That's around Werribee? Never knew it was that good there. Those bass would have been stocked! Healthy size! That 1st fish was a common galaxia, the 2nd tupong!
Been fishing this river for over 60 years and have never seen a Tupong come out of there, never ever. Your fish is 110% a Tupong. Blackfish are much larger normally in the ranch of 8 to 10 inches which is a common size in that river. Congratulations on catching a minnow as we call them. I have only caught one in the past 10 to 15 years, could someone please tell me where they have all gone?
Hey mate it’s a type of gudgeon. Was that at Shaws road bridge I was born and bred down in Hoppers/ Werribee fished that river ever since I learned how too fish as a kid . Now I live in QLD I wish the river was stocked like that when I lived down there
yeah mate it is shaws bridge, some people say it is a tupong some say it is something else lol so i am a bit torn, any how it is fishing good for this time of year
@@eggcellentfishing7450 Ahh ok. I went over the road crossing at Melton a few weeks back, as I was going to buy a guitar in Kurunjang, but saw the water in the creek there was very black!
@@eggcellentfishing7450 DW, I am NOT going all the way from DANDENONG just to give it a go. Seems it wasn't flowing and had low oxygen levels. So there would NOT be much in that stretch atm. Maybe all this rain we had has given it a good FLUSH & it's flowing properly again in the Melton area! Cheers!
Well done bro, I've been smashing the bass on Yabbies and scrubworms all summer, very good fun
thanks mate, yes it is lots of fun especially when your reel screams haha

Well done mate, this year they've definitely been on bait more than lures. I thought that last one might have been a Yella hahaha
yeah true mate, a few fought like freight trains pulling a bit of drag, would've been cool if it was a yella but haha

It's a TUPONG! A type of freshwater flathead! Common in coastal streams!
The 1st little fish was a common galaxia.
that fish with the snake patter on its back is a congoli or freshwater flathead and they live in fresh and salt water

The difference between an estuary perch and a bass!
Bass has round head.
Estuary perch doesn't!.
5:50 kind of looks like a snakehead very invasive could be worth a report with image to fisheries
Congoli I reckon
apparently it is a TUPONG, never herd of them until today
apparently it is a TUPONG same bread as a congoli, never caught one before today
@@eggcellentfishing7450 Yes, it's the same thing - two names for the same fish.
Tupong.
The weird looking fish is tupong, heaps in there
Yep, they're pretty much in all coastal streams.
