Love Kielder. Used to ride there with my late father-in-law. Haven’t ridden there for at least 15 years though. Will have to get back, maybe next year. Great vids. Thanks.
Love a good midge story - worse than Skye cousins is enough to put me off visiting in season😉 Amazing how places we once road on old MTBs have changed over the last 30+ year. Great video as always👍
Have your done any trails in Aberdeenshire? That's where I first ventured off road on a muddy fox. I recall bike packing on 5 speed dawes racer. Up a route called the fungle. Near Aboyne. Despite regular road tires, no flats that I recall. Although I do recall the hike a bike sections.
Great video as always! There's some bright green flashing at 2:30, noticed it on a few videos now. Only seems to appear when your animated graphics pop up though I could be wrong.
I was at the Bloody Bush a couple of months back. I just used the Bloody Bush Rd to get there from Mathews Linn. It’s a nice fire road, I personally hate the MTB trails there, they don’t seem to flow IMO they just seem to make it hard to carry any decent speed. Kudos for using a gravel bike, I think it’s definitely more suited to a MTB.
Absolutely! I meant to come back down the fire road - that was the old out-and-back I used to ride - but it was shut for forest operations (felling & extraction). 😢
Did this trail with many good friends and one who isnt with us now, DOUG💕God rest his soul,,, years ago, twenty, roughly👌😂and wanted to go back and do it again on my Cube E, Bike😍😍❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧👍
Hi, just found your channel and subscribed of course. I considering doing the Caledonian Way in April from Cambletown and you’ve convinced me to do it but struggling to find the best way of getting there from Glasgow. I won’t have car as I’m travelling up from London. The CalMac ferry seems an option but there’s not much information on timetable for next year. Any tips?
Hi Mike - several options 1. the ferry to Campbeltown runs at weekends after July, USUALLY. CalMac is in a bad way with new vessels delayed and old ones switched on and off routes, plus crewing issues with Covid, so absolute guarantees on it running can't be made. Not helpful I know. 2. You could send an email to Ticket To Ride (www.tickettoridehighlands.co.uk/cyclist-transport.php) and see if they offer anything. 3. Take the train to Oban and start from there 4. Train to Ardrossen, ferry to Arran and ride across to the wee ferry at Lochranza, then start the CalWay at Claonaig. 5. Go to Tarbert the long way around on the Five Ferries Route (might need to Google that), ride down our Kintyre Gravel Way (see video) or down the main road to reach Campbeltown. Lots of exciting options!
@@alwaysanotheradventure I knew you would be the person to ask! If the ferry is not going to work, I might start in Oban and add some extra loops. Thanks again.
@@mphillips24 I was thinking more about this on the dog walk (as you do). My preference would be the Arran hopscotch route across to Kintyre. However, if the Oban version appeals, then get off the trail slightly early at Taynuilt because it is on the Caledonia Way, then you can ride into Oban. If you found yourself with time in Oban then a day ride around Kerrera is a great way to spend some time - th-cam.com/video/vohCL16a-kM/w-d-xo.html
@@mphillips24 Truth is I don't know that way - i hope to ride it soon and it's meant to be good. My preference, because I've done it a few times, would be to hop across Arran and join the 78 lower on Kintyre. ridewithgps.com/routes/38030229

I’m aware of the green flash around 2:30 when a graphic comes up. I’ll try to fix and re-upload.
It's ok. It's just a bug after the camera falls .

Such a beautiful trail. I’m receiving my mountain bike in late January. I can’t wait to get outdoors and “keep moving”. Thanks for the videos.
Such adventures are love. I love when you said, such ride 🤔 I was born two decades earlier. It is a great video as always ❤️

Another great video. Kielder is my favourite place to ride a bike. All the trails are great, even the loop around the reservoir is a great ride 👍
Great video as usual. Hoping to do some of these trails and some around Glen Trool later this winter.
Glen Trool is excellent 👌
Big Country Route if you have time is well worth effort; ok either MTB or Gravel but I think Gravel is best due to distance. Hope you enjoy.
@@Semponi Agree it’s a great ride 👍

Sounds good Peter. I don't know Aberdeenshire well at all. However, scottishadventure.org organise lots of rides in the area, so they'd know.

Thanks for tellimng me- I thought I'd sorted that!

I'm pleased to say they're relatively benign here near Loch Sunart.
