- I have grown up with #Bollywood movies being musicals and I don't want that format of commercial cinema to ever change! While some songs form an essential part of the storytelling, others often burden the premise! Here, we take a look at something different, when the music is beautiful but the story is forgettable!

While Fitoor isn't necessarily a bad movie, it performed pretty badly at the box office. Damn, does it have an amazing soundtrack and some soulful music by Amit Trivedi.
The title track, pashmina, haminastu and tere liye!
The song Pashmina is so underrated! The music of the song, the lyrics of the song are just so beautiful! It can send you to heaven!
@@mahek3017 Add to that the amazing cinematography and choreography of Pashmina. Never been a fan of Katrina, but looking at the dance and grace portrayed in the song - I don't think anyone could have done it better.
P.S: Fitoor is a cinematographer's dream! Hats off Anay Goswami.

One movie where I feel the loud songs actually compliment the pitch of the movie is ‘Jab we Met’ they are so beautifully placed in the movie that whenever you remember the movie you actually end up reminiscing the song sequences as well. Sadly can’t say the same about ‘love aaj kal’ coming from the same director.

I remember watching Roy watching with my college buds. The minute the movie ended my friend sitting next to me looked at me and said "Thank God Arjun Rampal is hot" . Even though this shouldn't have been funny, we all laughed our hearts out.
This would be the last movie we saw together. A bittersweet memory since the first movie we saw as a group was another Ranbir Kapoor movie, Barfi in 2012.
Our college life was bookended by Ranbir Kapoor movies🙈

I’ll have to say that while “Mirzya” may not have been a great movie but man, was its soundtrack something. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s compositions almost never disappoint. The sheer power in Daler Mehndi or Nooran Sisters’ voices (hats off). And finally, Gulzar sahab’s lyrics were an absolute cherry on the top.
Mirzya had spectacular visuals... the cinematography, locations, sets, visual effects, costumes and performances.. story, direction and editing was also good... but I don't understand why I didn't feel it... this film needs to be reevaluated...

When we talk about songs we always remember ARJIT SINGH he saved Adhm and also Amit Mishra gave Bulleya song in Adhm movie. And in Jab harry met sejal the songs were nice. Tamasha has great songs especially Agar tum saath ho. Half girl friend had great songs but the story was average. ❤️❤️

As you mentioned Tara, she's an excellent singer too.
But Marjaavaan is a messed-up. Zoya (played by Tara) can't speak but still is able to teach music, I mean singing 😂. I really love that she put in efforts to learn sign language while shooting for SOTY2.
The best part about the film was Ritesh and Siddharth on opposite spectrum. The chemistry matches well but the dialogue 😅. And yeah Milap Zaveri also wrote this film😅
I gotta say the song Masakali 2.0 was just a publicity stunt to promote the song it the best looking couple on screen Tara-Siddhart. Win-win, we wanted more of Tara and Sid they gave it.😂🤣 And the music got veiws.
C'mon, Anjaana Anjaani is one of my personal favorites... maybe because of the essence and effect of the music, but I loved the story too. It gives you the feelz/chillz

Salaam-E-Ishq tried very hard to be India's Love Actually. Failed miserably. But yes , amazing soundtrack.

Arijit Singh makes the songs hit while there are no great filmmakers! And what u said about dialogues being integrated with the song! I think Sanam Re is one of the best examples.

That's almost every Emraan Hashmi film of the mid to late 2000s. Movies used to be average but all the greatest songs of that era, all the chartbusters used to go to Emraan. Expecially during the Himesh era.

Kill Dill (Title track and Sajde), Happy Ending (Mileya Mileya), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (actually has 3 really good songs but the movie fell flat), Gunday (Asalam-e-ishqum, Jashn-e-ishqa), Fanaa (hated the movie, loved the songs), Saawariya, Mausam. I could go on...
If only the music albums were solo...the authenticity would have been appreciated more. I feel bad for music to be dependent on movies.
True. I recently came across an independant india music album and it got a whole 7 by pitchfork, one of the most famous music review sites. Really makes me wonder how many talented artists we have which go unnoticed

I daresay without any exaggerations that Ranbir is absolutely an epoch maker in the Indian film industry. Yes, with some of the most memorable soundtracks backing him.
Ranbir is the most blessed in the Kapoor family after his grandfather, uncle Shammi Kapoor and his father to have been blessed with great songs.

Jammy, I'm glad you came around on the soundtrack for Jab Harry Met Sejal. I know initially you found the music underwhelming, but as you state, it's a great soundtrack and very underrated.

It was ADHM and not Kabir Singh that glorified obsessive love. I mean it literally took the heroine's death to make the guy stop pursuing her once and for all.

Half girlfriend is not really a great movie of mohit sir but its songs are just beautiful. Specially phir bhi tumko chahunga.Its still gives me goosebumps,specially the Indian instruments played at the background is really gives goosebumps one

movie isn't that bad. yes i agree, they should have definitely avoided aman verma's scene where he was shown as groping women(which he did mistakenly) and then getting slapped. otherwise i must say, it was a good story but it went unnoticed as it released the day Don(2006) was released

With other movies like Sanam Teri Kasam, Sanam Re and Fitoor.. people have definitely forgotten the movies but their songs are going to stay forever.
Without even seeing the list, I'll say that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil should be at the top. A pathetic film with one of the best soundtracks ever in Bollywood. Can't get a better example 😄

Specially emraan hashmi songs from tumsa nhi dekha. Marjaavan & other Milap Zaveri films are a throwback to the 80’s. Like Hollywood does throwbacks with La La Land or Conjuring, with an old school filmmaking style. Milap isn’t perfect at it but he tries.
