The professional quality of arranging, performance, mixing, mastering, and production are all there - but there are no clear hooks/choruses, melodies, and grooves/pulse that scream hit. Those things are absolutely necessary to create a hit - Ala a recipe. I could have easily written her some hits, but once the industry gets involved - they don't let others participate. I know from my time in the industry, that said is the case; they have their qualifiers and handlers. More often than not, it isn't about talent - rather it's about access to power and money. Usually, you only get in to exclusive circles when your project is not expected to do well - and accidentally becomes a hit. These days, if you are not within the Hollywood in crowd...you couldn't approach a star/VIP with a hit song - even if it were the next "I Will Always Love You"...or whatever else. Listen, I'm certain that I could have given her a few hits - and I think the movie deserved and needed that. With a voice like she has, she deserved it - a real hit to launch the film.

Shame, this movie has so much potential especially for a long comeback actor like Josh Harnett.
