Hide 'n Seek, Sardines and Freeze Tag are such good game modes for Super Mario Odyssey that I wish they are official multiplayer modes. Nintendo please hire Crafty and Amy for the next game.

Like what if each player had a resource of points that they used up every time they used certain captures? Same with rocket flowers. That way they don't have to be straight up banned but they're also limited
Gushions (or however it’s spelled) would still have to be banned because tagging doesn’t work with them. Runners in a gushion is impossible to freeze for some reason

Bowser's Kingdom seems insanely good for the people tagging Between the arrow pointing directly at individual islands practically and the wires being hotspots that have to be used by the runners...
game idea. coin battle, go around the map collecting as many coins as possible in a certain amount of time, but the really fun party is that if you damage another mario with a capture you collect 5 coins from that player. once a round is over those coins will transpher over to the next round.

It bugs me that a frozen character still gets "staying alive" points. I guess it's balanced, maybe, but it feels weird. Like...I dunno, maybe when you're frozen, those accumulated points are "frozen", and when you unfreeze, they get back to you in a chunk? So, if everyone's running, 4 points. If only 1 is, 1 point. But that's what *everyone* gets, even the frozen people. While the point totals will be higher, that might favor chasing teams that are quickly able to freeze and keep some people frozen. Edit: Aha part 2! What if the points are based on how *few* are unfrozen? So it's default 1 point, but if on person is frozen, then it's *2* points for being alive, and if only 1 person's alive, then it's 4 points or whatever. That gives some incentive for a runner trying to beat a chaser to keep their allies *frozen* to accumulate more points over time (or, y'know...unfreeze them all yourself). Runner v. runner is still down to who can unfreeze the most people, obviously.
