I spent like 2 years asking anyone I knew about some band that yadda yadda. One day a dude at work said, That sounds like Dream Theater. I was like hold on that rings a bell. He loaned me Awake and I was like well this sounds LIKE them but ... He told me they had an album before and it came out right around the time I saw them. Bought it and the first song was exactly what I remembered. Been a fan since, obviously. 😅
Embrace the gandalf! Maybe DT could hold a wizard themed concert once? All of y'all wearing wizard robes and wizard hats. Sound like a really fun time 😃
This is a change of pace of the Mangini era were they took themselves so seriously they were robotic. Now that Porntnoy is back the soul is back, the preamps from 6 degrees are back, THE SOUND is back! This album is the one everyone is waiting on!!

Like you all forgot the reality TV show or the horrible interviews for DT12 back then which were all so insanely soulless. As if they were robots. It got better by the end, but wow, this was their lowest point as a band.
@@necroplastful You mean the drummer auditions? You could see Mangini smashing the drums with nearly tears in his eyes when he auditioned. Can't get much more emotion than that. The "robotic" part is just Portnoy fans' cope for Mangini's perfect skills.
