After a long wet week out gardening it's so lovely to come in and relax to you in the allotment. Always bring a smile to the face. Thank you. Your mantle piece display was amazing.
I want to see all your home crafty ideas and how-to's using your dried flowers and wreaths. I am an artist and not-so-good gardener, but I LOVE the idea of being good at gardening and using it to decorate my home. So inspiring 🤗
Lovely video, Katrina. Your plot looks so colourful and cutting down the hedge lets in so much more light. Can't believe those turnips!!! lol Take care. Jan :-)
You inspired me so much doing my own garden. Almost watched all of your videos, gorgeous lady. Keep it up! You do have a wonderful garden. Hopefully, one of these days my little garden would look like yours too. Keep safe always! Avid fan here from Philippines ❤
My sugar rush peach peppers have also taken FOREVER to ripen this year! I have sooo many peppers in my garden right now that I need to harvest and freeze!
Hello from Boston, Massachusetts. Would love any videos you’re willing to make. LOVE your content. Btw, thank you so much for recommending the Talking Heads podcast. It’s become my favorite gardening podcast to listen to.
Lovely garden Katrina! 👍🏼 The figs are actually calles „Madelaine de deux Saisons“, which means in mild climates you could expect 2 harvests a year. Its one of the most cold hardy fig varieties, so there should be no problem to plant it in your garden. The coriander also is quite cold hardy, just needs a bit of cover from icy winds.
I would like to see everything you suggested. The hedge looks great. I am glad to know I am not the only one who gets excited about the job and great results, lol. I have the same white dahlia, it so soft to touch it. I do it whenever I walk past.
I love your channel and your excitement over it. Very inspiring! I'd love to see a storing the dahlia bulbs video. Started growing dahlias for the first time last year and only a few survived from my make shift storage :) Thank you from NYC
Excellent Claire, what a nice videoclip about your Homegrown Garden. You are a good guide and speaks clear about your plants and vegetables. I love your site very much! All a long time I follow your your tube gardenprogram! As rememberring; my name is Pieter Smit and I live in the westpart of the Netherlands near Amsterdam.
Hello from Ontario Canada Thankyou for updates. Would like to see videos on all that you spoke of today. And any tips and tricks, although we are across the pond it can always be tweaked for our climate etc Lol! Totally agree the hedge trim looks soo different ! Take care of yourself and your loved ones.🐝
I would love a video running through all of your gardening tool kit and favourite diy hacks. I’m fairly new to gardening so tips like that would be great! 👌
Great video! Yes I agree it’s nice to have change of seasons it’s Autumn here in Michigan, USA to and yes time change I don’t like either but I can’t wait for Spring to start planting veggies in our fruit/veggie garden 😃 !!!!
You allotment is so lovely! I enjoy your plot tours each month. I garden in Minnesota, USA which is bordered by Canada and is very cold with mountains of snow in the winter. I am envious of your climate for gardening. We can't plant here until late May. We have already had 9 inches of snow here. Your vlog provides me vicarious garden thrills year round! Stay safe and be well.
Loved how ripe and reddish the tomoatoes came out...and I thought that you won't upload a video this month and Surprise!!! You posted just before the month got over...😊 loved your garden from India🇮🇳
I’ve watched the video throughout your smile and voice are beautiful, it’s amazing how you do things, I’ve recently started doing gardening, I’ve planted all my spring bulbs , but I’m not sure about veg I would love to know what veg to plant in these winter months, also my garden isn’t that big so if you could pls suggest me how to grow veg in more easier way xxx thanks lots of love ❤️
I’d like see a video on what you do with all those chilli’s. Also, do you use your poly tunnel over the winter. Thanks for the great vids as usual - quality. Looking good
Thanks for the suggestion! Over the winter months I mostly use my polytunnel to protect the more tender plants from the cold but I do sow some hardier plants such as sweet peas, broad beans, nigella etc. I don’t really grow/harvest any food because it’s a bit cold. I could grow a mix of winter salads but to be honest with you, I don’t eat that much lettuce over winter! I tend to stick with the chard to go into casseroles and curries 😋 I love my comfort food!
Another great video Katrina. Thanks for sharing. We've had so much Spring rain in my part of the world, that I haven't been able to get out in the garden much at all. But now that you're going into Winter, are you planning to do any pruning of your fruit trees? I'd love to see a video about that. I'm never to sure about the best way to go about this, and worry that I might do more harm than good.
Some extra videos about the spring bulbs, strawflowers etc. would be wonderful. I would also love to see how you sow foxgloves and get them going through winter? (I saw you already got some plants. Are you planning to sow some more?) Always can't wait for your new videos! You're doing a great job :)
excellent vid as usual, is there any chance of doing a video on how you prepare and preserve your crops? the beetroot and chillies would be great to see, im always a bit dubious about the method of sweetening and preserving beets, they never seem to turn out how i would like them.
Great video, really enjoyed it. How did your communal garden fair this year and how is it looking now? Thank You for your vids they have inspired me so much and I’m going to try and have a go at straw flowers. I got my rowse seed balls recently and have now planted them in my front garden looking forward to seeing them pop up next year😃😃
It'll be really interesting to see how the plants grow with more light over where you trimmed the hedge. Just curious about you're sowing Sweet Peas now, I just bought some seed, I'd like to hear your thoughts on those, as I wasn't going to sow until Feb. or March. I'm in the States and it sounds like we have very similar growing conditions. Also Love how you decorated your mantel.
hello :) loving your channel. I follow you on instagram and then managed to stumble across you on here too. I have just recently taken over an allotment plant and discovered a gooseberry plant that is looking identical to how yours is currently. I was actually wondering it mine was pretty a dead and past its day, do I need to cut it right down like you do raspberry plants over winter or just leave it and it will flourish and fruit again next year?
Thanks for joining me Sophie! In regards to your gooseberry I would leave it for now. Pruning is usually done to improve the shape, remove dead/diseased wood and to remove very old wood. See how much fruit you get next year as they only grow on branches that are 2-3years old. If you accidentally remove them now you won’t get any fruit!
Perfect watching on a dreary Saturday morning - thank you so much, Katrina! I have a quick question - have you ever experienced cabbage root fly/maggots at your allotment? They've made their way into two of my raised beds on opposite sides of my garden and gave my cauliflower and now my turnips an early death. :(( I've looked into nematodes for next spring, and I've put cabbage collars on my new turnip seedlings. Any advice? Your beetroots are gorgeous and I really want to achieve that hahaha. Thank you!
I’m so pleased I helped to brightened your morning ☀️🍂 I haven’t experienced cabbage root fly as I don’t really grow cabbages on my plot. I have used the carrot fly nematodes though and it was a great success so I think your looking at the best control methods along with the collars. Best of luck 🤞🏻
Love the root vegetables
I love your garden every time I watch on TH-cam am reminded of the Secret Garden....thanks so much for sharing.😍
Beautiful and a stunning Autumn display 💕
I brought my garlic this year from the garlic farm, loads of wonky bulbs, looking forward to harvest time already 🥰🥰
As a Landscape gardener myself and farmer we have been self sufficient for over 10 years. This video is good.. Great discriptions, great energy.. 👌👍👌
Loved seeing your tour! Your garden is magical!
I'd love to see a post of your dried dahlias and what you do with them :). I Love your garden! It's beautiful!

Hi, do a video about your November jobs and a video on how to mulch soil for winter months.
Sounds like a busy November! Good luck 😊
Thanks, I'm going to need it haha!

I wish I could have you send me that trunup , I like to cook them in my slow cooker with beef or chicken ,
They said not to put mild dew plants in your compost pile or the mold may spread throughout your compost. Love your dahlias.
Thank you! In regards to composting meldewy leaves, the composting process and winter chill will kill off the spores.
@@homegrowngarden Oh, that makes sense. I live in a place that doesn't get that cold.
Can I ask were you get your bulbs from please?
Amazing
Great video ,what variety are the raspberries you grow ?
I grow ‘All Gold’ and ‘Joan J’ raspberries. The latter being my absolute favourite 💗
@@homegrowngarden thank you
Crivvens! What is it with you and these giant turnips?! You could subdue an elephant with one of those things..

Are there some species of lupin you have in the your wildlife area?
Just above the blue hedgehog dish and/or to the left of the bronze dahlias :)
I called it! That Caryopteris looks like a sage as it’s in the same family! 😂
