I always pay. I have always made money. I have also been married since 1988. My wife has paid at times, but I just add money to her account so she stays feeling good. I never worry about money.

Let’s be real here, as a man I’m always expected to pay theres honestly nothing I can do. Society will always have the same double standards no matter what even if both were rich. If I asked the woman to pay I’m seeing as an asshole. If I say “Let’s split the bill 50-50”, I’m seeing as a cheapskate. When a woman pays the bill, or says “let’s split it 50-50” she’s seen as kind hearted.
Of course that's the way it should be, since males *never* ask out women who they consider visually worse than themselves, even if it's just 0,1% "worse".
Yet the majority of women don't consider dates unless the male look attractive or are rich enough I fail to see how that's any different from Men

Yeah you can. Its unfortunate that men have to pay the womans share. But he doesnt really care in that he accepts society isnt fair or equal- that women get what they want and men dont. Simple. He just accepts the inequality that men are bot treated fairly when it comes to dating
@u3962521 Correction: the 1-5% of women that most men find very hot get what they want. Just like the *men* in the same category get what they want. The only males that whine about this "being unfair" are "man0sphere" members who see themselves as waaaay more attractive than they actually are.
Personally, I always offer to cover the first date, even the first few if we click really well. It’s not a dealbreaker if the other party doesn’t pay for themselves or at least offer to per sé, it’s more of a point that will be saved for later consideration. Like how in point and click games have those small notifications that pop up in the corner of your screen when you interact with an object or NPC telling you that “This action could have consequences later on…”. Peoples’ actions are major indicators of their personality.

If it's a first date and a guy ask a girl out he should pay because he's instigating the encounter. If a girl asks a guy out for the first time, she should pay because she's instigating the encounter. It should be the responsibility of who initiates. When a relationship forms, then start splitting bills.
What does it even mean to take someone out? Like I don’t understand this to be honest. It’s supposed to be a treat to show your romantic interest/affection. If you can’t afford it or feel some kind of weird way about it, pack a picnic and take the girl out to the park or lake. I “dated” a guy that wanted to go Dutch every time and every canned “date” was just a sit down restaurant meal. Finally I gave up and stopped seeing him because I felt like I was getting lunch with my brother. It’s not even the bill, it’s the effort.

Why do you equal not offering to pay with not appreciating his gesture? I would be beyond grateful if a man ever offered to buy me even a 2$ ice cream, since that has never happened, but I would *never* offer to pay because they'll happily take the offer in a second. Don't know about the US, but most males in my Eastern European country will do *anything* to get something for nothing.

I’m not sure why men cry about paying for dates. Like the whole point of that societal expectation is that it helps bypass female sexu@l selection. Men paying for things was created by the patriarchy to help the average man secure a mate. If women were expected to “split the bill”, the average man would never get an opportunity to date.
