I know right ? When I first heard it and saw the silhouette I was like WHAT THE F IS GOING ON!!! I thought a sith is showing up.

The helmets of these Guards give me a whole lot more of a Praetorian Guard vibe than the ones in Last Jedi
The ones from TLJ had more of an Asian aesthetic imo.
To me they had more of a sorts of old Roman Gladiator vibe with their very sharp armor and helmets

@@Hamburg08 i mean when you look at a certain gladiator armor there is some armor that looks like the guards helmet and arm plating, so i just always thought of them to look like gladiators

I think it's hilarious that their theme is so epic that they have 2 entrances in 2 episodes blasting this in the background
The Praetorian Guard in Last Jedi were just kinda like, oh look cool enemy
But in The Mandalorian, they're actually terrifying

Now this is a theme where you're on low health after defeating what you thought was the final boss, then found out you were facing regular enemies when the actual final boss comes in.
Accurate. And that’s exactly what happened here. And the whole rest of your battle party has logged off or been killed.
Say what you will about the content of this season (I think it's been a bit of a mixed bag), Joseph Shirley has really stepped up in Ludwig Görannson's absence and done a brilliant job evolving his original themes and introducing some new themes of his own. The epicness of the Praetorian Guard reveal has been glued into my mind since I saw it at Celebration, and that's in large part thanks to his music!
Totally agree! My favourite thing he's done this season has to be the evolution of Bo's theme. He really manages to twist it around and make it match the scenes so well
No Moff Gideons theme felt so weird. When we got cinematic shots of coruscant I thought I was listening to Nintendo music
I agree with both of yo. He can’t quite top the original music, but he’s done a good job making it his own. This theme and the different iterations of Bo’s theme and the main theme were very well done. I love the iteration of her theme in ep2 when Din’s trapped in that cage thing and she comes in guns ablazing. I was like hell yeah!

If the Acolyte is successful which I hope it will be, we need another HR adaptation about the conflict between the Jedis and the Nihil. The Nihil faction has different set of armor and helmets and they do resemble the Praetorian guard. Besides the Old Republic where we see full-blown war between the Sith and the Jedi, the HR era is the closest to experience armies of Jedi fighting another faction using melee energy weapons.
That low brass push at 1:05 is absolutely cash money
I love this theme. It just gives off these “vibes” that the main character is in trouble.

Do you have a source confirming that ? I read Goransson is responsible for crafting the themes. And Shirley alone is using and adapting those into the actual score for S3
@@JeremyBraunsMusic I’m not sure of the technicalities of it all. But on the official album for the themes of episode 17-20 of S3 list both Joseph and Ludwig as the authors, my apologies if I’m stepping into territory I don’t understand.

I know this is Star Wars, but his has such a powerful Batman: The Animated Series vibe to it; it reminds me *a lot* of Shirley Walker's score for Mask of the Phantasm

These are a mid point between the Royal Guards and snoke's guard in The Last Jedi
They are weaker version of Imperial guards.
If those were Palpatine guard, than they would kill everyone, even Grogu. They were trained to fight even Vader.

@@Kubulin24 Powerful Palpatine's guards, like those two dudes who fell in a split of second like rag dolls after Yoda's hardly fingers movement? :) I was really thinking seeing this scene if they are really guards or only "nice" decoration? I would say, seems that Grogu will be at least the same powerful force user like his compatriot and Din was not so bad as one against three - also not in the most fresh condition after the whole day.

as much as i don't like the sequels, but damn, Dave and Jon sure can make better star wars then rian, those guards had proper intimidation vides, unlike rians that were bunch of clowns xD
I don't like the sequels either, but the praetorian guards were stronger in TLJ than in this season finale, as I'm sure you'll agree.

The fight scene in The Last Jedi was the worst fight scene in all of Star Wars.
@@shaydumaargaming4993 Well, there you go. One hit rey so bad they had to edit his weapon out to pretend he didn't hit her :D and another one had to throw his weapon out for Kylo to have a chance. And those were the strongest force users in the Galaxy aside from Sheev.
In Mando they three-timed a wounded Mandalorian, and then lost against a healthy Mandalorian and a force using baby... They were weak af in Mando

This theme is so good. Very epic and foreboding. It’s my head canon that Pasz heard this theme when they entered the hangar and was internally like why do I hear boss music? These guards were actually kinda terrifying. Much more than in Last Jedi.

Probably safe to assume this could very well be the main theme for all royal imperial guards in general, praetorian guard, shadow guard, sabre guard etc.
It should only be for the Praetorian Guard. They need all the help they can get. This is their theme. It would make no sense at all for what you're saying to happen.
