense. It depends on how much they respond and improve for the season.

Nick Saban has recruited better than Texas for the last 10 years there was no excuse for Bama to lose and Alabama did not just lose this game they got embarrassed at home!!!! Saban doesn’t have the same level of assistants he once had and it’s showing up now

Paul is terrified of a Miami resurgence. He prob can’t stand the thought of all those 5 stars from the state of miami staying home. Unlucky for him it’s just a matter of time since Coral Gables is serious about football for the first time in 20 years.
Bama will probably be in the playoffs every single year starting next year with the 12 team playoff even if they lose 2 games. In fact, they might be the only team that can lose 3 games in a season and still be in the 12 team playoff
writing off alabama and saban off at this juncture is silly. they lost a game to what might be the best team in the country. the decline of alabama football is nothing but conjecture at this point. the focus should be on how much texas has improved and become a contender.
Glad to see the insane takes are still here. Bama has QB problems, but they got beat by better players at every position. If you think Saban fell off because he lost to a better team then yikes. Let's see Saban lose to Miami then we can talk about it.
They better players at WR and QB but that’s it. Better team because at times Bama couldn’t play as a team. Tell me UF didn’t have a better team when GMAC and co embarrassed them
@@RalixBlaster7 the announce team brought up an interesting fact during the 2nd half. Milroe was running out of the pocket many times when he wasn't even under pressure. Some QBs (especially younger, less experienced ones) that have legs and wheels, prefer to roll out to throw. I wouldn't be shocked to see Milroe do less of that in future games. When he dropped back, set his feet, he threw dimes. It wasn't all that long ago that Bama had a RB playing QB and, he turned into a talented QB....that was Sims. Of course there was Hurts after him who, truly turned into a talented passer when he transferred to OU. Kirby and UGA is the standard in cfb right now. The more I watch, the more I can tell how valuable he was on Saban’s defensive staff. Oh I know for a fact he bought players. My cousin went to school with one. All of a sudden he's driving a dodge charger and has nice spending money. Saban was always a fraud. Personally I think espn was behind the Saban dynasty starting out. Notice how when Saban came back from his horrible nfl adventure where he was a losing coach. Teams like usc, Miami, Florida St Nebraska etc were powerhouses and all of a sudden they shut Pete Carroll at usc down and then bama is winning title after title.
The Bama team chemistry seems more of an issue than lacking talent.. feel like they have a bunch of "me first" guys vs team players.. Very different than the culture at say... Georgia where it's all about the team.
Sadly, if you dig deep and ask players, that's an issue every year, they've just still won in spite of it because the talent and depth allows it. Think about all the coaching changes they have, outside of Saban.
Miami was playing an undefeated sec team at home and the bleachers were half empty. How do they convince kids to come to a program that doesn’t have any fans that will come out and support them in big games.?
Very true. The stadium is 30 minutes away from the campus. They are going to build a new stadium within 10 minutes from the campus. I think this will help with attendance and recruiting.
It’s South Florida 80% of the people here are from another state or South American or the Caribbean no one really cares about Miami unless they start winning every game, people go to the 🏖 beach, party’s, 🎥 movies, stay 🏠 home and relax they have a life, and they gave the game on TV, people don’t like to pay $20-30 on parking.
Has nothing to do with the stadium being far away. Miami is a small school and 90% of the fans have never even seen the school campus. South Florida has a lot of fairweather fans. It has a die hard fanbase of about 40K. The stadium is too large for the base. But now that the Canes look legit they will start getting better fan support.
Paul looked so sad having to bring to mind UM’s win. Maybe he is just genuinely scared actually of the prospect of UM eventually getting rolling. Scary thought for the SEC if in a year or two UM starts keeping a big chunk of the 5*s and top 100 players they haven’t been
Congratulations to Texas! Great win. Bama is a mess right now…. I don’t think they have the right person at QB and may have to reshuffle O line. This game was not as close as the score. There is talent at Bama but without a playmaker at QB what does it matter?
One other issue on Milroe…. he stares down receivers and predetermines where he’s going with the ball. The Texas safety was just reading the QBs eyes on those interceptions….. I do not think this is correctable for Milroe this season
Paul, there's a piece of seemingly absurd trivia I first heard in 2021. No head coach past the age of 69 has ever won a national championship in major college football. Saban won it at 68 years of age in 2020. Are you aware of this and can you expound on whether you believe it will remain the case beyond the career of Nick Saban?
@hughjass1724 you are either clueless or you are Forest Gump's dumber brother. Saban has six NC at Alabama. They went undefeated in exactly one of those seasons. One loss does not end a dynasty. Texas lost by one point to Alabama last year. They lost four more games that season. Alabama lost two games last season. They then beat the Big 12 champions, Kansas State, by 20 points in the Citrus Bowl. They lost once in 2021 to Texas A&M, but had several close wins. They beat undefeated Georgia in the SEC championship game and went on to play Georgia in the NC game. One win is one win, nothing else. Especially when the win is against Alabama.

Already improved Colorado😢 from last year. Even if they lose the rest of their games.
Folks just running with a story. Don't look for logic.
What do you mean, he’s 21-2 in D1
Questioning Saban's legacy because of one close loss is a bit insane.
Paul looks so defeated to admit Texas is good now lmao. Eat crow! SEC homer!
Texas is not good bama a b minus team
Texas will probably go on to lose 3-4 games .Bama is not who they used to be
@@di114n2 This Texas team could run the tables in the Big12!
@jay__I -
Agreed on Finebaum !!! Neither of these clowns really know anything about college football - they are both just glorified newspaper reporters.
What I wonder is how Alabama could have three number 1 recruiting classes and not recruit a quarterback?
If they find a qb they will be very difficult. Hope that doesn't happen!! Not this year!!
More of Alabama having top receivers, haven't had one since the Williams/ Metchi duo.
I can't blame just Milroe. The offense line was AWFUL. Milroe had no time to make decisions where to throw!

As a miami fan i am SO GLAD last years dc is at bama and not with us anymore.
Two 5 star secondary studs told Deion Sanders NO and went to FSU lol
And Bama Had Touchdowns Called Back Because Of Miscues🤷🏿♂️
@@tyquainlewis7253 those “miscues” were the only reason they had a shot for the td. See how that works?
Texas held bama to just 9 yards rushing for the entire 2nd half...wow

These two sound absolutely devastated over Alabama's loss.
As well as delusional, LOL.
3:54 Why is he saying Alabama didn't make it in the playoffs 2 years ago? They made it to the National Championship the 2021 season.
Big win for the U 🙌🏼🌴💯🔥
I’m very excited about Texas getting the W against Alabama. I’ve been a Texas fan for over 30 years. But I’m not ready to say that in 2023 Texas is a better team than Alabama. They were better last night, over the years I’ve seen Texas have a big win, then suck it up the rest of the season. I’ve also seen Bama get stunned early in the season, and turn around and win or make a run for the National Championship. I hope this win is a sign for things to come, and I hope Texas is better than Bama. But I would not bet on it.
Bama should have lost to Texas last year too but squeaked it out by 1 point at the last second
@@greygoose117 Yes, with the help of the refs. Texas was the better team both years and is only getting better.

Not yet.
Bro with the glasses didn’t believe in Deion sanders lol

HOOK’EM HORNS! Great monumental win. But need to get ready and back to work for Wyoming. As far as Saban and Alabama… let’s calm down on saying he’s done, don’t ever count him out.

Here's the way to win with Milroe and salvage a 1-loss season: reinstitute the Wish-bone, or a creative version thereof. Milroe is a fantastic runner and scrambler. He poses a problem for any defense he faces, if and it's a big if, the coaching staff plays to their primary strength.

Nick has recruited better than everyone over the past 10 years!

Funny, both head coaches of Texas and Georgia were once coaches of Alabama. Texas was the offensive coach and Georgia the defensive coach. I'm glad they are finding success as head coaches now.
In a way both teams owe a thanks to Bama 😊

I think Bama is going to be just fine. Coach Saban knows how to right the ship during the season.
That Texas defense is tough and won’t face anyone close for another month and a half. Find some rhythm next week, get some confidence going into Ole Miss, and by the time Tennessee comes round, everything will be in place for a chance to win.

The B12 isn't as weak as some might think. Don't be surprised if Texas drops a game to someone like K-state.
Sanders has coached in 2 FBS games and on that basis, he is the replacement for Nick Saban? That would be ludicrous for anyone other than Sanders. After 3 games we should be making observations. Not conclusions.
I loved Prime as a player and I love him as a coach.... but he just beat Nebraska.... Nebraska! And now he's ready to takeover Alabama and the Cowboys 😂😂
Paul is terrified of a Miami resurgence. He prob can’t stand the thought of all those 5 stars from the state of miami staying home. Unlucky for him it’s just a matter of time since Coral Gables is serious about football for the first time in 20 years.

writing off alabama and saban off at this juncture is silly. they lost a game to what might be the best team in the country. the decline of alabama football is nothing but conjecture at this point. the focus should be on how much texas has improved and become a contender.

Exactly why Burton left Georgia for Bama!
It could get bad for Sun Belt Billy in Gainesville
$$$.
Half empty. If you are an idiot don’t speak on things. 50,000 people were there and the stadium holds less than 65,000.
