  • In this video, we’re following behind two very capable drivers in two very different but similar styles of rig! First, we’ll look at Talon’s run in Unlimited Class in his MOA truck. Then, we’ll jump over, and watch Cameron hit the same course in his Shafty rig!
    Both drivers are highly capable, although both are newer to Unlimited Class trucks. These drivers have both proven their skills in C2 and C3-so, how will they stack up in Unlimited?? Well, thanks to the High Noon Hobby livestream participants who offered their opinions on what we need more of on the channel, here we are!
    Let me know what you think in the comments down below! Have another idea for a video? I’d love to hear what you’ve got, so let me know!

    I just got a shafty rig tonight! Haven't even run it yet. Great content. Cool to see he had a Fusion pro in that shafty rig. Hoping I can sandwich one into mine too. Thanks again. Great content as usual!

      Heck yeah, that’s awesome! Stoked to hear you’ve got a new rig to play around with, and those shafty rigs are actually pretty damn sweet-I always thought they were less capable than MOA’s but they definitely have their advantages! Enjoy and send pics! 🤘🏼🤙🏼

      Many thanks, Evin! I totally understand that-I know plenty of guys who are selling other classes to build unlimited class builds; I think mostly because of watching what these things are capable of out on the rocks. But hopefully we can get you out to more of them because I'm sure you'd enjoy!! Cheers, my friend! 🤙🏼🤘🏼🤙🏼🤘🏼

    • @highnoonhobby
      @highnoonhobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha both have their pros and cons-I think it comes down to what comps, if any, you'll run them in and what you're looking to do with them overall. For straight up performance, the MOA's seem to take the cake, but some obstacles are still easier in a Shafty! 🤙🏼🤘🏼🍻

      @@highnoonhobby im new to this hobby and im planning to visit a comp site that is near me at end of this month ..... as of now i am leaning towards moa..... i made my 24 scale with fron and rear dig so i am having fun with it ... but mechanical aspect of shafty speaks to me as well....someone of FB mentioned that you can gear it so it almost drives like with a dig.....

    At 3:20 the MOA did not progress gate 4.
    He should not be able to continue to gate 5 before making progress on 4.
    To progress a gate a front and a rear wheel must pass through the gate. In this case only the front wheels passed.
    A shafty driven car has constant drive for both axles, a MOA is electronically controlled so different loads on each motor of the MOA make it react in a different way.
    Yes, on some occasions a shafty drive car makes a certain gate easier then a MOA.
    Get yourself a MOA, they are a challenge to drive and you will learn a new set of skills ;)

    • @highnoonhobby
      @highnoonhobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually do not utilize progress in our competitions-so because he tapped the gate (killing the gate and taking the penalty) he is able to move on to the next gate. These are our own rules, not to be confused with SORCCA or any other rule set. But good call out, thank you for the insight!
      As for the Shafty VS MOA, I’m probably biased toward MOA myself-they just seem like such a fun new challenge that is so totally different from what I’m used to running in C2 or even C3. I’ll certainly have to get one in the near future and you’ll definitely see more content of them here on the channel!
      Much appreciated, my friend! Thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoyed! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

      @@highnoonhobby It's mode then fine for a local club to adjust their own rules.
      But then, if you are not used to the WRCCA rules (for MOA, Sportsman and all the other 3 classes), and you attend a international comp that follow the WRCCA rules you will be lost and for sure will make mistakes because of the rules used....
      I think it's just easier to follow the international rules and then you are set on the right path.
      I already have my tickets bought to go to the USA for the WRCCA World Championship in Portland (Maine)!
      Can't wait until September!!!
      Hope to see you with a MOA soon!
      Let me know if I can help you ;)

    I'm new to RC, what is a shafty? Lol

    • @highnoonhobby
      @highnoonhobby  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A shafty is as close to an MOA as you can get while still housing the motor in the central part of the vehicle. It's called a shafty because it still has drive shafts! Great question, thanks for asking 🤙🏼🤘🏼
