Aiden, you need to link your cheap insulation video in some of these vids. In fact, you don't link any previous videos. I found you from your insulation video. If these tips and tricks vids are clickable at the end of a video, promote them, and help people find your content. I looked in your channel previous videos after that, and stayed. many just browse. Any, tips on saving a few quid for diy, will work. Tips and tricks, great. As for ideas, How many different ways are there to find a level, or straight line?

DIY - yes to the knife 👍🏼 I use TH-cam for the silly odd things, like how to unclog a washing machine filter, which plasterboard anchor bolts to use for my tv bracket, etc. I used one recently to show me how to remove and replace the extractor fan above my kitchen cooker. This post may not help you, but that’s the type of DIY stuff I look at on TH-cam, all of the ‘how to’ bits and bobs
I like that you are so open and honest. I just now found your channel because I found your vid "How To Fit An Aluminium Window". I don't know anything about how to make money from youtube videos, but what I would do is research other channels with content similar to yours and see which of their videos got the most views, and try to see a pattern. Videos that I find most interesting and helpful are comparison videos of different products and/or techniques for doing a project. Thanks.
DIY 🙂 Hey Aiden, firstly and in certain clips here, your voice being sped up is brilliant - made me grin from ear to ear! Anyhow, onto my comments/suggestions. For me, I'll be doing an 80sqms single storey self build in 18/24 months time (once we get onto our land). So, your building content is what originally looped me. As time has moved on, your personality has drawn me in as you clearly wear your heart on the outside. Topics that I've learned from you are the waste water system, general building practises/tips, Fench drains, plumbing, excavator info, gatepost install, laser level, your JB Weld vid, sealing windows/doors, airless sprayer etc. Your audience will probably be made up of dreamers and do'ers. The challenge is identifying how you can satisfy them all (and get new people - and i cant help here!). I'm not a great social media person, as the amount of effort required to do vids and even more with the editing, as it becomes tedious. No sense in doing something that isn't enjoyable. In terms of doing vids for new products, that'll only work if you give an honest response/view. The MVHR project will be of great interest - Maybe - do a vid on what you plan is and gauge interest? So much of life is 'chicken and egg'. You'll find your own path. One area that you could look at is letting us know how you went through the planning process to get where you are today. DIY Aiden, I love your content as it is but what keeps me coming back is you. You have a great personality and come across as a really genuine guy. I feel your pain when you are faced with a problem but you always get there in the end and I'm sure you will make a go of the channel. My favourite videos so far have been the fitting of the metal service door and the electrical problem with your van and the rats - not that you want to be doing content like that every week! Looking forward to the repair projects on the garden items - they could have wider appeal? As for products - apart from the knife, a DIY tape measure would be popular - we all need a few of those.

You should do series. Review tools but keep your honesty and do more in depth how to videos. Would love to know how to do the brick work that you did for the outdoor electrics.

DIY - Yes, I’d be interested in one of those knives. I think keep doing what you’re doing. If you do some videos with short tips and basic techniques, like the silicone one, to bring in new viewers. But don’t neglect to do some of the longer more project-focused ones too, to keep your subscribers interested.

DIY II have a funny little "Rolson" knife that if I misplace i get upset so would definitly buy one of those. came across your channel searching how to do something ages ago and was hooked by your character. To be honest that is the main reason I'm here to soak up and learn your knowledge on how to do things. I do llok forwards to each post even if it isnt nessarily relevant to my needs at the time. I too live in a complete mess and I'm constantly misplacing stuff that I know I have got. A video on how to keep the site tidy would be great. Each video should ahve a quick clip of Arther and the cats to show they are still going. As to how to grow the channel keep doing what you are doing perhaps focus on projects even if they are a few episodes long. So the creation of your relaxing space needs every detail of how you did it, not just a click of the fingers and its finnished. I wish you well and keep the videos coming.

Learned so much from your videos. From my perspective, you’ve got a healthy mix of content that’s serving different purposes to you and your audience. With the how-to stuff, I watch it not because I don’t know how to do it, but because I enjoy seeing the different ways people approach the same task that I’m trying to do. There’s always things to pick up and learn and the things you know and take for granted are things many others don’t. I’m guilty of using soapy water on silicone 😂. You put in a great amount of detail into your videos that many other channels gloss over and for that I am thankful! DIY
DIY: We started following you when you built a shed for a friend. Then came the self build and we've enjoyed the ride ever since. It's great to see the project moving along at YOUR pace and as mentioned before, you have you own distinctive style which is refreshing and natural. I like the diversity of your vids. Now you're thinking of growing your own food, and as an obvious beginner, why not film that, as there's lots of interest in self sufficiency these days? Also, you've recently purchased bits and bobs through FB marketplace and auctions, give us your tips and pitfalls/success on those subjects. Restoring the buys, re-purposing items, all money saving tips are super popular on TH-cam. Your spin on things like this could only be good, I reckon. Talking about the shed, I remember you making some adjustments to the manufacturers plans of how to put it together, which was proper useful. Dig into that world of improvements maybe? I enjoy watching the channel. You keep it real. No bull. It's not easy maintaining a TH-cam channel. My son started 6 months ago, Hardly exotic. Filming and editing. Takes time. One of the plus sides of individual people like yourself,over time you will.. have created a community of people who want to take an interest in your projects and you also.
Is there scope to take on a person living with you rent free,but could help with the projects? Or a school leaver wanting to make video content?

Started watching from your collab vid with rag and bone guy. Hooked on how much you have done yourself with out a trade. I watch most of your vids when the come out, and often would prefer to watch the content creators I like walk me through a skill/project. Was fiddling around with some patio slabs earlier in the summer. Would be interested in a how to build the best base type video. I was also doing some skirting boards last year and despite my best efforts my measurements were always slightly out by a mm or two. Any tips on super accurate cuts/measuring for dummies.
DIY, would deffo buy knufe, reserve number 000 for me. Your content is great, I would still watch even with ads as it's your stuff I am interested in. As for video ideas, it would be nice to get an idea how long things actually take, example was your plant room doors, or the van wiring fix. Explanations and howtos by you are great, but I would watch anything now as the presentation is fantastic. Maybe some I got this but now I think it's not been such a great idea mate be useful, as I do that myself having watched other TH-camrs and I suspect they have fibbed a little
DIY variety is the spice of life. Mix it up do what you want. I wish I could be doing what you’re doing. I would schedule out all your DIY projects for next 6 months and then lay a media plan over that and you will find shorts, long, gram content will be easy see. Then do the odd random stuff. Like “how I make the videos.”

DIY - I'd be interested in a knife Aiden depending on how much it costs. I know it's a work/utility knife but does it lock open? Just wondering if it can be used as an every day carry or not? (that won't stop me buying one though, always plenty of uses for a knife in and around the workshop, just curious)
Wish I could help you with vid ideas but I ain't got any sorry. I personally watch all your vids in full cause I just like your down-to-earth style and the realism of it compared to a lot of other YT channels where everything is perfect, wish I knew how to get you to convince others to watch any/all your vids though. Sorry I'm not much help, but hopefully me watching the vids, and the odd comment is helping, albeit a little amount
DIY, I’d buy a knife! I like @designerbuilds, watch your videos because I enjoy them and not necessarily because I don’t know how to do things. I also believe that there are more than one way to do things, so am always learning and picking up tips! I think the projects which you are planning to undertake will give a number of great video opportunities……..welding, making raised beds, planting stuff, growing things, media blasting the rose arch you bought for example, you mentioned wet sand with a jet wash….Im intrigued by that and will have to look into it, because I’d not heard of that!!….Please keep up the good work.

Absolutely yes to a knife and I like the suggestions about doing links to past projects videos. I don’t know why your not further up the food chain compared to others although it would be worth considering filming a single project every other video like the gardening stuff you have talked about and doing up the recent purchase. I don’t really like reviews but do think about stuff recommended and not sponsored. Could you also do some collaborations with some of the other TH-cam folks bringing them in to help with a part of the build 🤷♀️ for what it’s worth I love the real side of your channel and the reality of trying to get stuff done. 😊
DIY - I’ve been waiting for the knife sale so definitely up for that. I toyed with the idea of doing TH-cam videos for a little while but just don’t have the enthusiasm, ability, time or creative flare to do it. A friend has a channel and the effort he puts in to make a short video really gave me an appreciation to how much it must take for yourself and others to produce the quality you do. I am very naive to how the system works for content creators and how exactly my interactions effects your rewards, however, you have highlighted and changed how I view all the channels I subscribe to (I hit like as your videos start as you suggested to me before😂). Keep up the great work and the best help I can offer is a promise to watch all content, engage as much as I can, I’d like a knife and a sticker. Thank you for what you do.
I've an idea for you. Paint outside fences, shed with engine oil ( preferably used) instead of garden fence Paint, do a video on it as a test, my dad was a professional painter and thats what he used on all outdoor timber, my shed is 24 years old and like new doing this. I also service my own cars, so plenty of old oil....
Recycling and saving money when you haven't got any😊
And after doing various cheap paint/stains on wood, see how quick they catch fire 🤣😬
@dphect how would it catch fire? Are you trying to say fence paint is fire retardant? It's a wooden fence/shed, if an arsonist lights it, it's gone.

There aren't enough videos on YT talking about the building techniques of past and why it was done that way and why things changed. Start off by doing one per month by visiting houses / buildings in local towns and villages. If they are successful you could do more travelling beyond your local area.
One example, the history of sealing window panes and frames before we had silicone. A manufacturer of silicone sealant might pay a decent sponsorship for that one.
Skill builder does a lot of this already and they videos don’t do well at all
I 'think' I understand where you are coming from. As someone who is doing a renovation that is nowhere near your scale I can appreciate how much work it is. I came to your channel after seeing you on SkillBuilder and I was expecting to see you making progress on the build. If you were able to keep focussed on that and show the progress on the build I feel like you will get more engagement. The project feels like it has stalled and it has been months since we have seen anything concrete that has happened. The side projects are entertaining and but they are not the reason that I subscribed. I think you need to show progress on the main build to keep people engaged. So easy to say and so hard to do but we are here to see you succeed in building your house. I don't care about seeing sponsored videos and things. If they help you along I will happily watch them; but we need some progression on the reason that we started watching.
Like everything I have said, it is easy for me to say and extremely bloody hard for you to do. However, I do think that the best thing you can do is show progress on the main build and that will drive you onwards and upwards.
DIY - would be good if there was a decent video on tips and tricks for measuring, marking and cutting mitres on skirting boards for external corners where the corner is not square and the wall is not plumb - the typical thing you come across in renovations. Always watch ti the end if all your vids. Keep up the good work.

You could split into two channels. One for philosophical ramblings and one for more structured 'how to' teaching videos? The later with sponsors etc.
People love the basic stuff man and as someone who is skilled like yourself there’s so much simple stuff you take for granted because you’ve done it for so long. For example I’ve shown people how to cut a straight line with a circular saw using a roof square and they think I’m a genius haha like people have no idea about this stuff or even drilling pilot holes 😂the silicone video you did changed my life and it’s pretty simple really so yeah that would be my humble suggestion. That said I believe if you just keep doing what you’re doing the tipping point will be inevitable and you’ll reap the rewards in time of the body of work you’ve created. Cheers dude x
DIY. I can hear your frustration and understand your annoyance that others get more for doing the same thing, hopefully your hard work gets noticed and you can start earning more.
DIY Keep it going mate. I'll have a think about video ideas but not sure I'll be much use. Only thing I could think of right off the bat it when using compression fittings putting PTFE tape around the olive not the thread, just something that I learned when I started building our place. Maybe when your doing all you new projects to make the quiet space for Lou make How to videos from them, like how to make a raised flower bed/planter etc. How to make install a rose arch. Dunno if that's any help? Just keep it going and keep doing what you're doing and I think you'll just naturally see your subscriber base grow. I mean look at Casey Neistat, all he did was vlogs about his daily life and his sub base sky rocketed. I would say maybe try doing a daily vlog video and I would think you'll see you subs increase dramatically. Problem is getting the time to do something like that. Oh and finally "Dance Money Dance" 🤣🤣🤣
DIY. Can't say I have many specifics coming to mind, but I've noticed a couple in your vlogs that could be capitalised on.
I'm sure there must be more, but one that stands out is your door fitting video with the shim trick to pull the door out. I could easily see that being pulled out into a short, dedicated instructional video, as a companion to the vlog video. Play the algorithm with a click bait title and I imagine that could grab attention.
Definitely throwing a lot of muck and seeing what sticks, but mixing DIY tips you learn, or think are worth mentioning, from your ongoing build can only be good.

I wonder if 'DIY' is not the best logo/brand for you. Your channel is built up from you and I think your brand is 'The Aiden Project'. It's catchy in my opinion. Perhaps finish this run of branded 'DIY' merch and then move on with branded 'The Aiden Project' merch. 🥰

There are lots of channels that trickle along on maybe a couple of thousand subs for years. Yours was one of them until quite recently, but you're over 20K now! Well done! 😁
Regarding the sponsored videos, as you mention the companies only pay a few hundred for the same amount of effort as other TH-camrs who get a load more. So I wouldn't bother doing any of those yet (unless you want that freebie!) until you're over 50k subs or something. Spend your time doing those short fill in videos that explain how to do stuff - maybe some short 'lifestyle' projects that people are always looking up how to do, such as those things you're about to work on. Will be interesting to see how they perform.
BTW - those adjustable metal builders trestles are really handy and also make a half decent dip station! Mirafit do some good value pull up bars too - easier and likely not much more expensive than trying to make something! 🙂
DIY good to see you, I've not checked on you in a while. Maybe you wouldn't want to bare everything, but you often do anyhow, so....how about a video explaining your land, local prices, agricultural value, quick history of your land/village, nearby house prices, your potential house value, what you would likely put in to complete the build. Value of you sold the lodge, or even sold a plot with planning permission. Would be an attention grabber and popular video. Be good if a friend did likewise in other end of country. Good luck
Aiden, have you thought about patreon? I watch just about every video, and probably prefer the less specific ones because I'm invested in the journey rather than to learn something specific. Admittedly your bifold door fitting guides have helped me a lot though! I would definitely pay a few quid for additional content/perks if you went that way
That's quite some video m8. It's good to reassess how things are going and to plan for where you want to get to. Impressed by the revenue increase, hopefully the start of something big.
I watch 'Monkey Wrench Mike' who repairs old broken cars (Mercedes mostly) - a lovely guy who was a professional TV presenter - and he has a sideline in critiquing Electric bikes. I never watch those videos and I don't blame him for trying to earn a buck.
Limited edition knives will interest a lot of people. If you have 50 already then sell those and see how it goes. Even more of an exclusive run. I imagine Christmas & Fathers day would be good selling times.
Personally I have always been confused by impact drivers versus combi drill. I know there are video's explaining when to use them (you might have done one yourself) but I could see you explaining it quite well. If the video does well it might even lead to a tie-up with a power tool manufacturer. I like Milwaukee stuff....I like the red colour!
Most important thing is to concentrate on subscribers and content is king. When you have 100K subs you can introduce the personal adverts & be paid accordingly for your time & effort.
Product testing and analysis like 'Project Farm' is interesting....I could imagine you are quite good at coming up with novel ways to test different products and highlight which ones work in certain scenarios (but you probably need a reputation as an independent person for that..."Not a sponsor!")

You're a grafter. You'll get there. And every so often remind yourself of what you have achieved so far. You have done amazing things. Just don't forget to look after number one...and Lou & Arfur of course...and the cats!!
Love the fact that Lou is talking honestly about what she wants, you have listened and 'volunteered' to create her a space of her own. But I expect the main house is the elephant in the room....it will allow you both to reach your full potential and have some friends round. So perhaps invest in some help - or lcall in favours - to push that project along. Get over some of the hurdles and make things more manageable for you.

DIY - I will definitely buy a knife. The videos i end up clicking on are along the lines of "DIY jobs people think are difficult but heres the easy way to do them" thats how i stumbled on Keiths channel and the carpenters daughters channel.

Perhaps a bit late, but as you are a veteran digger driver, a basic how to, and what techniques to use where would be useful.
Maybe do a video on how to build a fire pit or a stone BBQ ? How to do some basic welding ?
I'd agree on this. There are loads of American videos not there are precious few UK ones that either review a kit (not that I can find any of those either) or really show you how to make one from scratch.
DIY - I'll be buying a knife (probably 2 as I'll lose the first) when ready.... Are you going to do them via Ko-Fi and some t-shirts maybe?

Could sit an watch a video like this for hours but you’ve explained really well how that doesn’t benefit your channel as well as it could - maybe give a podcast a go if you have time 😂
On a serious note I really enjoy comparison videos, particularly your Screwfix refurbished one recently - I didn’t even know you could buy refurbished tools there.
Maybe next time you need to purchase something for the build, have a look at a couple of other popular options too to make a comparison video (if not too expensive that is!)
Can't understand why people don't appreciate that in order to survive you need Ad Revenue, just advertise whatever you are offered provided you can make a decent/fair rate for it.. every business does some kind of advertising.. keep up the good work
Hmmm. My view is that you have a fantastic resource at your disposal because you're building a house (alongside doing a dozen other things!) Take a bathroom fit out (for example) and break it down into all the jobs that need doing IN ORDER. Amateurs don't know what to do and when or what to order or when they need it. Like two dozen videos on fitting a bathroom from start to finish with loads of detail. What size tiles, how do you work out how many? Wastage? Where do you get them from? How can you get a deal? Do you buy the trim from the same place? Is the aluminium trim easier to work with than the plastic? Which adhesive? How much to buy? Taps, lino, electrics, mirrors, all sorts of stuff in bathroom. Step by step on each bit. And has a handy side effect of getting your house done! I think maybe you don't like this stuff because you think that 90% of it is obvious? It might be to you but it's not to others. Maybe you think somebody else already has a video on that? But you're dead good at explaining stuff and funny too, so your vid might be better. And I do think you're able to market your stuff better than others. And you can do log burner install, kitchen fit, decoration, carpets, wooden floors, landscaping, whatever - everything on your house. And garden. And outhouses. And vehicles. Check out Ali Dymock's vids on building a garden room - step-by-step stuff that I found super useful when I built mine. Just a suggestion anyway. Thanks for the great content!

Your velux video's really helped me. Maybe you could re install another one and propper document it. I'm done with my first one and this is what i shouldve been told and was missing:
Make extra sure your frame is level
Howto get the window out of the frame when you mess up part one (you have 2 vids for this, thx)
How best to get the bloody heavy thing lifted into the installed frame
When to use low vs high mounting of the frame
Basically the entire install cause velux explanations are garbage
The rain-proof-stuff is a separate order.
Rain proof stuff comes in different versions which are badly explained, i took the most expensive temp insulation one and now I have extra Styrofoam panels i will not use
The electric shades on the outside come with motor and switch but no power supply, though motor, switch and power are also sold separately
The corn! The hair! Just the right mix of gross. The kids loved this one.
DIY - PS I definitely want to order a knife!
DIY how to videos are generally great, methodical and attention to detail. I'd look to split some down, keep to less than 20 minutes, but do Part 2 a day or so later, keep people coming back. Always link part 1 in a part 2. But the part 2 has to be published within a few days to keep people interested. Keep on subject with sponsorship, you'll loose views if you stick hello fresh in the middle of how to how to weld a rose arch...... Push to find subject related sponsors interested.
I don't mind AD content if it's honest. Another youtuber, Clough42, has done a few video where he's clearly honest about his dislike of things and that's far more valuable to me than what's right with it.
As far as evergreen content goes, I'd say any well explained DIY stuff is good. Even as simple as different types of wall plugs/adhesives, tips/tricks, things which people commonly do wrong or testing commonly held diy thinking.
DIY - Can I ask why you speed up parts of your videos?
Dude… listen to me. I had a kid when I was 40. It’s the best thing I ever did. Don’t let society and its bullshit norms talk you out of being parents. If you get chance to see a life come into this world then you grab it with both hands. This is what life is really all about - you’ll be awesome parents, we need more awesome young creative hard working like you reproducing. I have just had two weeks off work , just pottering about doing anything and nothing, it has been great I loved it. Cleaned my workshop 3 times, covered it in sawdust and cleaned it again but who cares. However, got to go back to work to make a living, those emails ain’t going to answer themselves until I am replaced by an AI chatbot. Then I can go make some more sawdust and do anything and nothing again.😂

The things that you say “not many people know about” I reckon you’re guilty of assuming that the masses know things that same obvious to us/people that are technically minded and do this kind of work.
Example…. How to accurately measure and mark timber “stop cutting your timber too short”
Take you minutes to explain in detail with some tips etc, but people will search for it! My advice (granted, I know nothing on this youtube subject, just working off my own logic) is assume that people know nothing and want to know EVERYTHING that you know.

I think most people these days use adblockers so ad revenue may not be a huge earner in the scheme of things... You could try a live stream Cat-Cam during the night, not sure if that would draw in more people?? could have a banner ad rolling over the video??... I have heard people making crazy money from converting vans to campervans and selling them and since you know vehicles better than them you could start off with a much cheaper 'worse' condition van that you could fix up yourself, could even do 2 or 3 at a time since you have the space... There is a big 'Allotment' and ' Grow your own' presence on YT so having a few of those videos might be popular...

I think your recent tomato planting vid with nice music.. That's the vids that get views. You have to reach out to people not necessarily your ideal audience.
hmmmmmm..... My idea....
Invite your fans (yes, us), over for the day to help you move, sort, build, chop down, cut, etc. and get quite a bit done to take some of the work off your hands.
Videos; Break the video into smaller, "how to" chunks. For example, if your going to restore that old iron gate you bought, you could have taken video (1) of where you went to buy it, that will interest buyers of such stuff. Video (2) to show preparing it for paint/welding. Video (3) would be welding. (4) painting. (5) hanging it on site. Each video you could feature the tools and how to use them and the materials/products and why you've chosen them.
Straight away, instead of a title saying "Watch me repair an old metal gate", you'd have 5 video titles along the lines of, "Essex car boot, old metal gate bargain!", "Sand blasting kit, do's and dont's", "Welding made easy and choosing the right metal", "Outdoor metalwork: Why I chose Hammerite!" and "How to install restored antique gate". You get the idea.

I did watch a video the other day that long form content is the best because people fall asleep watching them and the Advert revenue is then huge for a single video. Not sure if that's a TH-cam hack but it seems worth looking into.

You're good at what you do, but there's loads and loads of how to videos of course.
Your presentation skills are refreshingly natural and this makes your content stand out. But that's not obvious until we start watching the videos.
You're the only channel that I've come across in any genre on TH-cam which lets us peer behind the curtain to get a glimpse of the nuts and bolts involved in running the show. I'm quite surprised that the Gauleiters at YT allow even the slightest peak and can't see them not jumping on it in the near future with some 'commercial confidentiality' crap as their justification.
Other stuff too, but that's enough sunshine being blown up where the sun don't shine for now.
The first thing is obvious ~ you have to capture the eye of the disengaged YT scroller.
Maybe you could think about going down the route of 'How to' plus.
What about gimmicks like a car or train track from the kitchen to the living room; the kettle (or the fridge) to the armchair; for a cuppa (or a beer) on demand?
Less Wallace and Gromit: you could show how to reuse the grey water from the kitchen sink to flush the loo and other green ideas? They're certainly in fashion for the foreseeable, aren't they?
Think about all the stupid shit teenagers or new house owners ask their Dad to help them with. Do lots of skill vids, but keep the overarching story of your build going. I am hooked because I like your delivery, and I also want to see how your build goes (all of it, boring admin stuff regluations etc, to making something). The narrative of the build will keep subscribers. The catalogue of skill vids will bring in people searching for things like "clean a sink trap" or "sharpen a whatsit called".

Would recommend a full tour walk round, including the ground never seen one it’s hard to piece it all together .
I would also recommend other things to mix it up for example you bought some stuff from an auction would’ve been good to see you go to the auction and so on the process.

If you have a look at Farmer p he always does things like this auctions daily different things. Fencing outdoor works and so on. Also, maybe team up with a few others the traditional Builder. he would probably come round and do some bits especially with your Wall he likes traditional works that would be a good video cause you can link them together.
Maybe Farmer p paddock advice . Just reach out as to as many as you can because also you get their viewers. Ask every subscriber if they can send a few videos on their WhatsApp groups you’ll be surprised the amount of interest that would receive and may again more subscribers.

My personal opinion is, I watch TH-cam for my entertainment, just like I do with Netflix, I pay Netflix for this benefit, and I pay TH-cam Premium for this benefit, I would not want to pay anymore for this, but does not mean I'd unsubscribe, that's cutting your nose to spite your face.
I would just watch the content that you put up, which is included in my Premium subscription, TH-cam premium is expensive enough as it is without any additional fees, just my 2p worth 👍
You need to and deserve to earn money. Ad reads don't bother me, (though possibly because you can just skip through them) What does bother me is watching an ad where people are not honest! If you got something for free or you're being paid say that upfront.

Try get yourself on fix radio, your a natural at youtube, and have good knowledge of alot of different trades. And would be good on radio, also you get to promote yourself etc. Back to the video front Do a video on CT-1 or some other product. Also try attend a trade show sometime good for networking mate.

DIY - Aiden I would buy one of your knives if I can have 007 please. I have had a bit of a play at making TH-cam videos and have just seen a pergola made of treated timber that I have just replicated in Oak. Would have made a great video but to film it, explain what I was doing and editing etc just seemed of no point for a few views. Not sure it is worth it (unless you are Matt Armstrong who gets 2.5m views per video).

I like how to videos on simple diy tasks but always end up not finding the task im trying to complete, or people using tools the average diyer does not own and wont. Channels like b & q how to are good but is a bit set up for perfect world scenario. I also like reviews of small cheap things i might by from screwfix but theres loads of options, for example, caulk, whats the difference? Should i just buy the cheapest? Paint brushes, again is it worth paying more? How to clean paint brushes? There must be a better way than standing over a sink for bloody ages! None of the simple stuff comes easy to me and was never taught so always looking on youtube! Hanging doors and getting it right, id never give that ago everyone makes it seem simple but i know it wouldnt shut if i gave it go! Which wall plug goes with what screw even that!
