Siglap MRT Station (TE28) is an underground station located along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) 4. It is built underneath Marine Parade Road, near the junction with Siglap Link, bringing rail connectivity to schools and residential developments around the area.
The station is located in the vicinity of Victoria School, St. Andrew’s Autism Centre, Laguna Park condominium, and many other private houses and condominiums.
The station was originally targeted for completion and opening in Year 2023. However, it was delayed till 2024 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Siglap station has two platforms in an island platform arrangement.
Civil Defence shelter
Siglap station is one of seven stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line (East Coast stretch) designated as Civil Defence (CD) shelters, which will be activated in times of national emergency. Apart from reinforced construction, the stations are designed and equipped with facilities to ensure the shelter environment is tolerable for all shelterees during shelter occupation. These facilities include protective blast doors, decontamination facilities, ventilation systems, power and water supply systems and a dry toilet system.
The other CD shelters are Tanjong Rhu, Marine Parade, Marine Terrace, Bedok South, Bayshore and Sungei Bedok stations.

Construction Trivia
Contract T309 for the Construction of Siglap Station for Thomson-East Coast Line was awarded to John Holland Pty Ltd - Zhen Hua (Singapore) Engineering Pte. Ltd. Joint Venture (JV) at a contract sum of S$175.76 million in March 2016.
John Holland is an established contractor in Australia, delivering contracting, engineering and services solutions to various sectors and was recently acquired by CCCC International Holding Limited (CCCI). John Holland, in joint venture with Leighton Offshore Pte Ltd, also worked on the construction of DTL3’s Jalan Besar station. John Holland was also in joint venture with Leighton Contractors (Asia) Pte Ltd, working on TEL’s Springleaf station. Zhen Hua is an established contractor, with overseas transit experience mainly in China with on-going projects in Beijing, Qingdao and Guangzhou. Both John Holland and Zhen Hua are subsidiaries of China Communication Construction Company (CCCC).

Why is siglap shut down?
Siglap Station did not shut down but instead it is closed temporarily to facilitate final integration testing of TEL Stage 4, along with other TEL4 Stations like Tanjong Rhu and Marine Parade. Siglap Station will be officially opened on 23 June 2024, as announced. An open house (opening event) will be held on 21st June 2024 to mark the Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 4 official revenue service.
How about Seletar line
