A lot of this is common sense and observing your parents. My mother never taught me how to clean but it's not exactly rocket science that if something is dirty you wipe it with a wet cloth

How is it possible that professional people in their 30 s have no idea how to clean a loo or learn the basics of looking after a house???As for cooking and eating in a mouse infested house with droppings on their cooker etc...what s wrong with them???

I was never taught how to clean the toliet at school but I watched this programme and I know how to clean the toliet due to this programme. I clean the toliet regularly with toliet cleaner or bleach or even antiseptic disinfectant, I even buy air fresheners, rim blocks and fresh discs.

Oh this was filmed 20 years ago, you could barely get a landlord in to fix a broken boiler or appliance renting in London. As along as the rent was paid properties like this just decayed. Especially with flat shares like this. Until areas gentrified properly then a landlord would come in, strip the place, renovate and re let at twice the rent. Inspections or regular contact via email or agent etc wasn’t really a thing.

That one was special. The reason I say this is because they appreciate what the ladies did showed their appreciation. They had no idea how to clean, there is proof that it is the parent’s duty to give responsibility to the children starting at a young age . Start them off with their toys when the play with them to put them in proper place, next their rooms keep them clean as they get older helping hand in the home, yard, etc. this way they are taught responsibilities everything they have to do is not a big deal makes their life a lot easier when they get out on their own. They are adult enough to take on the responsibilities of keeping their self clean their home.. I have a good hint for the ladies that is to use iron out in the toilet tank toilet, let it set as long as possible to work well a toilet like that one so dirty it would look like someone had a bowl movement didn’t flush the toilet, it is the very best thing on the market for toilets it does all the work for you. The next tip I have is buy alcohol to work with to clean, it is cheap disinfectant does a remarkable job when doing windows, mirrors. You add the alcohol , dish detergent to your warm water wipe everything down well use a dry cotton cloth shine does an excellent job the windows shine are so clean it looks as if there is no glass in the window. I also use alcohol when washing my clothes they are sparkling white, it even brightens up the darker clothes, remember it disinfectant.

Stop blaming parents for this. People grow in abusive and dirty environments all the time and their “parents” sure don’t teach them hygiene and how to clean their surroundings! Yet once they are on their own most of them do everything to not live in the conditions like this anymore. Make it make sense lady.

      Quarterly? Absurd.
I can see annually, but quarterly, no. Here in California, the tenant could file a lawsuit for harassment alone and get every penny of the rent they spent, back from the landlord for doing such a thing.

Oh this was filmed 20 years ago, you could barely get a landlord in to fix a broken boiler or appliance renting in London. As along as the rent was paid properties like this just decayed. Especially with flat shares like this. Rents were pretty low considering what they would’ve been earning for a starter finance job or programming. Until areas gentrified properly then a landlord would come in, strip the place, renovate and re let at twice the rent. Inspections or regular contact via email or agent etc wasn’t really a thing.

    • @JamesKing-el3ry

@@elainemartinez2021I also agree with this, I had a year long tenancy (in London) around 2015, within 2 months the landlord was creating reasons that he needed to be in the property, he knew I was working 9-5 so all of his suggestions for timings were for when I’d be at work, I politely said you can come anytime in the evening when I’m home, but no. He said “oh it’s fine I can let myself in during the day to save you the trouble” no it’s okay… 🙄 4 months in there was access for a surveyor report, 7 months in and the property had been accessed by him or an associate on 4 occasions so I brought in a solicitor to cut the tenancy short. The property was always immaculate. He just wanted to be nosey but when your paying £2000 a month you can’t be having the landlord turning up every month.
