The 3M wrap is holding up well and without issues. Otherwise, there is another person who commented that you can look up the RS5 plastic crash beam cover and it is surprisingly only $70 from Audi. Unsure if fitment is the same, but sounds like it's worth a try.

CarbnLab charges a premium over other grille manufacturers and still couldn't get a perfect plug and play fitment... that's what I took away from this video.
How did you flip or invert the parking sensors? Ran into the same issue with my install but I only noticed afterwards and don't want to take off the front bumper again for no reason. I see at 18:35 that the plug wiring is point towards the center of the grill and at 19:07 they're flipped. That's exactly what I need to do.
@@Vaguh Gotcha. Thanks. My installer said that on my grill the actual sensor holder was inverted and I saw that you were able to snap it in both ways. I have right angle plugs on mine so I'm not sure if that plays a role.
asdfhacks I couldn’t actually snap it in both ways. It only fully seated with the plugs facing out. The receiver is built only to accept the sensors in one orientation. @@Vaguh Ah, thanks for the clarification. That explains it. I think I have a grill with the actual parking sensor inverted so I will have to find a way to dismount the holder and rotate it.
There is a black foam piece covering the crash bar under the grill, I imagine you would need to remove the whole bumper to see. I’ll look at my car today and see if there might be a way to look in from the top.
@@Vaguh lol I should just hire you to do it, I am in Seattle. I did read on the forums somewhere you can use the crash bar cover from an RS5, did you try that?

Thanks for your feedback. The crash bar wasn't removed at all during this process. You're asking why I didn't change the color of the intercooler to black as well, correct? Mainly because I didn't want to take it off and have it powder coated or paint it. Also, putting a coating on the intercooler to change it to black, would reduce it's effectiveness and go against why I installed it in the first place. I don't mind that it is visible.

Also, if you order from CarbnLabs, you tell them if you have a camera when you order and they’ll include mounts for it.
Hi you just need to switch those park sensors "I " shape , to "L" shape ( located left bumper side) , then no need to cut bumper reinforcement ;)
Thanks. Yeah, I figured that out during the install, but kinda needed to finish it up that night. So I just cut. I think I mentioned that as an option, but I should post a link to some of those in the description.
Hey! how can I do the swap exactly?? will the cables be long enough?
Could you elaborate more on this? I really want to do this swap, but don’t want to cut in the crash beam
Could you explain this more? Are you saying you can buy new L shaped park sensors ?
Wheres the front camera. mine is 2018 has front camera. does any of the grill come with front camera spot. thanks in advance
Im about to do this upgrade and it looks like a nightmare. :) One thing though - is your crash bar issue only a problem for 2019 and up? I have a 2018 and curious if the revision you spoke of is not a problem on mine.
Sounds like it’s a crap shoot on the crash bar, but I’ve heard it’s a 2019 revision.
@@EscobarPumpkin I did not have the sensors re calibrated. My car is also lowered, so the sensors go off a bit more on dips an inclines, but nothing that has been overly annoying.
What if you have the prestige package, same process?
would love to do this to my 2017, You mentioned that you had a 2019 with a crash bar revision, does this mean that my 2017 wouldn't have the issue with the sensors hitting the crash bar, would greaty appreciate any answers, thanks.
That’s what CarbnLabs said, but I haven’t been able to verify. You can order 90* sensors to be safe. I have also heard people have been having good luck with some of the eBay grills.
Any idea if this grill is available for a 2019 audi a5 sportback (not S5), premium plus with sline sport package?
Do they have this same grill for the s4?
Yeah they do...s4 and s5 is basically the same...just different body style.
Hello fellas 🆘 I can’t get my front camera in any suggestions on that pls thank you
Do I have to take off the tire in order to get back there?
Where did u buy the grill ? And u think can I use it for Audi A5 2021 ? Thanks man
I got it from www.nemesisautosport.com/products/rs-style-grill-for-b9-s5-a5-s-line?_pos=3&_sid=a45f6f1c4&_ss=r
They look to be sold out at the moment and I’m not sure it works for the 2021. You should email mops@nemesisautosport.com he’ll help you out.
Any idea on where to source the T30 behind the fender liner? I need a new one but don't know what size.
Great video however I have purchased an after market RS grille for my 2018 S-5 similar to the one in your video but having trouble mounting the 2 distance sensors on the RS grille. On the original grille the sensors are securely snapped into a plastic bracket that gets snapped on to the Audi grille.
The RS grill only has 2 round holes for the sensors but no clips or mechanical method to secure the sensors to the grille. Your video doesn't clearly show how these are secured.
Does anybody have any idea how these sensors are secured in the RS grille?
Thanks
Mine clipped into the RS grill the same way the clipped out of the OEM grill.
Did you have any issues with the parking sensors? did they needed to be recalibrated?
No issues for me. My car is also lowered so they go off a little more often. But if your at stock height, you should be fine.
Where did you put the front camera I can’t figure out where to put mine
@@r.jsamuel6337 mine didn’t have one. There is a mount you can buy. I’ll see if I can dig it up for you, but you can check the forums.
Any idea where I can find honeycomb fog light covers for a 2020 Audi A4 Premium? Sub and Like added! Great video!
I’m not 100% sure, try enthusiastbrands.com
@@Vaguh Thanks! I actually found the OEM part number for left and right and then found a cheap OEM reseller on eBay. These things were hard to find! I busted the trim around my factory grill and figured that since I'm going to replace it with a honeycomb grill that I might as well replace these pieces too. How are you liking your honeycomb grill by the way?
@@IrixGuy you’re welcome, sorry I wasn’t more help. I like the grill a lot.
There's a sensor on the crash bar itself, where did u mount it ?
@@0308wk left it in place.
Is the S5 badge on your old grille able to be taken off, and put onto the new honeycomb grille?
Unfortunately, the OEM S5 badge isn't a direct swap onto the new grill.
Although, I did add a video outlining how I was able to get it to work.
Where is nemesisautosport located at?
I ordered online at www.nemesisautosport.com
Thanks mate. I just ordered mines from eBay
Which one did you get from eBay? I hope the fitment is good!
@@Vaguh it looks just like the one you got. I have the 2019 S5 sportback. Midnight Blue. The grill will arrive on the 24th of January 2021. I ordered it after watching your video.
@@Vaguh I need your help. I just received my package 📦
Where did you get the black wrap for the crash bar?
Quick and easy order from ECS for a 5'x1' strip. I think this is the smallest size of gloss black vinyl they offer. www.ecstuning.com/b-3m-parts/1080-series-vinyl-wrap-gloss-black-5-x-1/1080g12~1/
CarbnLab charges a premium over other grille manufacturers and still couldn't get a perfect plug and play fitment... that's what I took away from this video.
Did your pre-sense lights start engaging after your install?
Maybe slightly more than before, but I am also lowered. I noticed they were more active after putting on the lowering springs.
You did a great job!!!
Thank you!
How did you flip or invert the parking sensors? Ran into the same issue with my install but I only noticed afterwards and don't want to take off the front bumper again for no reason. I see at 18:35 that the plug wiring is point towards the center of the grill and at 19:07 they're flipped. That's exactly what I need to do.
asdfhacks I just rotated the sensors 180*. Everything still functions the same.
The first time you see them in the video, I had just quickly pushed them in and didn’t realize I had them backwards. Hope this helps.
@@Vaguh Ah, thanks for the clarification. That explains it. I think I have a grill with the actual parking sensor inverted so I will have to find a way to dismount the holder and rotate it.
asdfhacks I just put the sensors in inverted. No problems. I had to cut the crash bar either way.
Is there a way to tell if I have the revised crash bar on my 2019?
There is a black foam piece covering the crash bar under the grill, I imagine you would need to remove the whole bumper to see. I’ll look at my car today and see if there might be a way to look in from the top.
@@Vaguh lol I should just hire you to do it, I am in Seattle. I did read on the forums somewhere you can use the crash bar cover from an RS5, did you try that?
I’d be willing to help you do the install your self at my place. Also, there are 90* front sensors in the bumper that can be swapped. Or you could order new black 90* sensors. This would eliminate the need to cut the crash bar.
@@Vaguh So if I use a 90 degree sensor? it for sure would clear the bar?
@@3318kk yep. It’s the same part number as the ones in the bumper.
Looked better before than it does now.
Patrick thanks for the feedback.
why do u say that? im curious
+1 i love the honeycomb grille its whats on the 2021 s5 looks awesome
great job but so painful to change a simple grill
Tell me about it!
Geez man that’s a lot of work
You’re right. It was. Hope you find this helpful!
Can't believe you didn't spray the intercooler black. If you ask me that stands out from a mile away.
I actually prefer to have the IC stand out. Kind of like why I didn't de-chrome the Audi badge on the grill.
@@Vaguh to each its own i guess.
@@dbogdan17 Exactly!
Good video, nice car
Glad you like it!
It took them more than half the video to figure out that they should probably put the bumper on something besides concrete 😂😂😂😂😂
It took half the video to get the damn bumper off! LOL. Look closely and you can see we set it on a white towel that blends with the concrete. Thanks for the support!
@@Vaguh not gonna lie, didn't see the white towel XD
It's more nicer with black audio badges
Support them, huh? A quick google search says they a permanantly closed.
Because not enough people supported in the 3 years since we made this video.
Can you purchase the grille with "Quattro" label on it?
It has the “Quattro” label on it. I’m not sure if you can get it without. You can choose the color, however. If you want it to be less prominent, you can order it in black. The Audi rings and outer grill bezel, can also come in either black or silver. Does this help answer your question?
helps a lot Thanks
Is this a 2019 prestige??
And do you have a link for the 90 degree sensors on audi parts??
Sorry, not a prestige and here’s a link to the parking aid sensor. parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_2019_A5-Sportback-Premium-Plus-Hatchback/Parking-Aid-Sensor/62808377/5Q0919275BGRU.html
@@Vaguh I found them. You're saying with those sensors, there should be no need to cut into the frame right??
@@jerrymontero7518 correct.
Also, I added the link, too.
Fuck my ass that is dope, im getting an S5 in December, cash no loan
Yeah... this, just to remove some plastic and present a different cosmetic appearance? For all that this involved? Nope. No how, no way.🙄
Your car looks aesthetically pleasing, for sure; way better than stock. But for something so simple to be so complex??!... I guess I'll stick with the "sleeper chrome plastic" for now.🙅♂
Thanks! And those were the exact thoughts running through my head at one point during this process.
you got a hoarding situation going on in that garage
Haha. I was helping a buddy move from out of state and he was storing a few things. Garage is in much better shape now.
You have to paint the radiator.
Yeah, I go back and fourth on this. I kinda don’t mind seeing it in there, but you’re right it would definitely look a lot cleaner if it was black. Also, it’s a intercooler.
???? bei Minute 22 wird der Prallträger entfernt . Danach wird schwarz foliert um dann am ende jedoch den silbernene Kühler unterm SChwarzen Grill zu haben , warum wurde der nicht schwarz gefärbt ????? schlechter Job
Holy ads
Lol this was more like a how NOT to video
Thanks for the feed back. What would you have done differently?
@@Vaguh I'd say do thorough research before filming. I don't like the idea of cutting the crash bar. I recently bought an Audi and I'm looking to change the grille as well.
@@Th3_Genius well, since I did this video, you now have the benefit of learning from it. There was literally no literature on this issue when I did my install. You’re welcome.
@@Vaguh I'm not so sure about that. The aftermarket grille manufacturer must have gotten the specifications from somewhere in order to make it. Thanks anyways I guess. Will keep watching your videos.
@@Th3_Genius I appreciate your comments and you watching the videos. Believe me, cutting the crash bar wasn’t my first choice. I’ve talked with a few shops that have also done the install and they agreed, that it wasn’t ideal, but not compromising any structural integrity.
