I love that Crafty has a face cam now. It's fun to see his expressions when he makes all those weird noises.

Would there be any way to like limit the amount of times a certain capture could be captured? Like what if each player had a resource of points that they used up every time they used certain captures? Same with rocket flowers.
That way they don't have to be straight up banned but they're also limited
Gushions (or however it’s spelled) would still have to be banned because tagging doesn’t work with them. Runners in a gushion is impossible to freeze for some reason

Hide 'n Seek, Sardines and Freeze Tag are such good game modes for Super Mario Odyssey that I wish they are official multiplayer modes. Nintendo please hire Crafty and Amy for the next game.
The Super Mario Movie just came out yesterday, was great, absolutely loved it.
This was so fun in elementary, we called it witch tag and you would slide between people's legs in order to revive them, felt very epic.
We had something like that but different name Stuck in the Mud

This has got to be the best multiplayer lobby, the group dynamic is just so good
I think an interesting thing would be to only allow taggers to get captures and rocket flowers.
Or to make taggers 1-5% faster than everyone else. Either way.

It bugs me that a frozen character still gets "staying alive" points. I guess it's balanced, maybe, but it feels weird. Like...I dunno, maybe when you're frozen, those accumulated points are "frozen", and when you unfreeze, they get back to you in a chunk?
Edit: And imo a death freeze should give 1 to both taggers tbqh imo

What if the points for staying alive (each minute?) were *how many people are not frozen*? So, if everyone's running, 4 points. If only 1 is, 1 point. But that's what *everyone* gets, even the frozen people. While the point totals will be higher, that might favor chasing teams that are quickly able to freeze and keep some people frozen.
Edit: Aha part 2!
What if the points are based on how *few* are unfrozen? So it's default 1 point, but if on person is frozen, then it's *2* points for being alive, and if only 1 person's alive, then it's 4 points or whatever.
That gives some incentive for a runner trying to beat a chaser to keep their allies *frozen* to accumulate more points over time (or, y'know...unfreeze them all yourself). Runner v. runner is still down to who can unfreeze the most people, obviously.

This would be a good addition. Just a minimap showing your position on the map, instead of having to pause to access it.. not showing other players' positions as it would ruin most of the custom modes
When did crafty get a face Cam? Love seeing a face to put to the voice
game idea. coin battle, go around the map collecting as many coins as possible in a certain amount of time, but the really fun party is that if you damage another mario with a capture you collect 5 coins from that player. once a round is over those coins will transpher over to the next round.

It would be cool is the hiders got more points for consecutive saves, and it resets after you get tagged. So getting away after you unfreeze someone is more important

they fixed that with hide n seek as of a few videos ago i think. modders are constantly outdoing themselves

A rough explanation for the reason captures often don't render is that it takes up more memory, and they're always in a delicate balance to make sure the game doesn't run out of memory and crash, so if their player count is above a certain number (I forget, but maybe seven?) they disable capture syncing so that the game stays playable. On smaller games like this 6-player one they can afford to let captures sync.
