Bob Zero And what a shame I spelt her name wrong, twice. She is the first singer I heard live. In David Jones, Parramatta, with her band The Affair. Strange venue (some promotional thing). I was a schoolkid. The band was amazing, and Renee was mesmerising. And I was on the jazz/funk path ... thanks Renee.
Jim Kelly. My vote for the greatest Australian guitarist of all time. I used to sit in awe, mindblown, listening to him fronting Crossfire at French's Tavern (was it Wednesday nights ?) in Oxford Street circa 1973. Grace, power and endless creativity. Musicians were coming from miles around to listen ...
