A few years ago I was on a cross-country flight with Richie. I sat right next to him in the terminal at pre-boarding. I wanted to say hello but decided instead not to disturb him. Once we landed, I ran into him at baggage claim but again kept my mouth shut. He gathered his bags and on his way out gave me a warm greeting and best wishes for a safe journey. He was a down-to-earth, humble and gentle man who also happened to be a giant in music.
This was near the end of Richie's performing career. I saw him twice on his last run, his heart and soul were there, but he struggled to remember chord changes and words to the songs. I had the pleasure of meeting him three times, and he was one of the warmest people I've ever met. He had the ability to make you feel like you were the star after the show, even though he was the one that just came off the stage. Talking guitars with Richie was a highlight of my life.
You will always be so beautiful to me and you will always send me to that place no one else can take me. With love and respect to one of the true masters. RIPeace or soar like a high flying bird - you left the greatest gifts of all. Thank you..
This recording has brought soooooo much joy and love into my heart when I have needed it more than anything else. Please please pelisse find a way to get the audio back up and working or send it to me and I will do my best to get it up--because this performance is so moving and transformative. after watching this two years ago I have ever since wished that when I pass, Richie will be sitting on a stool right outside of the pearly gates doing this exact performance.

Such a beautiful performance of this song.
Beautiful soul. Carry on.
I met him at a Dunkin Donuts in Southbury, CT and he was the most gentle, spirited man with a great smile and energy:)

RIP!
Is there anywhere to get the audio of this? (ya, I know, Google, I'm looking...)
☮❤♪
He messes up at 1:08, I know the feeling.
when was this concert?
Richie, not Richy. And he's just passed, so let's get his name correct.
His guitar is tuned down a half step I think.
An interesting argument - but it hardly ever happens here (the UK), so it's more cultural than spontaneous.
i wear my pyjamas out quite frequently. ;@>
Though that doesn't mean my interpretation is right, either.
I really don't like that affectation of clapping as soon as you recognise the song.
I tried but he just doean't do it for me. Yes he is good but I just don't hear it.
really loved the mans ideals yet somehow felt most of his covers were second rate
Why is this man wearing his pajamas on stage?
Maybe he wasn't feeling well. And he was weak from illness. I think he did a great job. Sometimes people are in physical pain. I'm just saying.
