countless hours days weeks months and years has paid off for you dylan and it shows it brings tears of joy knowing that this work ethic still exsists have watched this video a 100 x and i still cant catch all your moves i allways find somthing i didnt see before i wish you nothing short of the best youve earned it
One of a few prodigies born with sticks in their hands. Born with Buddy Rich-level physical abilities and coordination, but more of a muscular athletic body giving Dylan an edge in sheer speed- although it's close- Rich had some pretty spectacular stick techniques. He's a young guy- It will be interesting to see how this guy matures in his style. He could broaden his horizon by getting together with some really good jazz musicians. Having chops like Dylans' is incredible, but knowing what to play and how and when to play it comes with experience.
Il volteggiare tra le mani le bacchette sapeva fare solo Lionel Hampton, anni passati, Ora E' NATO UNA STELLA GENIALE ! Con lo stesso studio dei Talenti Mondiali ! DYLAN UNICO !!!
inspiring? his skill is like god itself playing drum, it kills my motivation, oh my god i've seen this solo 3 years ago, i just saw it now. still got chills, i mean no 1 is better than him, he is the best drummer in the world regarding to his solo.
This dude is INCREDIBLE!! I've heard A LOT of great drummers in my life but this kid actually gives Chad Patrick a serious run for his money. Keep up the good work Dylan, You are AMAZING!
@chonyc77 I personally haven't heard yet a drummer that plays that contratempo (don't know the word in English) at 3:22 so easily!!! And how he changes rythms from before this part to this one... amazing!!!
He does incorporate a degree of musicality that is typically lacking in most drum solos. There are some great technical players who seem to have never realized that the drumset can be a VERY musically expressive instrument. This guy has that sensibility. If he could take it even further, he'll be phenomenal. It's the age-old feel over skill argument, which will never be 'won'. The rare ones who have the chops, feel, and overall sensibility to pull it together as a premium package DO exist.
@caetlin1343 really, i disagree and i travel the world and see all kinds of talent and this guy has it big time, i am gonna go to N.Z> and meet this dude!!!
I strongly disagree that he's only marginal, and my instincts tell me that you made that comment just to incite argument. I came to this video from another in which he was demonstrating a lot of stick tricks. I didn't think I'd seen him before until I landed on this video, which I saw quite a while ago. He's a fine player, and a skilled showman with the stick handling, freehand and crossovers. Where I DO agree with you is that most drum solos bore the urine right out of my bladder, chops aside.
idd :) i agree and i appoligize again :)...and have to say again this drummer is freekin awsome :) btw here is a norwegian drummer from norway got talents :) pls all search baard kolstad :) hes awsome
@Thefutureofdrumming1 As I said, it's obvious the guy knows how to play the drums, but there's not a lot going on here. It pretty much sounds like he's practicing. I just don't understand the big deal. It's easy to just say that "I should buy some new ears", but you being an expert, perhaps you can explain to me what makes this guy's playing more musical than, say, the average Steve Gadd or even Steve Jordan performance. Perhaps unfair comparisons, but in that case what's with the hype?
Came across another clip of this guy on accident and noticed a whole bunch of other videos hyping him from here to there. What's meant to be so special about him? There are many, many drummers who can play like this ,while sounding much more musical. I'm not saying he's bad, I just don't understand the commotion.
@Huatau Exactly, i can say that i have bugger all technique, but i know how to play well and can play well, one of my friends has more technique than me, but i can out perform him just through style and speed, technique is nothing
Is this kid good? Absolutely... Is he the best as some here claim. Not by along shot. To the untrained ear he mite sound like the "best in the world", to a drummer he sounds good. For one he doesn't have a quarter of the technique the great drummers show.
there are countless metal drummers that are faster but better is totally dependent on your musical tastes. if i was attempting to be as objective as possible i would say morgan agren, thomas pridgen, rodney holmes, sean rickman, marco minnemann, and numerous jazz drummers (antonio sanchez being my favorite currently) are all in my opinion faster and more technically advanced than this guy. that being said i think this guy is still a great drummer.
This guy makes me cry he's so good. He's got style, touch, power you don't see every day.
Thanks for inspiring all of us drummers Dylan.

He's by far the best drummer percussionist in the history of any beat on this planet!
Nobody can touch him & that's his problem? HE'S TOO DAMN GOOD!!
Dude this may be the greatest display of pure drumming talent I've ever seen
once in a lifetime a genius this comes along and this young man is it.

Il volteggiare tra le mani le bacchette sapeva fare solo Lionel Hampton, anni passati, Ora E' NATO UNA STELLA GENIALE ! Con lo stesso studio dei Talenti Mondiali ! DYLAN UNICO !!!

Words cant explain what Dylan can do on the drums..........
@4:30-5:03 it has been Jon Hiseman's solo highlight since early 70's and he still does today, it's nice to see Dylan doing some Hiseman.
Absolute awesomeness!
my onli complain is his set. its like a child's playset. haha. he's awesome. one of the fastest and tasteful solos ive seen.
he's beyond phenomenal. show me another drummer that equals this and can do all of these things..i'd love to see it.
awesome legend!
Fantastic, only Fantastic!
@chonyc77 I personally haven't heard yet a drummer that plays that contratempo (don't know the word in English) at 3:22 so easily!!! And how he changes rythms from before this part to this one... amazing!!!
You sir, made my day
would love to see that in 4K always blows me away and 16yrs old at the time! Dylan any chance you could re record that bro??
I love that clip!
@CrawlingIntoDarkness I was thinking the exact same thing. This guy has SERIOUS talent..

Fantastic 100%. Great Drumming. From: Drums are cool
Awesome drummer.
His playing style reminds me of Thomas Lang... And that's meant as a compliment!

Дилан-это какая-то очень талантливая "машина"!

He's good... I would like to hear him in a band.
da boy got swag but more than that he got TALENT, a lot of it
some can play and pratice a lifetime and never come close to touching this kid...
THE REAL MEANING TO BORN STUNNER
is there any word that can describe this?!
He owned cobus since 0:15 cobus is good but Dylan is world class
@caetlin1343 really, i disagree and i travel the world and see all kinds of talent and this guy has it big time, i am gonna go to N.Z> and meet this dude!!!
He'll be even better in a couple of years.
is he famous? he is like the best ever in his age! is he a pro?
he better be man!!
That snare roll at 0:36 is very impressive considering it's one-handed. Ticks and Leeches! Do Ticks and Leeches!
He is NOT human!!!
i would kill to see a drum battle between dylan elise and tony royster jr
oh my godness
I could sell my soul to the devil and STILL not come close to him. This simply should not be possible.
Did Flight of the Conchords play after?

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh is that Drummer!!
nice
I do believe this man could whip Chuck Norris with his drum sticks!
Possibly the next Thomas Lang?
inspiration to be better
You kids don't know what you are talking about! Comparing Cobus (which I just had a quick watch) to Dylan? what Cobus plays Dylan plays with his toes!
@Thefutureofdrumming1 As I said, it's obvious the guy knows how to play the drums, but there's not a lot going on here. It pretty much sounds like he's practicing. I just don't understand the big deal.

He's like a ninja on drums lol
Totally agree. I was quite disappointed when I first saw his street drumming. Nothing to do with this amazing solo.
This was 5 years ago. They only had potatoes at that time.
Marvin Namro 10 years now. Still amazing...

What style???
Ingredients:
Patience + a fuck load of practice = Amazing Drummer
Sounds so simple doesn't it?
why does he use small drums?
chad smith came here and disliked the video xD
bro...that's hilarious and I agree. LOL
In case you don't know but this isn't humanly possible
Thomas Lang who??
@vic1111189 Why does it matter?
@Huatau Exactly, i can say that i have bugger all technique, but i know how to play well and can play well, one of my friends has more technique than me, but i can out perform him just through style and speed, technique is nothing
I would love to know who the SENSELESS 2 Idiots who do not like the drummer ... I'd like to see what they are capable of doing
@slackers30fml His wife died of cancer :(

He was better at 16 than he is today. Now he is just a street drumming crowd pleaser. WTF? I feel ripped off... and I hope he feels the same way.
just a street perfmer
Modern day Buddy Rich
Chris Boose 『
Insane!!
Is this kid good? Absolutely... Is he the best as some here claim. Not by along shot. To the untrained ear he mite sound like the "best in the world", to a drummer he sounds good. For one he doesn't have a quarter of the technique the great drummers show.
You dont make jokes about such things
there are countless metal drummers that are faster but better is totally dependent on your musical tastes. if i was attempting to be as objective as possible i would say morgan agren, thomas pridgen, rodney holmes, sean rickman, marco minnemann, and numerous jazz drummers (antonio sanchez being my favorite currently) are all in my opinion faster and more technically advanced than this guy. that being said i think this guy is still a great drummer.
