For the first point, at least according to iChaseGaming dumping 2 planes gives a speed boost which in the long run saves you aircraft, along with letting you recycle squadrons faster.
@@arkhaan7066 No it doesn't provide a speed boost. You go 140 knots or whatever whether you have 1 plane or 12 (Hakuryu/Kaga torp/dive bombers launch up to 12 in a squadron). But dumping planes early does decrease the damage taken from flak, which does AoE damage. 4 planes would only take 2/3 the damage of 6 planes. Just watch plane health bars when taking AA fire. I'm a new WoWs player, I just have the Ark Royal, but I have used it in probably 80+ battles now. I've seen this behavior before in carrier replays and my thought is that the only time it makes sense to drop aircraft early is when the way the attack group and squadron size works such that you launch 4 attack waves per squadron. That's a lot of time spent in AA range for that last wave or two. Even with 3 strike waves usually I recall the squadron as soon as I have launched 2 strikes, because the leftovers for the third wave have been shot up to just 2 wounded planes.
Great vlog as per usual Jingles! Being an ol' Navy vet, can we not make a concerted effort to change the misnomer, map? Their are no maps at sea; only charts mates...

not to "Actually, Jingles" you, but... AA tracers actually render differently if you're smoked up precisely to prevent CVs smoke-sniping destroyers in particular- the carrier will see AA tracers flying out from all throughout the smoke screen. It's only main battery tracers that will give you away while smoked up (and, as far as I can tell, that's what Jester was using to judge his initial drop on the Fiji).
I saw a carrier doing this in a battle not to long ago. But it was also really unnerving, because all of a sudden, there would just be 2 friendly torps coming at us holding the corner. Even with them only having a 2.4km range, some came scarily close to allied ships.
"Know your enemy"... A topic that Jingles is clearly the most qualified to discuss when he misses the Fiji getting killed, and misses that it's Jester's fire that kills the Akatsuki, not the Mahan... You're crap Jingles... Never change!
Captain Jingles.... Your citadel get's hit and you just suddenly hear him say ingame "That's a Paddlin" Because he just knows you were broadsiding them.
AA no longer comes from the ship in smoke but from the area in smoke, so you can’t use it as targeting anymore. You can still use the main guns for targeting. So if you are in smoke you might as well turn your AA on.
The ranger dropped fighters and didn't atack the akatsuki probably because they would have missed the run anyway. Rangers rocket planes are kind clunky to use with long time before they can even fire the rockets after starting the run. So if you start the run after spotting the destroyer, you won't even be able to fire before having passed it. So he dropped the fighters to see where the Aatsuki was so he could guarantee a good run when he came around.
I never used to play the RTS CVs, but have had a lot of fun with the new CVs. They take a bit of practice, but I've now got up to Midway and am still enjoying.
Wow, there where a lot of aircraft strapped to the deck of that Mahan who sunk the Akatsuki. Thats audacious! This might stirr up some implacable feelings towards you ...
With the Fiji holding it's fire in the smoke Notser said that the AA fire isn't like main battery fire coming from smoke in that it doesn't trace back to your ship but is made by WG to appear to come from random spots throughout the smoke. I'm not a CV player so I don't know from personal experience but i'd be interest to know if you assumed that it gives the position away (as I had before watching Notser's vid) or know that it does? Intersting vid BTW with the saving of the 2 planes each time 👍
Aha Jingles, there is a reasonable explanation as to why the CV suicided at the start. You see just like Jester dropped his bombs early to save the planes for later, the CV suicides now without really using his planes to save them for the next game! That way he will have more in his hangar when the game starts! Maybe, idk you think of something
I've posted it before and I'll do it again: Your "Captain" needs to have the voice of Flambass screaming "JIIINGLES!!! JIIIIIINGLES!!!" whenever an enemy ship is sunk.
Don't know, if dropping the first load is really good. Less planes mean less targets for the cont. DPs, so the few planes get focused more and die faster. Also he was top tier, so AA is weak and he could use all his planes. 6:39 with more aircraft, the cont. damage would be devided to all aircraft and he could get off the second drop.
The problem with the British CVs is that they have low reserves, a lot is made about how high their HP is. Admittedly my Captain per this replay (I'm the player in question) only had 12 skillpoints so I dont have both durability and bonus health. But if you try to take even British planes through flak bubbles, Your guna get shredded. I spent a lot of the early game recycling my first drop because I was flying into double or triple stacked AA bubbles, you'll notice almost none of my planes from the early game made it back to the carrier. Implacable basically works on the idea that you alternate between the Torps and Level Bombers. Her Rockets are kinda scrappy, alright against DDs if you get lucky and get a good spread. Otherwise, kinda pointless and they're real slow to boot.
I think the Lady Lex sailed forward due to just a poor mistake by the player. If you hold W too quick when launching aircraft, you can power your ship engines instead and won't have any indication you have done so when you are in the air. By the time he had called his first wave back, he was too far forward already and couldn't turn round in time.
It has been some time since i last played WoWS, as soon as the video started and all through it, I had no clue what was going on with that carrier gameplay D:
When you use AA guns in smoke, you can not be located, it looks like AA is shooting from entire smoke cloud. But when you use main or secondary guns CV can locate you easily.

AA no longer comes from the ship in smoke but from the area in smoke, so you can’t use it as targeting anymore. You can still use the main guns for targeting. So if you are in smoke you might as well turn your AA on.
Welcome back to the civilized world. Thanks for this vid. I started playing the new CV's but struggle a bit. These tips will help.
Good video... just wish we could have seen the aiming reticle for the planes so that we could really learn something!
"Ah so your the famous Jingles then eh?" "I do believe there's supposed to be a Captain in there somewhere" ;~)
I never thought about using up the first group to save them for later. I need to do that now.
The Fiji is no longer in sight because it's hard to see things underwater. Jingles, don't ever change.
Oh you silly Jingles, never change :3
Fiji. Don't ever change Jingles.
I have been avoiding trying out the reworked CVs. I might actually give them a shot after watching this guys tricks.
I never used to play the RTS CVs, but have had a lot of fun with the new CVs. They take a bit of practice, but I've now got up to Midway and am still enjoying.
"The Fiji is no longer in sight" is probably going to be one of the voiceovers he recorded for the new captain.
That was a really entertaining video to watch.
Just 2 blunders. You are improving!
I just really hope there is a "That's a paddlin" line for the Captain Jingles
Wow, there where a lot of aircraft strapped to the deck of that Mahan who sunk the Akatsuki. Thats audacious! This might stirr up some implacable feelings towards you ...
Fun to see some good CV play for once :-)
Oh Jingles....don't ever change lol
Finally! A realistic battle that shows off the superiority of air power in naval warfare! Too bad most of us prefer surface ships.
Yeah, I'd say that Fiji definitely slunk back into cover. Though... cover in the port, not behind the island. Jingles is best gnome overlord
That Furious had a pretty good game considering.
Intersting vid BTW with the saving of the 2 planes each time 👍
Excellent as always..
JIIIIIINGLES!!!" whenever an enemy ship is sunk.
jingles should really check his eyesight :D Fiji was destroyed just 2 seconds ago, and mahan didn't kill the akatsuki, but it was our cv player.
Starboard 10 round the boys and back again.
Keep up the great videos especially the World of warship ones
well played to that furious player
The Mighty Jingles and jayztwocents are the only TH-camrs that I have notifications on.
Jingles your commentary is good,i ask if you pre watch then make your commentary? hind sight always makes one look so much better.
What good reason would a top tier ship have for suicide? The same reason a Top Tier tank in WOT has
_MUPPETRY_
I think the Lady Lex sailed forward due to just a poor mistake by the player. If you hold W too quick when launching aircraft, you can power your ship engines instead and won't have any indication you have done so when you are in the air. By the time he had called his first wave back, he was too far forward already and couldn't turn round in time.
good morning Jingles, from South Carolina
Planes looking better than ever.
I'm soooooo waiting for "That's a paddling" when doing a devastating strike :p !
Voice lines for Captain Gnome: "Hohohohohoho" "Heehehehehheeheh" "Eeheheheheheh" "Hohohoo" :)
Aside from saving his aircraft, doing an early attack like that also slingshots the remainder of his squadron forward.
Great video Jingles as always.. keep up the good work!!
It has been some time since i last played WoWS, as soon as the video started and all through it, I had no clue what was going on with that carrier gameplay D:
Arty killing itself at the start of the game and you're surprised Jingles? 😋
When you use AA guns in smoke, you can not be located, it looks like AA is shooting from entire smoke cloud. But when you use main or secondary guns CV can locate you easily.
8:30 "What can you do with 1 aircraft"
All War Thunder Air RB players cry out in pain ...
That's my Jingles, as he insults unknowingly large portions of the internet - never stop ^^
It's impossible not to offend someone if you even open your mouth these days.
Dear Jingles,
I'm well aware of just how unlikely it is that you'll ever read this message, but on the off chance that you actually do, here goes:
Mahan - the American destroyer class - is named after 19th century naval officer and theorist Alfred Thayer Mahan.
His name, and the name of the ship class, is pronounced like Sir Hew Strachan does at 2:15 in this video. =)

Cheers!
On top tier this CV is a dream... On T10 games.... Not so much... Gods Hail The Lexington!!!
I enjoyed that. Might even try my first ever cv game (in co-op!!!!)
