Hi, Darlene. @10:30 There is something so soothing and ASMR like about your voice when you are talking about this adorable house block. My daughter came in to check on me (we live on same property but different houses) and even commented about how relaxing your voice sounds in certain parts of this video. Your instructions are so clear and 'follow alongable' 😊
You are so funny, Darlene. I'm getting so much better at taking notes. I just kept pausing your video and jotting down what was important, like what order to put it all together and double-checking measurements. I'll make sure to have your video at the ready, just to triple check as I go. My first two came out soooo cute. I'm doing better than I thought I would. You give very clear instructions and that makes all the difference. Thanks so much.
I’m doing the same! I watch once, just to know what to expect, once to take down the measurements and then I keep it playing while I create the block! 😂
Hey Darlene, I’m looking forward to this tutorial. I hope everything is going well in your world. I’m not sure if you are a hugging woman but I’m sending one to you because I am so happy being able to be a part of your world at the time. Blessings to you and your family.
I love this!! This is my first video with you, I'll be subscribing to your channel and watching the rest of the blocks. I'm making a wonky house quilt, this will go along with it perfectly!
I like the rag-as-you-go idea. That way a project like this will not get stuffed on a shelf waiting for some day when the ragging becomes its own project. Lol, that's how things would go in my house anyway.
For the special block I am using orphan small blocks with extra batik sewn around to make the perfect size. Also using scrap batik for the blocks. Love this sew along Thank you so much
Thank you for showing us to make sure we check sizes. I didn't pay attention to the squares to the right of the Heart block and could've just cried because it didn't fit. It was about 11pm and I just went to bed. This morning I looked at it again and saw I had cut the block 1/2" too short. I got it done though and I love it. Have a beautiful weekend Darene.
Maybe 15 / 20 yrs ago I saw a block of cat. Long triangle like the long heart u made, narrow end at top smaller triangle at top for head then small triangles for ears. If I remember a heaver twine for tail and whiskers. Was very cute.
I have listened several times and I can't find where you gave the measurements on the two background pieces in along the side of the house. Could we please get those. Thank you.
Hi loving this so far. What r the chances u could do a nice fairly up close shot of your diagram with measurements each video so we could do a quick shot of it, would be much easier. Just a suggestion, Tks. Can’t wait to see what other centers you have all year. I am trying to guess, lol. Happy creative quilting.

I need to get started on this quilt! It’s so darn cute, fun and scrappy.

❤love your block, and you do good explaining the directions.
Darlene, a puppy block would be nice if you need some ideas. Or even a tree block.
Don't tell anyone, but those are both on my list, lol.
Thank you. I chose to do mine in batiks. I have lots of scraps so it’s perfect
Glad to see your next block, thank you for your great ideas….
I’m using all shades of blue and love how this is coming together.

This is so cute. How many blocks are you planning to do? Loving it! Thanks so much.
One block per month for the year so 12 total.
I love the house ❤! 😍🏡 I love big doors too.
Love this!
Lived that one.! ❤
It would be cute to add a small button or an embroidered French knot for the door knob and eyes of the kitty.
You can totally do that!
Beautiful block.
I have listened several times and I can't find where you gave the measurements on the two background pieces in along the side of the house. Could we please get those. Thank you.
Thank you, I see the answer now
I added that as a subtitle. I'm out right now and can't watch it and I can't remember for sure what the size is. Oh, it's in the description too.
Love it!
love love this darlene

I have good reasons why I don't do that.
Lol 😂 I didn’t even realize the door was so large.
Love the house. ❤
Hubby heard you reading the sizes of the blocks and asked if I was getting cheat numbers for something 😂
That house
So cute. Thank You 😊
nicely done and explained , thanks for the interesting video
Beautiful
Hi Darlene!
Very pretty.👍🏻
Beautiful
How cute!!!!❤
EVERY TIME I HEAR THE MUSIC I IMAGINE AN EIGHTY YEAR OLD GRANDMA JAMMING TO IT : )
Love it❤
NICE !!
Beautiful ❤
What are the measurements for the 2 background pieces that were added last on the house block?
Shit. 1.5 wide by 6 tall.
@@darlene.michaud love you lady!! ❤️
In case someone else is readying this, I have subtitles in the video now showing the size and it's also in the description now too. Sorry 'bout that!
I love your videos! What is the measurement for the side background pieces on the house. I watched the video twice and didn't hear it.
I know, I screwed up and didn't say it. I have it in the description. They are 1.5" wide by 6" tall.
@@darlene.michaud thank you . Can't wait to make this cute block
What kind of material are you using? Cotton?
Yes
@@darlene.michaud Thank you 🤗
Quilt😅😂😊
If you put the measurements on the blocks we could take a screen shot and save you from having to verbally give the measurements.
I'd rather not do that for many reasons.
