I first met Carl Lewis at the Mt. SAC Invitational in 1982. He uses and teaches the concept that the BACKSWING of the arms is what generates both the knee lift and production of ground forces with each foot strike, when sprinting. That, and STAYING RELAXED were his keys to success in the 1980's and 90's.
Another way is the sprint 8 I’m 13 and I tried the sprint 8 about six months ago, what it does is it boost ur oxygen and testosterone so u grow\get better over all What u do is run at 100% for 30 sec and rest for 1:30 and do that 8 times My events are 100m and long jump , 200m and in the 100m I was a 13.1 and that brought me to a 12.5 and I also broke a few records to and I blame that on the sprint 8
Well, that is a sufficient amount, but as the vid said, you also should do strength and other types of training. Two days or even just one, should always be there for you to rest and recover.
The IDEA is to keep control of pace/rhythm. Considering the arms and legs are in sync and the arms can move faster, you use the arms to increase the pace/rhythm. Thus you run faster....
I actually tried this method a while back and i noticed that it didn’t make me faster than anyone else, but at least i got faster than how i was before.
When my son was younger he asked me how he could learn to run faster. I told him to watch how the T1000 runs in Terminator 2, I said look how he moves his hands, run like that and your legs will catch up, And it 100% worked for him, he's the fastest player on his football team (soccer)
The dudes who worked on the animatrix talked about focusing on the runners hands to help sell the running speed. Kinda cool to see a real world similarity.
THANK YOU MY CROSS COUNTRY IS IN 10 DAYS WITH LIKE EVERY SCHOOL ON THE ISLAND ( I live in a small country like literally a pencil dot on the map but still like terrifying) SO THANK YOU 😊
That's called "cheek-to-cheek" (No Diddy). Your hand goes from your face to you bottom as fast as you can. If you have like 3 pound hand weights train with those and when you're running regular you absolutely will run fast. As your arms go your legs will follow. When you get tired focus on your form and stay pumping.
Before watching this I just walk like this in the hallways pretending to catch a football and people still ask why I run so fast (4.9 40 yard dash at 13)

To get run faster and improve my max speed, should I have more rest days or more training days?

2-3 more intense workout days per week, active rest days plus strength training
