Hello! Why do you say it is easier to get the visa at the airport vs getting it online? I am going to Egypt next week, and I was considering just doing the visa online, but I have no idea what I’m doing lmao so any advice is appreciated. Thank you for your videos !
My pleasure! To me, it’s easier to get it at the airport (as long as you’re from a country where you are able to, like the USA, Australia, Germany, etc.), because it doesn’t require any paperwork, just $25 USD or GBP or Euros, and I’ve never waited in line longer than 10 minutes to buy it. Whereas the website requires lots of paperwork to fill out, I find it confusing and hard to use, and I’ve gotten feedback from dozens of people saying they spent almost an hour on the site and couldn’t figure it out at all. You are allowed one personal item (small bag or small backpack), one carryon, and depending on your ticket, 1 or 2 checked bags. Check the website for the exact information and dimensions allowed.
Unfortunately Canadians can’t get a visa at the airport or electronically. They have to go through the Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa or the Consulate in Montreal. Trudeau even managed to piss off Cairo.
Anyone joins EgyptAir Plus for the FFP? Is it good? It seems uneasy to redeem the reward ticket because the website won't let you do it by partner airlines and hard to reach the worldwide call center.
It's difficult to show a lot of facilities inside of airports due to filming regulations (in fact, I had a video removed that was showing a lot of the inside of Cairo International Airport). Sorry about that!
