I Appreciate the amount of detail provided for installation. I had trouble fitting my grille on my A4 Allroad and removing that front lip did the trick.
I just did this install on my 2019 S5; however, my grill didn't come with an outer plastic trim ring, mine was all one piece. My grill also came with a huge rounded camera mount so I threw it out and had a 3D camera mount made, sits back in place just like OEM.. Unfortunately for the S5, I did have to notch out the the top of the crash bar for the camera to fit and also the bottom sections of the crash bar to get the sensors to fit, and then I painted the crash bar black to blend in. Looks so much better than the stock grill.
I'm still thinking of doing this to my S3 8v grill. Honeycomb grill with chrome edge(I have more chrome details) or the S-line grill with black horizontal lines with chrome edge. Choices choices.
I see this on their website: iground.ca/products/15-16-a3-s3-rs3-style-front-honeycomb-grill?rq=yr_2016~mk_audi~md_a3-s3~wb_grill&variant=32559914319969
I mention in the video twice that I'm painting the crash bar, lol. The side fog light grills I've decided to keep closed and will be wrapping them instead.
@Richard Smith I don't fully understand your comment. Pertaining to the "just remove your crash bar" portion of your comment... I daily drive this vehicle. There is no way I'm removing my crash bar.
@@RichLion I wonder if there’s any truth to better performance from removing a 4 inch wide piece to “improve” air flow” I doubt you would see ANY difference in performance.
I’m excited for ur new build Adam I follow the rs3 and s4 b8, I want to see how far this b9 can go your definitely a great inspiration to all our audi community
Looks clean. Was the battery disconnected during the whole process to avoid any sensor recaliberation ? I just ordered RS style bumper kit for my B9 A5 from iGround.
Yeah, this is a good point. I have an RS3 and when there is a Adaptive Cruise Control sensor on the front, this will break if the battery is not disconnected.
Some guys are 100%. For a dude like me that down badges my cars as a joke, I'm just doing it because I like the look and it provides better cooling over the intercooler while racing.
I doubt that, because the RS4 with the exception of some of the B7’s are Avants (estate cars/wagons). Would take a lot more than a grill to pull that off. I think most people do it because it looks much better than the OEM grill. That is why I installed one on my B9.

No problemo! Glad it helped.
I bought one and it’s installed. Changed the whole car. Thanks for the video.
You're very welcome

My grill came as one piece too. We had to pull it a part to separate it before install.
I think the iground grill looks really nice.
Thank you

Need to paint the crash bar and side fog light grille’s to also be honeycomb! Nice upgrade for sure:)

@@VancityAudi Just remove the crash bar so you have better airflow as you mentioned? There are hypertune alternatives - Otherwise what's the point?

@@VancityAudi Best of both worlds with the hypertune crash bar/air-flow to FMIC with the new grille you installed?

Paint the crash bar with truck bed liner spray, especially for the speeds you will be going regular paint won’t last.
That was the plan. Thank you!

Looks good, thank you for going over the details to watch out for! Is it possible to paint the grey sensor caps black or would that mess them up?
I would assume you can paint them and it wouldn't mess anything up
Just installed mine love it but how did you correct the front camera being aimed too high? Thanks
For some reason we didn't experience that problem like most others have. As you can see in the video our camera angle didn't look bad at all.
@@VancityAudi I think in the video your camera is VERY high
@@trentimus5700 it doesn't feel like it when I use it every day, but perhaps in comparison to other people's it is?
Great video! where did you get the front camera?
I have an S4 B9 and was wondering if I can install a front camera, thank you!
It's OEM equipment.
@@VancityAudi So if I buy the part from audi it should be plug and play?
@kevinqian1204 you don't buy the part. You buy the car, and it comes with the part installed already.
Definitely need to wrap or paint the crash bar
We sprayed it all black a couple weeks after. Looked SO much better
Great video! Did you need any recalibration after removing the camera and sensors?
Thanks! No calibration was needed after.
I got mine from iGround too. And having the same camera problem. The camera is pointed up a bit.
Looks good brother.
Thanks
Looks good although seems strange that the new grill needed to be separated, never known of anyone needing to do this to fit this type of grill.
I thought the same thing. Perhaps it didn't need to be done and we did an unnecessary extra step? 🤷🏻♂️
Where did you get the license plate holder ?

Wait till it rains, your front sensors will go nutts.
No issues at all. It rains every day here in Vancouver, lol
lol you have to install black RS subframe first to avoid ugly look like this now
We just painted it
