    This has got to the the most realistic acoustic simulator I've ever heard. I've listened to the Boss effect and it no where comes close as this one.

    Most ac pedals sound like an acoustic through an amp, which is fine, but to me takes the soul out of the acoustic guitar itself. This pedal actually sounds like a real acoustic guitar unplugged, and it's beautiful.

    Thanks for the demo. One tip : It would be useful to hear this pedal also with a backing track since I think it will be mostly used in a "mix".

    I was shopping around for an acoustic simulator so I don't have to drag out my acoustic and cause unnecessary dull moments switching instruments during a gig. I tried the Boss and it sounded robotic. I bought this and it does the trick....No, it's not going to sound like my D28, but- it will simulate an acoustic for my bar gigs. Most are buzzed anyways and are they really going to judge my tone for a 'real Martin/Taylor' sound? Probably not. I hooked it up to an ABY Pedal- A for my pedal board B for my AC Acoustic Simulator straight to the board. Works like a charm. Now I don't have to take an acoustic to a show and take up unnceccsary stage space. I recommend it for that purpose.

      Looking at reviews and comments and that seems to be the general consensus. Heard some dude say humbuckers work better for it as well. Might be some truth to that? Interesting... Regardless I have the key stone exchanger which makes a single coil guitar sound like a humbucker guitar so maybe that will help me? Just gotta wait till this thing arrives in the mail for me.

    Thanks. I would like to ask if it is also suitable for a semi-acoustic guitar, with two humbuckers, with 12 strings. Is the sound of the original 12-string enhanced or is it all leveled as if it were a 6-string? Thanks

    • @ThePedalGuy

      It should work. It's been awhile since I used it.

    Hi, do you recommend it for a Humbucker semihollowed Guitar? speacially for the HH confirguration.

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      novamarketing méxico thanks for your question. The humbucker will sound fine. Ours guitar with the humbucker is a high gain model so it didn’t sound so good which is why we decided to use a single coil pu for this demo.
      The eq on the pedal will help introduce more sparkle into your humbucker if you need it. Hope that helps.

      I've been experimenting with mine with a Epiphone Casino with P-90's, Telecaster and a Gibson 59 R9 Les Paul. They all sound good. IMO-it doesn't really matter which pickups you use. Try avoiding the bridge pickup while using it (unless you're doing a lead/leads). This will sound good with the pickup selector on all 3 I mentioned. I've yet to try it with a Stratocaster.

    One greatest acoustic simulator pedal, but it MUST ABSOLUTELY BE UPGRADE ASAP.
    You basically have EVERYTHING YOU NEED on this pedal : Input, Through, XLR out, and Jack out.
    AND AMONG ALL POSSIBLE OPTIONS AVAILABLE, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE AN OPTION TO HAVE "EITHER THE UNPROCESSED OUTPUT TO YOUR GUITAR AMP" (AND THE PROCESSED OUTPUT TO PA TURNED OFF) "OR THE PROCESSED ACOUSTIC OUTPUT TO THE PA" (AND THE UNPROCESSED OUTPUT TO YOUR GUITAR AMP TURNED OFF).
    That would be "the acoustic simulation effect" AND "a A/B Box" combined in one single compact pedal :
    _ 1 push on the footswitch _ boom _ you're with the processed acoustic sound on the PA system
    _ 1 push on the footswitch _ boom _ you're with your standard electric sound on your usual guitar amp

    • @frankn4skeen
      @frankn4skeen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boimesa8190 No! I mean that the pedal should have a A/B BOX pre-programmed function. It already has the appropriate output layout for that :
      _ 1 push on the footswitch _ you're with the processed acoustic sound directed to the XLR output, which is connected to the PA system ... and the jack output with unprocessed signal is TURNED OFF
      _ 1 push on the footswitch _ you're with your unprocessed standard electric sound directed to the jack output, which is connected to your usual guitar amp ... and the XLR processed signal is TURNED OFF

    Based on various reviews I opted for this one over the Boss AC3. The purpose is to have a back up (or even replacement) for an older Variax that I have (which sounds quite decent, actually). However, the Hotone AC specimen I got has terrible latency, practically useless. I have searched for answers to this, but so far no luck. Can the latency be adjusted? If not, I'm chucking this one out.

  • @akiojuni8445

    Hi ! Great review ! Nice acoustic render compared to Boss and Mooer. Two questions : first, do you recommand XLR output to go directly into the sound card (mine 18i8) ? second, do you recommand neck/bridge // single/double coil on active pickups ? (mine are EMG 89rX neck and TWX81 bridge). Thanks for answer in advance.

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the feedback and questions. Doesn't really matter which output you use. The XLR might give you a better result but you'll just need to test both out.
      As far as the pickup, i found that a single coil sounds much better for acoustic sims, including the NuX Mini Studio. In the bridge position. That's what i would recommend. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

      @@ThePedalGuy Hi ! I got it ! it sounds so pure and without crinkling, actually I use it on the neck position with the single coil of EMG89rX, which has reverse coil, this is quite wonderful to hear ! (Likely it is possible to use on the bridge but EMX81 renders a really hard sound already without any distortion 😉 ) I have some questions : first, I am looking for a pdf manual, does it exist ? When I connect another pedal to the THRU jack on the right, the pedal stays on thru, I cannot reselect acoustic until I remove the jack from the TRHU plot. Is this built like that ? My aim was to switch from Acoustic to Distortion and return. CAn you help ?

    12 string emulation?

      Not that I'm aware of. The last time it was updated was 2019. The other acoustic IR pedals I've tried do not have a 12 string so that might just be a bit too much processing power. That's just my guess.

    Not convincing in the slightest, *until* you played the piezo acoustic through it. Every other take was Tele twang with EQ changes, nothing acoustic about any of it. Luckily, I'm looking for something to get the sparkle back into piezos, so this is exactly what I'm looking for.

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really depends on your amp settings. If there's a hint of overdrive in the amp that will not sound all that good. It would be more advisable to go direct to a PA or FOH setup.
