I love the idea of this game, it reminds me so much of Pharaoh. the only critique I have is that the whole art style could use more contrast, especially during the night cycle it's really hard to make out the different buildings.
While the critique is valid, consider: It's realistic to how we see at night. With a lack of light and only the moonlight we see in monotone. Though if it isn't an optional feature and is constant feature then it might be an issue.
Yea for sure it's realistic but is it a great design choice for readability and identification? Probably not. Its super early still so who knows, playbe paradox will give us a contrast brightness slider
@delphy2478 This is exactly it. The art and UI are in the works right now. I do find that the core concept of the game and its gameplay loop are very well done.
4:48 about the map gen for something like Civ- I feel that not knowing the map specifics is part of the balance of civ. You can know what the map shape is (Europe, Asia, continents, ect) but even having a map view takes some of the FoW exploration out of the equation. It's a very minor gripe, and arguably only putting this here because algorithm. This game looks badass and i'm excited to see you play it! I will say that HUGE yes on getting a preview of the map with your given customization options is a major boon for city builders tho.
I love that the idea of not just selling stuff but selling it *to* somebody is normal for a regular person in day to day life but such a novel concept for games and consequently gamers apparently.
I saw this game on steam last night and thought it looked pretty cool, im normally not to big on city builders but the history nerd in me cant stop thinking about it, your video is edging me more to try it.
*funky beat starts playing* “We’re Aztec priests so mind your head: our prisoners always wind up dead. Our favourite colour is blood-red. We’re not nice” “At an Aztec temple’s opening day we priests appease our gods this way: hordes of enemies we’d slay - Mass sacrifice! “To win at war, make crops grow more, to cure our kids when ill. The sun to shine, this song to rhyme: more victims we must kill.” “Hah hah hah hah You won’t survive, you won’t survive Hah hah hah hah Ain’t staying alive, ain’t staying alive Yeaaaaaaahh!”
I hope Paradox makes an Andean Civilization-builder game based on creating & ruling the Inca Tawantinsuyu Empire*. It would be awesome if Paradox also makes a game about the Muisca Confederation and another one about the Missisippian Culture/Hopewell cultures in north america.*
Dont get me wrong, I love this, it really looks pretty and interesting, and I'll be buying it as soon as it gets out of Early Access (into Paradox Late Access I guess :P), but I'm morbidly curious about how they are goint to tackle the human sacrifice bit. Probably just abstract it away, I think.
Game feels like a combination of Zeus: Master of Olympus (Or Pharaoh), Knight and Merchants and Sim city. I really liked all 3 of those types so I guess I would enjoy this.
Hi Stakuyi! If you think it'd be worth it, I think a playthrough of the Youjo Senki Redux mod in HoI4 would be fun to see. Please? It would really make my day. =^x^=
But where are the aliens who taught these non-Europeans to build pyramids and civilisation?!1!! (I hope it's obvious it's sarcasm, but just in case /j)

Well it IS early access. Sounds lke something that would be addressed, fortunately.
as an early access game, i will say that art updates are a common aspect of them as they advance through EA

Welcome to City Builders! From Caesar 3, Pharaoh, Emperor, and Zeus, I was waiting for one based on Mesoamerica!
You forgot that china city builder
@@hatorihorrus THat's Emperor.
This reminds me strongly of Pharaoh, it looks good. I'd be interested in seeing more.
I'd love to see a small series of this!
Most of the pronunciations were pretty good, i want to try this game RN lol

This is an amazing game. Please make more videos with it
I love that the idea of not just selling stuff but selling it *to* somebody is normal for a regular person in day to day life but such a novel concept for games and consequently gamers apparently.
It sucks not many people watch this, I really hope you keep playing and make more videos on it!
Damn you for showing me this. I bought it before even getting home.
Gotta get them sacrifice numbers up!
I saw this game on steam last night and thought it looked pretty cool, im normally not to big on city builders but the history nerd in me cant stop thinking about it, your video is edging me more to try it.
pls make more of this I will watch for hours

Moree pleaseeee. Im latin and you got me hooked by your gameplay
i think this game mechanically is a nice tip of the hat to manor lords, cool to see
Hello stakuyi hope everything going well with the family
5:27 and Stakuyi generates the Amazon to build his Aztec city on.

Probably just abstract it away, I think.
No, human sacrifices are a thing in the game. Why wouldn't they be?
I remember playing this in the late early 2000s by Sierra gaming, think it was called Caesar 3 - nah love the nostalgic style
it looks like the ANNO series, i'd say it fits as the ANNO-1404 new-world addition rather than a full Paradox game
Day 63 of asking stakuyi to do the goddess viira path for barrad magroacy in equestria at war
Should we also ask him to do a stellaris playthrough for the Katzen
500 mb is no joke. I had ceaser on 3.5 inch disk.
This is like a graphically simpler, Aztec version of manor lords. I like it!
Can't wait for a mega campaign mod of it
I used to play the Zeus and Caesar city builders back in the day. This seems very similar to those.
Game feels like a combination of Zeus: Master of Olympus (Or Pharaoh), Knight and Merchants and Sim city. I really liked all 3 of those types so I guess I would enjoy this.
Make another video of this game
Looks deep
I would like to help Stakuyi with his pronunciation, it’s very good, but it could use a little bit of fine tuning.
lets goo new video
I like this. This is good.
17:56 believe me I can't
Hi Stakuyi! If you think it'd be worth it, I think a playthrough of the Youjo Senki Redux mod in HoI4 would be fun to see. Please? It would really make my day. =^x^=
"Spike dude"
That was a dumpster fire. 10/10 would watch again
Oh, very cool!
At least they called this one early access, however, I'm done purchasing unfinished games.
TOLANIA HELL YA
Can you build the city on the lake like irl?
hey can we get another total war shogun 2 video
17:10 you know of Cities: Skylines, especially with mods?
yeah need more contrast,
But where are the aliens who taught these non-Europeans to build pyramids and civilisation?!1!!
(I hope it's obvious it's sarcasm, but just in case /j)
Video 58 of asking you to play Comoros millennium dawn.
When will the Spanish show up?
Is this developed by people from the Pharaoh, Caesar, Emperor, etc teams, or is it just inspired by them?
Is a children hearth cost more because it is rare or it has less value because It is small?
But does it have Khu in its OST?
you need to play Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic if you want a really good city builder (it's also just communism)
halo
What if Italy joined the Germans and Austria in WWl ?
What if the United Arab Republic was a success? (Egypt/Cold War mod)
Play age of wars 3
This is just songs of syx clone to be honesy
Let's see how many DLCs will this have after a few months post-release
Meanwhile city skylines 2 is still garbage
They're both just published by Paradox, the developers are completely separate.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks really shitty? 2008 ahh graphics
So they just abonded cities skylines 2? Bru
