    It is a miracle that this man, Paul McCartney, was born into this
    world, to do exactly what he did, (and what he is still doing).
    If The Beatles was his "floor", then what in heaven's name will
    his "ceiling" be? He is easily the greatest songwriter who ever
    lived already. Who could possibly top his work? And he is still
    going... at 80! And there is yet another Beatle left, Ringo Starr!
    Ringo and his All Star Band are still touring, and Ringo is 81!!
    Thank you God for letting us have them for so long! May they
    both live to be 100!

    McCartney will never be forgotten. I have huge respect for him - he never went crazy when he easily could have done. He is also very tough, you don’t get to be where he is and stay there if your soft. There is the public Paul and the private Paul. The private man hardly anyone knows and that’s the way it should be. This documentary is ok, it’s reinforces his public image and not much more. I like him for the way he and Linda raised their family as much as I like a lot of the music.

    If it’s possible to love a man that you’ve never seen in person, I love Paul. His music and his personality are beautiful and he wrote and performed a good number of songs that have made up the sound track of my life. I’m a music composer, I play piano, keyboards and guitar and have recorded and produced my own songs and have most of them on TH-cam. My music is crap if compared to the least of his. My goal in my music is to compose something so beautiful that Paul would tell me, “Good job, mate!”

    Linda was an integral part of the sound of Wings. Her duets with Paul identified the group and them together as a great combination. There was no auto-tuning back then. we've reached a point in time now, where we're losing our greatest musical heroes and influences, and dare i say it, popular music is rapidly becoming swamped with people who couldn't play an instrument or compose a real song if their life depended on it...i'm not saying there's no talent out there, because there is, but real organic music and musicians are fading out of popular culture. I hope we all realise how privileged we are to have lived in the same brief window of history as Paul McCartney. I can say with a fair amount of certainty, that we, and future generations will wait a very long time before witnessing this kind of genius again.

      Jay76 you have eloquently put in words what I have ALWAYS felt about Paul McCartney and the music both he as a solo artist, leader of WINGS and of course as one fourth of the Beatles, has created for so many years. Music that has come out today does absolutely NOTHING for me. It doesn't make me feel, or stir any emotion in me. I am SO THANKFUL that I was a 16 year old girl in the early months of 1964 (turned 17 in March of that year) and immediately fell head over heels for the Beatles SIGHT UNSEEN when first hearing "I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND" on the radio one cold December morning in 1963. It was nothing like what we were used to hearing. Then after seeing photos and seeing them perform live for the first time on Feb, 9, 1964....well Paul took my breath away and he has been my favorite Beatle ever since. I just love him and always will, for his music, his wit, his compassion, how he was with his family and for just being an incredible human being. THANK YOU PAUL for being the sound track of my life with The Beatles, Wings and all your other bandmates over the years. We are both old now, you being only 5 years older than me, but I look back and just think....it's been quite a ride for those of us who loved and appreciated your music. ROCK ON, Sir Paul....much love and happiness from Cleveland, Ohio.

    He has fun. Always has. He loves all sorts of music. Always has. Had a sense of "the business" and the drive to keep on. Always has. Came to the "brink" now and again, but always managed to step back. Had a decent family life in a not-so-grotty working class world though much was grotty nearby. Smart. Probably could have done much better in school if it weren't so boring and not quite as rigid as it was at the time and gave him more time to think laterally, as he does. (Left-handed peeps! Stick together!) He's a basically happy person and can and does take leadership. Made a great choice in his first wife and band partner, Linda. Whether or not he had been part of the Beatles, Paul would have been a working musician, making a living and likely more. I went to one of his post-Beatles concerts a few years ago, and his respectful tribute to his father was that of a man who was "centered". Yet also musically interesting. Endlessly curious. Loves art. A not-so-silent major collector. Respects education. Built a school. His children (as far as I know) like him. Still full of Liverpool and wanting a cup of tea on time. Certainly not perfectly nice all the time. Humans are complex, but Paul is as open as one might be and still be "famous". Yes, I had a mad crush on him. And yes, I wish him all the best. Oh, and as far as a rock-and-roll "screamer" and a complex "melody maker" as well as a "hard rocker" -- he's the dude. Empath? Yes. Often thinking about the audience and what the audience would like, and the stories of people he liked.

    It's unbelieveable how he's still with us, still sharing music and with too much joy of singing in concerts.
    It's so emotional all the long road he had to walk, knowing perfectly what is success and what is failure. I just can say that he didn't have luck, he just had the chance to meet the right people (John Lennon and his band The Quarrymen where Paul found the chance to sing and play his guitar, Brian who discovered him and his other fellas, George Martin who trust in Paul and helped him in produce all his songs with The Beatles, his wife Linda who showed him a new lifestyle and she was the woman who encouraged him for begin his solo career, his current wife Nancy who love him and support him a lot... of course, I'm not mentioning all the producers, mate band, directors and so on he has known in his entire life so it's really beautiful all those people have trust in him and his big talent.

      I think the greatest stuff Lennon and McCartney did was when they were together. Both were far less when they went their own ways. So it doesn't make sense really to say what Paul did was bigger than what John did, since they both fell far musically when they separated. It was the duo that was great, and you cannot separate out from that duo really what one contributed and what the other contributed, because they formed a team that was more than the mere sum of its parts.

  • @Eduardude
    @Eduardude 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    To me, Paul's best years were with the Beatles. I think all the Beatles were like 100 times better together than when they went their own way. Paul's voice when he was with the Beatles was multifaceted to an incredible degree. He could sing in so many different ways, all of them gorgeous. He was in that sense "the man of a thousand voices." People don't often enough realize the fact that, although Paul could write gorgeous melodies almost at will, a huge part of what made those songs great was Paul's incredible singing voice, though I think his voice lost a lot of its versatility within a few years of leaving the Beatles. But it's very rare, if ever, that anyone can do a cover of his Beatles songs that is even remotely as good as Paul's own versions of those songs when he was with the Beatles. I mean, who can do Hey Jude like Paul did it? Watch that video of Hey Jude with Paul singing and John and George doing harmonies. What a gorgeous song, but it wouldn't be half so gorgeous without Paul's amazing voice. Amazing because so pleasant and beautiful and at the same time so natural, so artless in the best sense. And I think John knew well how incredible Paul was. You can hear it on Abbey Road at a certain point. The music is leading up to the point where Paul starts singing "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window." And as the music is building to that point, right before Paul breaks in with that line, you can hear John say "Oh look out!" because he knows what's coming is amazing and maybe the most beautiful part of the album.

    To say Sir Paul McCartney is one heck of a blessed individual who shares his compassion with the world is an understatement but let's not forget that after so many decades he's still himself. He doesn't have an attitude, he doesn't see himself as better than others or anything like that. The same can be said about Sir Ringo Starr. They love making music and we are blessed that they still do. I can't help but see that same compassion in a lot of today's artists such as Sia and Taylor Swift who are also driven by making music because it's in them, it's the driving force behind their music and music is the language of the soul.

    I wouldn't agree with the lady who said Paul made the big time very fast. She apparently wasn't aware of all the times the Beatles were snubbed, the dingy accommodations, the half empty dance halls and the talks between the lads on whether it was worth continuing after 1960. They broke big in 1963 in the UK and 1964 in the US, that's about five to six years of schlepping around with John Lennon and George Harrison before that magical period started. Talk about paying your dues. No band today would survive the gauntlet the Beatles faced before finally becoming "the toppermost of the poppermost".

    • @Eduardude
      @Eduardude 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Apparently when they went to Hamburg they were playing on stage like 6 hours every other night for months and months at a time. They had much more on-stage experience than perhaps any band today. That was where they developed such tight live performances. It was only after that that they became famous. What a training they went through!

    And it Is a phenomena that actually cannot be taught. How do you teach how to write repeated million seller lyrics. Insights on publishing and this talk are very interesting to me. A lifetime of astounding publishing copyrights is worth examining. Too, Michael Jackson dealing with the Beatle catalog is becoming a legendary MusicProduction Business insight. I think one can understand the "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" story, If any song is unclaimed for publishing, then any one can claim it, as did Sir Paul.

In some ways Lennon's melodies went in extremely pleasant and unpredictable directions that contributed mightily to the Beatle's greatest work.
