Oh, Bob! Thank you for this video! This was my sister's favorite place to go shopping, get her dental work done, get her eyeglasses, silver jewelry, leather handbags, food, everything! She loved the people there so much! She told me, "My Dentist in Algodones is the best Dentist I've EVER had, and he's certainly the least expensive AND the most handsome, that's for sure!" (: I think her happiest times, in her retirement years, were her monthly visits to Algodones to shop, have lunch, get a mani-pedi, get her hair cut, visit with the people in the shops, and relax among them, after her medical & dental appointments were finished. She could never get over how friendly & sweet & helpful everyone was to her, even tho' she wasn't wealthy. She's gone, now; but, I will be forever grateful to the people of Algodones for the cheerfulness they brought to her life, there. As for me, I think I could probably fly to Yuma, go to Algodones, get dental implants and a pair of good quality eyeglasses, and fly back to the Midwest - all for the price of one (1) dental implant in my home city. smh

Our insurance doesn't cover anything and we pay an arm and leg. I've had root canals, crowns OMG soooo expensive. This was a wonderful video. Thank you so much for sharing with us. :) Melody
I swear you have such good timing for me. I'm camping at the Doheny beach in SoCal and my bridge tooth is bad and infected but not hurting. I was going to call my local expensive dentist but now I think I go there. After your implant did you recover in the parking lot for days. Since I'm heading to your January event I might leave early and go to get my teeth fixed first. Thanks again!
The implants is a process. You have to have the metal implanted in your bone and you can do anything you want. I had 2 implants last October in Colombia and next day I was walking all the city of Bogota. Then you have to wait 8 months to have the teeth placed in the implant. Takes 2 days to have a good recover and you can recover anywhere. My advice, stay couple days close the doctor that made the implant in case of any complication, which is more likely no compliucations unless you have a pre existing condition in your bones.
Thank you so much for a camera eye view of a place I will probably never see. I am retired on a small income like yourselves and live in Staffordshire, England, UK. Bless you BothXXX
Excellent! Once again you provide an excellent visual experience, but all the while managing to articulate very helpful details, so anyone of us could do a follow-up using the guidelines you provide. This is a real win/win. You get paid when you produce a good video (if you get enough hits), but at the same time, you always come across as having a genuine care for others, where you wish to inform them of things that will enhance the travel experience, and have a positive impact on their spending.
Free camping.......cheap dental work...good weather...whats not to like !!!! If you have any fav mexican restaurants I would love to see them also ! ;-)
I have a wonderful dentist is Los Algodones - going back after the first of the year. For dental work - if you make early morning appointments - it is not crowded - you always can walk right into Algodones, and get to your appointment - but if you are returning later in the afternoon the lines to return to California can be long - and mid-afternoon can be hot waiting in line. Still even the worst lines would be worth the savings in dental work.
Thanks for the video, my son and daughter in law and her parents go there for all their dental care and meds. We're retired and selling our home and become live full-time rv'ers, and hubby has need of much dental work which we cannot afford, so now I feel much better about going to Mexico thanks to you.✌👍
There is a podcast called Choose FI and they had a guest discussing medical tourism. He credited you Bob with making him aware of going to Mexico for dental and medical care. Well done!
You need to shop around the USA: Don't just assume the USA is too expensive. I thought about going to Mexico (despite having insurance at the time). But I found a Korean doctor to do my transplant for only two hundred dollars more than Mexico. Two hundred dollars may be significant...but this allowed me to avoid trips to Mexico, which have to happen 2-3 times over the course of 6 months for an implant. This doctor is a professor at Loma Linda Medical School and I went to his private clinic. He was Korean but spoke perfect, unaccented English and he gave me a no-interest payment plan. And the follow-ups were convenient. Also, he had medical malpractice insurance and guaranteed many aspects of his work...which is an important invisible aspect of service you should consider. So, do some research. I haven't ruled out Mexico. But many ethnic dentists in the USA--dentists who service ethnic populations who can very easily go to other countries--often price to be competitive!
I think most people commenting did shop around... that's why they are here, looking for something cheaper than they have been able to find in the US. I'm sure most reading this would love to know where your clinic is!
I bought some land in Algodones. It took me six years to pay of the land, but I've still got to build my tiny house there. It's a very quiet bordertown, less hectic than Tijuana or Mexicali. It's a good place to get your medications and dental work. Some people like to ride their motorbikes too for the dunes.
Hey Bob, I'm so excited you did this video. I have friends from Mexico and they always say, the US puts to much fear into American head about Mexico. Your video confirm the safety and cleanness my friends tells me about. Now I'm looking forward to traveling there.
It was very nice of you to give us the tour of that border town. It's so interesting to see the price differences on the medications. It's wonderful that you have your annual trips so well planned.
Great job Bob! Merry Christmas! Looking forward to endless road trips, when I take the plunge into van life. I might start out in my RAV4 towing my little True North RV trailer. I think it was my first ever lone road trip, that led me to believe that living like a nomad is my destiny. Videos like yours encourage and inspire me to believe that I can achieve my dream. Thank you so much!
Thanks Bob, In case some of your viewers can't travel to Mexico, check out Zennioptical.com I get super nice bifocals shipping included for $55 and a hard case. Many glasses start at $8 for simple plastic frames including lenses and my exam at Costco $50 (The prices include lenses, frame, hard case, lenses cleaning cloth & shipping) Been buying from them for over 10 years
Dawn I was just down there and nobody wants to talk politics, especially since so many older folks voted for him. They make money and we get a great deal, win-win for everyone.
Hey I am sooo new to this game, used to handling everything dental pre-9/11 in Tijuana but have heard great things about Algodones. Question, I know Bob likes one dentist in particular - does price equal quality? I'm on SUPER tight budget right now...thx for any help!
This is an amazing video. You'll never know how helpful this will be fore soooo many people. You are just an amazing person. I bet people love you know matter where you go!
nice of you to tell people how important it is to take care of their teeth. people here in the US can't afford the dentist. bacteria in the mouth can affect your body health, digestion. you are great!
You are right about the savings on dental work I went there in September 2017 and saved lots of money plus I loved the town I stayed with a friend in winter haven Algodones is a safe town loved it
Great Video Bob. I grew up in Yuma, my family and I would go to Algodones a couples times a year. It's been a long while since I've been so it was nice to take a walk around with you.
Another great video Bob..I scrolled down and got alot of my questions answered. I'm now following a friend of yours Carolyn...her stuff has been so damn funny and can't wait for some more of her adventures - just like I look forward to yours and everyone else's that I follow. Thank God for all you nomads!! Stay safe and well!
Hello Bob. I'm from Mexico City. I'm vigorously impressed for how the border economy works. Down here in the capital city you can also find every medication at a very low cost. As well as glasses an dentistry. But never imagined how strong the price differences could be between the two countries. It's the the typical win-win energy. Thanks so much for your work and this useful information. Greetings.
Thanks for sharing this information. I have already shared it on social media. With the repeal of the AHA, many will need to avail themselves of this knowledge.
I live about 50 miles from Algodones, Mexico. I love going there, cheap everything including cigarettes. There is a restaurant right before you enter back into the U.S. that my friends and I go and get drunk on marguerites before we head back home (Have designated driver of course). Love your videos Bob, keep up the good work!
I like Algodones, was treated well, had a good meal and of course didn't get sick, but prices are higher there than way further south. I got a filling in Compostela MX for $17.00.
Excellent video! I go to Los Algodones, Mx. for prescription meds, dental, eyeglasses and more. Quiet border town with friendly people. Don't be afraid to tell vendors "no thanks". A stop at the Quechan casino may pay for your trip!
Hi Bob, I came across your website through watching RV videos and clicked on your videos because your sort of a pro that is into RVing. My situation is different than most of the other RVer's. I didn't loose my job, I own my own home, I have an RV (1984 Fleetwood Southwind 27' class A) and I keep my home because I am in the city and being almost 62 years old and on SSI I have a guaranteed check of $733 a month coming in for the rest of my life. I have 100% health care because I am low income. I have health issues that need monthly Doctors to check out (nothing serious) pain meds for knee injuries and broken ribs that aren't healing from a scooter accident when I got hit by someone who ran a red light almost a year ago and T-boned me as I was crossing the intersection. It was a hit and run. From the impact it broke my right rib cage and the bumper took out my knees and caused ACL and LCL damage to my right knee. Without getting into to much detail, it has taken a year out of my life to heal. I will never be the same as I was before. I take the pain pills to try and control the pain in my knees and have to meet my Dr. once a month to refill my prescriptions. Plus as I get closer to becoming a senior citizen my body seems to slowly start falling apart. I try to stay active but my knees keep me from doing what I want. My dream was to retire at 62 and get early retirement and travel in my RV on short trips from my home on the weekends. But since watching Bob Wells and other bloggers I am getting the itch to sell my home, cars, furniture and basically reduce my life to what I can fit in my RV. I also purchased some land in southern AZ many years ago to visit when I retire to stay at during the winter months to get away from the snow. I guess my question to you is would you give up your RV live if you had a paid off home or almost paid off home with low payments in a nice neighborhood and you also had 2 cars, a scooter, a utility trailer and an RV. I find that most of your RVers didn't have much to begin with or lost a job or rented an apartment. I also realize that some of your home owners who became RVers just got tired of paying the mortgage each month and wanted to be free. I don't have a mortgage anymore. Don't get me wrong, I really want to become an RVer but afraid to give my life up for it. Would you give up my your RV life if you had a home that was paid for? And no you can't sell the home and take the cash to live off of the rest of your life. If you had a free home in a nice neighborhood would you take it or would you pass and stay in your Van off the grid?
Just got back today. I have been there many times. There are dentists for all budgets and the most expensive will be at least less than one third of the pricing in the US. Medications are exactly the same quality as the US but one tenth the price or less. Many dentists are graduates of US schools and most speak English. When you go, make sure to shop around and get quotes.
I've been to Algodones many times and had dental work etc. I too highly recommend it. As of tomorrow I am a full time van dweller so thank you for showing the camping areas. I'll be heading there some time after the RTR!
Thank you so much for this video Bob. I have a sister in law here in Indiana that's on disability. She visits her son and family now and then in San Diego. I'll have to tell her about this and share your video with her. Thank you again.
Hi Bob...I've been studying nutrition quite a bit the last few years (I'm 74 now), and I've discovered that tooth decay can be slowed down or even stopped by adding more magnesium to one's diet (think green leafy veges). Magnesium glycinate is the most readily absorbed if taking magnesium as a supplement. Of course, other nutrients play into it, too, but magnesium seems to be the most important from what I've read. I've also gone to Mexico for dental care and was happy with the results.
Thanks for this video Bob! great info on parking and more...haven't been in MExico in years but since this video today i will plan on going for my meds and glasses. Being latino i have my fears of crossing. but you seemed to changed that...thank you sir. God Bless
I have been to Mexico two times and I really love it there. Shopping for clothes or anything I find the prices to be very cheap. They even have Walmart stores there
Bob, Great Video bud. I have some major issues with my teeth as well. Same Story as yours and now need Dentures with Implants to keep them in. This has convinced me that I need to go here. Otherwise I have to spend $28K here in the US. Thanks again.
Great video. Thanks for sharing all this. I may have to go down to Algodones. It helps greatly to see how it works. Pretty amazing you just walk there, 5 minutes and the place looks good, nothing to be afraid of from what I can see. That guy you talked to in front of teh dental office, he had great teeth.
Bob thank you for this information. I have Diabetes. I have stopped going to the eye doctor do to the cost. the last time I went the exam alone was over $200. then the classes were another $300. I can not afford to do this every 6 months, I will be going to Algodones this year. I am so looking forward to being able to get true eyeglasses, so I can see.
i have a friend that lives in Mexico, not near Algodones he says glasses are No Longer cheap, he been there almost 25 yrs, so he 'usually' knows what he is talking about, many Rv owners rave about good cheap dental care , not about the glasses its good to know there are still cheap glasses available BTW..thank you for this, this was great info
Ya, I just got back from a trip to Algodones a month ago, actually drove motorhomes to San Felipe on the Sea of Cortez for 5 days then back to Yuma and down to Algodones, was a fantastic trip everyone is very friendly got 2 pairs of glasses including exam for 250 bucks, my brother and sister-in-law got dental work done, I have insurance and as you say my portion of the cost in Canada is still more that what I paid straight up
When I lived in Grand Junction, CO I went to America's Best Eyeglasses & Contacts. You can get 2 pair single vision uncoated plastic lenses for $69.95 and the basic eye exam is FREE. You can also get 2 pairs of plastic lined bifocals lenses starting at $99.95. That way if something happens to one pair, you have a backup. It takes a week for the glasses to come in. I would google and see if they are in a city close by to where you are.
Hello Bob , you are very inspiring all the way to Hawaii . I'm with you Bob and I will continue to view your videos . Please keep up the great work and I would like to join your crew in the future .
I lived in Yuma upon the Mesa as a boy , my buddies and I rode all over that place I have fished in that canal with my Dad and my friends many times . I have often wondered if the worlds biggest pipe organ is still there under the geodesic dome ? No matter once I get the chance I plan on living once again in Yuma. Love it there !

You get paid when you produce a good video (if you get enough hits), but at the same time, you always come across as having a genuine care for others, where you wish to inform them of things that will enhance the travel experience, and have a positive impact on their spending.
Bob, you are so polite and considerate. Best wishes.
I wish there was more. I was swept away from being in my home by watching. Getting closer to traveling. Thanks Bob
Great video Bob. Thanks for sharing the information.
Well done!
Hey Bob do a video on some restaurants in Mexico, Maybe sit down and show us a meal. : ) That would be so cool.
Interesting idea to consider Regina, thanks!
CheapRVliving You are so awesome Bob, thank you for caring so much for others. : ) ♡♡♡
CheapRVliving that is an awesome idea
Khanh Ho Good advice.
I think most people commenting did shop around... that's why they are here, looking for something cheaper than they have been able to find in the US. I'm sure most reading this would love to know where your clinic is!
What a cool video. Great information.
PrincessNadira80 that's so awesome!!!

It's wonderful that you have your annual trips so well planned.
you are a good-hearted man, I wish you good health & best of luck
Great job Bob! Merry Christmas! Looking forward to endless road trips, when I take the plunge into van life. I might start out in my RAV4 towing my little True North RV trailer. I think it was my first ever lone road trip, that led me to believe that living like a nomad is my destiny. Videos like yours encourage and inspire me to believe that I can achieve my dream. Thank you so much!
Your videos continue to instruct, inspire, and make this life very approachable!
Thanks for all your great work and guidance!
Thanks Bob, In case some of your viewers can't travel to Mexico, check out Zennioptical.com I get super nice bifocals shipping included for $55 and a hard case. Many glasses start at $8 for simple plastic frames including lenses and my exam at Costco $50 (The prices include lenses, frame, hard case, lenses cleaning cloth & shipping) Been buying from them for over 10 years
i have an entire wardrobe of glasses from zennioptical and i've still spent less than my parents spend one pair of glasses!
Got a new pair of glasses yesterday from Zenni love them & the price!
Nancy Coy I was just wondering if it was still safe to go down there after Trump riled everyone up. I want to see this place!
I often wondered what people did for prescriptions. I hadn't heard anyone else mention about them. This is good information.
Dawn I was just down there and nobody wants to talk politics, especially since so many older folks voted for him. They make money and we get a great deal, win-win for everyone.
Thank you for showing what its like in Algodones!
This is one of my favorite videos, excellent information. Thank you as always Bob you do amazing work, keep following your passion.
Mexico is beautiful.. yes there is a bad element there but that is anywhere you go. I go for the day have lunch drinks and get what I need. ❤😊
That's really great tour and information Bob! Thank you for sharing!
they come up to work we go down to spend.
I love it... Depends on how GOOD HE THINKS HE IS... That's how much the dentist or doctor in the USA will charge you, this guy is so RIGHT
I just saw this. Our whole family goes all the time. The dentists are awesome there, and I love going there
Thanks for sharing your experience BajaGirl302!
Thanks Bob, I could see benefiting from many of the services in the story. Thanks always for sharing!
Thank you for the info. Very nice to see another side of Mexico we are not told about!
Thank you for this video I believe it will help so many folks!
Bob, so awesome of you to share this information for all of us! Now I know. You're the best!Thank you~
Thanks Nora, I'm glad to help!
nice of you to tell people how important it is to take care of their teeth. people here in the US can't afford the dentist. bacteria in the mouth can affect your body health, digestion. you are great!
Love this one! Thanks so much Bob.
You are right about the savings on dental work I went there in September 2017 and saved lots of money plus I loved the town I stayed with a friend in winter haven Algodones is a safe town loved it
My parents were full time RVers and went here every year to get medical and dental. Never heard of any complaints.
Thanks for showing us such a detailed video of this area. God willing and feeling BRAVE, hopefully Planning a trip soon for my teeth.
Bob, just more of the high quality information that I have come to expect from you. Thanks!
I know that's going to be a lot of fun...can't wait to see it!! Be safe you guys :)
Boy, that's very interesting. Looks like a fun place to visit, plus all the free camping spots near by.
Greetings.
V interesting vid. And nice to hear Mexico is safe and fun to visit.
Thanks for sharing this information. I have already shared it on social media. With the repeal of the AHA, many will need to avail themselves of this knowledge.
I live about 50 miles from Algodones, Mexico. I love going there, cheap everything
including cigarettes.
Hi Bob,
I came across your website through watching RV videos and clicked on your videos because your sort of a pro that is into RVing.
Really great video! I really appreciate what you've shown.
I've been to Algodones many times and had dental work etc. I too highly recommend it. As of tomorrow I am a full time van dweller so thank you for showing the camping areas. I'll be heading there some time after the RTR!
Caravan Carolyn
Bob, you are an amazing man and a great role model. I aspire to be like you.
Wow! I am on two of those meds ... unbelievable!!!
This is EXCELLENT!!! Thank you so much Bob.
Bob thank you for posting this very informative.
Thank you so much for this video Bob. I have a sister in law here in Indiana that's on disability. She visits her son and family now and then in San Diego. I'll have to tell her about this and share your video with her. Thank you again.
Wow that was cool can't wait to start my travels God be willing thanks for sharing Bob
thank you for the trip, love watching it.

God Bless
Awesome vid bob ... cheers Chris from England
I have been to Mexico two times and I really love it there. Shopping for clothes or anything I find the prices to be very cheap. They even have Walmart stores there
Great information and viewings of the areas... Thanks again! I can't wait for more!
sweet! :D
Bob, Great Video bud. I have some major issues with my teeth as well. Same Story as yours and now need Dentures with Implants to keep them in. This has convinced me that I need to go here. Otherwise I have to spend $28K here in the US.
Thanks again.
Algodones looks very much like Nuevo Progreso across the border in South Texas. If you are ever in the Rio Grande Valley, visit it.
I found this video very interesting as I live in Australia..Thank you..
Bob thank you for this information. I have Diabetes. I have stopped going to the eye doctor do to the cost. the last time I went the exam alone was over $200. then the classes were another $300. I can not afford to do this every 6 months, I will be going to Algodones this year. I am so looking forward to being able to get true eyeglasses, so I can see.
i have a friend that lives in Mexico, not near Algodones
he says glasses are No Longer cheap, he been there almost 25 yrs, so he 'usually' knows what he is talking about,
many Rv owners rave about good cheap dental care , not about the glasses
its good to know there are still cheap glasses available
BTW..thank you for this, this was great info
The Yuma City buses stop at the Q Casino ..which makes it convenient to leave your rig at the Casino and Shop and sight-see in Yuma
Your videos are always thought out and informative. Thanks for this info Bob, I will be going down there for work next year! 😁
Thank you so much for all the info on this place
Hello Bob , you are very inspiring all the way to Hawaii . I'm with you Bob and I will continue to view your videos . Please keep up the great work and I would like to join your crew in the future .
thank you !!!
Thank you Bob! Great Video! I now have something new to do when I come to Quartzsite in Dec. Also your article from your blog about Thanksgiving was spot on the money!
not many people drive in to mexico that I have ever talked to... but from your video I can see it better to walk 5 minutes
I've heard you mention this place in a couple vids, so I was thrilled to find you did an episode on it. To the hawkers I wanted you to say ' I live in a van and don't have room for your crap'. Lol
Great info on parking and about Algodones . Definitely gonna put it on my list to go esp to save money on some things.
Thank you for your video! I'm waiting for my disability approval and want to buy a small RV and go to Mexico for expensive dental work done at a discount. I really appreciate your helpful information!
Safe travels and God bless!
I'm glad to help Claudia. I'm planning a group run down there in January for our tribe.
