Happy Belated Birthday to the great Master bassist Oscar Pettiford who left us with so much music at the age of 37! He would have been 98 this year and his impact on the Jazz world is still very much felt today. He practically grabbed the baton from Blanton and basically handed it off to Ray Brown. Thinking of doing a "Let's Check Out" on him one of these days!

Wonderful performance. What kills me is how every contact with the bass creates a percussive sound, in tempo. I kept thinking I heard congas but it's all you. Thanks for the education and keep it up!!
