I have searched and searched for a 2x1 with simple wide gaps and everyone of them involves some sort of really hard method to do the wide gaps but no yours it just perfect man like so easy to remember and looks sick and the peeks are insane love the build :)
It is a good design but if it had a layer of inner peeks it would be perfect PS: try putting a chill music in the background and when you are upgrading the base type on the screen the expansions that you make ex: Starter ; building 2 nd floor ; shooting floor love the design❤
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for I don’t watch videos so I’ve been just experimenting and I could never figure out hot to do the wide gaps well, can’t wait to implement this on my builds
On the top shelf of the starter, if you place the Large Box on the right first you can easily place a Small Box next to it while facing the wall on the right and crouching backwards on the shelf (long side towards the wall for easier access to Large box behind) you then stand on the small boxes below to line up the 2nd Large Box (if the shelf is stone you even have a line to align with) and you will still have enough room to replace the door without removing any boxes.
Having stability issues trying to place roof piece on same place you did. You cut away for the part where you fixed it. Curious to see what you did to fix it when you cut away and then magically it was fixed. 15:31
I had this issue too. Make sure that all the wall frames are below and that the ceiling pieces are in the correct spots ( they dont match exatctly to the floor of the shoooting floor). Sometime you also neeed to place the other roof pieces before certain ones will be stable enough.
@@ericlouison Ya was very strange. Had zero issues on live. On build server, I had to remove and replace window frame under it, then magically it worked. no clue why lol. Using this on official as a pvp/raid defense base. Been raided 4 times in less than 24 hrs lol.
This base is similar to posty's 2x1 without the honeycomb + with outer peaks. You can do so much from a 2x1 e.g extra layer including inner peaks, better wide gaps, shooting floor with a med open core loot room and turrets with a decent defendable roof too
This isn't bad for like a new team to start learning but it's missing a lot of the new meta like fences with turrets and good turret placements and such
You need it to be able to put down a roof on the outside to detach the external TC in the event that your main TC got raided. If you do not want detachable externals, you can use a single full wall.
You can make this same base with 2 outer only and have the peaks meet. Would bring down the cost. I'd also add a godbunker into the footprint for no extra cost but it's annoying at start so you'll need a 1x1 starter nearby
I don’t play Rust but if theres no build limit Id build everyday adding nothing but honeycombs nonstop. I use to do honeycombs in ark while making empty decay bases. Leading to a 1x1 in the center that was empty 😂. Using fence foundations to double my walls on each foundation and adding double ceilings as well. Usually built 5x5’s like this, was alot of hearing people complain but some thought it was funny.
@@DK22200 When I pvpd (1 year legacy & 1.4 years on new servers) and had control of an official server I had a few thousand foundations spammed across the island map on server 370 and blocked all the trees (left the trees on the beaches) from respawning on the map. I removed an enemies cover for stam regain plus I had small turret towers built in odd locations for surprises and moved them every few days. I had no problems getting the stuff I needed to do what I needed to do. Which included a base on the entire blue ob, NW iceberg and the other snow mountain also had a fairly large base. Also it was me and my ex girl who use to do majority of the grinding as well as my step daughter but she didn’t like to grind but she was good at pvp 😂
I know im 2 weeks late but if you still wanna know basicaly you put the boxes in the room first and after you have placed them all, then you place the window frames
you make the best bases and bunkers. i had this dream of a self sealing bunker base that uses a flame turret the seal the bunker, when raiders blow up the turret, it's explosion seals the bunker. do you think this is possible or a workable concept?
Question, Im new to rust, started a few days ago. I am really into base building and I was wondering, The thing you did with the roof that broke the connection with the external TCs, why do ppl do that. I've seen several videos with similar stuff, I guess my question is why is that needed.
It's in case someone raids your main base but doesn't raid your external TCs. You'd be stuck not being able to put down a new TC in main base because of your externals. By making them disconnectable for just a foundation and ramp, you allow yourself the ability to regain your base and pick up the pieces post raid.
Couple questions because I’m newer to rust, where you have all of the sheet metal double doors are they interchangeable with garage doors or do they need to be double doors and for what reason? And what are the four square rooms on the third floor used for because you have reinforced window bars with no box’s or anything? Not criticizing at all, I like the base design just a little confused.

Don't remember it in the video, but you could also use one of the rooms on the 3rd floor to be electricity if you like to use eletricity for turrets and stuff.

Well solos use code locks cause it's cheaper code locks are for bigger clans it's also just probably easier to slap that down then typing in a bunch of codes for every door for a tutorial

There’s something better than using the siren light or heart beat sensor to stop twig building… just saw a video on a different channel… it’s definitely the way to go, you can’t break the new pipe feature the way you can the other items.😉

It's cool base but only for watching it, is weak! a bit expansive to build in front of the raid cost. I think you can comb more the core and use a floorstacked 2x1. Too many external for a weak base.
Bruh sorry for salty but this is a normal expand for an 2x1, nothing special. When i expand my 2x1 i make an down shell layer with including an upstair Shell for Defense the innerlayer at an online raid and an extra Wall who has Raider to raid.

Loving the peaks and roof design. Easy cheap base. Personally I would have to add a pancake layer since most groups like to top down these days.

I’m fairly certain you can swap out most of the garage doors for armored. Just the jump ups need to be garage doors so you can fit through the space
