I would be super happy to see Stephan's work as a viable replacement for MS Windows. I used Windows since Windows 3.1. Since Vista, Windows is going downhill. Windows 11 still contains UI and deprecated code-path from Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10 and is full with bloatware. Stephan's work could make the transition seamless. The code quality is amazing! Look at all the standardized comments he uses in his code. Well done! I'm going to support ML4W!

I'm waiting for the waybar enhancement feature, especially the nm-applet connection wifi panel. I hope there will be an update to the independent GUI, because I'm waiting for this feature so that it can help setup a connection to a new public WiFi. Hopefully there will be additional features for hidden WiFi connections.

First of all "Gdk-Message: 19:40:37.366: Error 71 (Protocol Error) dispatching to Wayland display." and others are, I can't see wallpapers, Wellcome app and others are not working. I think all other issues source's is the first issue. I have integrated amd and discreted nvidia gpu on Garuda Linux
I’ve installed all and after rebooting I can’t enter to the desktop. At login screen I’ve enter my password and go to black for 2 seconds and turn back to the login screen (arch Linux minimal based)
Excellent work as usual. Please oh please provide an option to only install the essential files for hyprland. Having my zsh, fastfetch, oh-my-posh, etc. configs was very inconvenient.

i freshly install arch and followed you're video but when i super+q or super+return nothing happend i dont have terminal and i think some stuff are broken clicking on stuff and nothing happen, i made my install on vmware with 3d acceleration but nothing i cant open new terrminal with ctrl+alt+1 so i cant open config hyprland config file, that weird :|

On my fresh Arch install, I get an SDL error, "SDL Video: wayland not available" when using this. I didn't have this issue when using KDE on the same machine. Any ideas why?
This can be done in the config file of your terminal. In .config in the folder alacritty or kitty. Depending what you're using. Please check the documentation of your terminal.

I just installed your dotfiles on Garuda gnome like you did it in the video but until I reboot the system and login on sddm with my password and select hyprland don't show anything just terminal and rofi but in the place of waybar they showing just a message of an error on home/.conf/hypr/hyprland.conf error on the line 41 I don't know what can I just I'm the person who found this or some else comment here it resolved this problem 😅😅
I am using arch. I am a new arch user. Tried to uninstall this dependency by yay -R and pacman -Rns but not working. I also try to uninstall the whole ml4w but it says it couldn’t find ml4w by pacman 😫

I think I'm doing something wrong, been trying for a whole week to get this to work, this time it didn't give me any errors, but hyprland is broke,n started by not even logging in, sddm simply wouldn't let me, and now, that I can log in, hyprland doesn't open console on super Q, and... Network manager applet can be added from the welcome app, settings system. I will check cava as well.

There is an Uninstall Option in the ML4W Welcome app. Packages will not be uninstalled. You can use Hyprland and KDE in parallel.

Very good question. It will replace configs of packages required by the dotfiles. But plasma should be nearly untouched.

Are you in a VM? If yes, Hyprland has an issue in the latest version with VMs. Please downgrade manually to 0.45.0

Do you have a wallpaper folder in your home directory? If yes, cd into the folder and run wal -i default.jpg and restart Hyprland.

I think I'm doing something wrong, been trying for a whole week to get this to work, this time it didn't give me any errors, but hyprland is broke,n started by not even logging in, sddm simply wouldn't let me, and now, that I can log in, hyprland doesn't open console on super Q, and... None of the dot files are actually working, wtf is wrong here

You can start Hyprland from tty with Hyprland or with a display manager. E.g., sddm

1. I have to put in my wifi password now every reboot
2. I cant change the language of my keyboard whatsoever..

Please open nmtui in a terminal an check your network settings. And you can change your keyboard layout in .config/hypr/conf/keyboard.conf
